Chapter 9 (Raykens Passed p2)

(Passed)

They both made it to the tree house.

Lira smiled and went up the ladder leading to the old tree house.

Rayken followed her up.

Out the tree house window was a beautiful view of the whole wood mill and farms.

Inside the tree house was a few pillows, blankets, a lamp, small old rug and lots of dusty books.

Lira layed on her belly and opened her book.

Her legs kicked in the air.

She loved to read.

Rayken looked at her legs for just a moment and looked away.

"*Why I'm I feeling this way?*" he wondered to himself.

He never felt this bad of tension or thoughts about his friend before it was making him very uncomfortable.

"Rayken your very quiet...come over I'll read you some of this book see if you remember it." She said patting the floor next to her.

"Oh yes, sorry." He said crawling over and laying on his belly next to her.

She began to reading one of the many stories from the book.

Time just seemed to fly by.

She read though many stories and Rayken just layed there listening quietly.

He looked at her and smiled.

He was happy she was happy.

The sun started to set.

"Oh shit, I have to go home!" Rayken said suddenly when he noticed the sun setting.

He jumped up and grabbed his coat.

"Me to, wow it's already sunset?" Lira said surprised.

She stood up and stretched her arms yawned.

"I'm ready for bed. I have school in the morning." She said.

"I have work early in the morning." He said.

"Oh, what time are you off tomorrow?" She asked.

"12pm this time." He said.

"I'll leave school early to meet up with you." She said.

"Alright." He said starting to climb down the ladder.

They both reached the bottom of the ladder.

"My dad's going to kill me for being late..." Rayken said sadly.

"Yeah my parents are probably a little worried about me...but they know I'm with you so I'm okay." She said with a smile.

Rayken smiled back.

"Bye see you tomorrow!" Lira said giving Rayken a big hug.

When she tried to let go Rayken wrapped his arms around her tightly before she could.

His body suddenly heated up.

His heart quickened...

He ran his hand up her back, rested his face into her neck and took a deep breath.

She felt him shaking and chills went all over her body.

"Rayken...what are you doing?" She asked nervously.

He didn't seem to hear her.

He ran his hands down to her hips and pulled her closer.

His breathing became deeper.

She felt something hard between her legs.

"Rayken stop!" She said loudly pushing him away.

"Sorry!" Rayken said suddenly falling backwards from her push and landing on his butt.

She looked shocked when she saw his erection under his pants.

"I gotta go!" He said quickly getting up and covering himself and running off down the path.

Lira stood there in shock yet she felt herself smiling and blushing.

Rayken made it home right when the sun sat.

He quietly opened the front door.

"*I hope his asleep...*" he thought to himself.

He stepped inside and shut the door slowly behind him.

"WHERE THE FUCK WERE YOU?" A loud man's voice yelled.

Rayken heart skipped a beat.

"Dad! I-I was helping Lira, she..." he shuddered to say nervously.

"I don't want to hear NO fucking excuses!" Mr. Ray (Raykens dad) yelled.

"I'm sorry...dad I-..." Rayken said scared looking down.

Mr. Ray slapped him hard across the face. Rayken fell to the ground hitting his head, his eyes got teary from the pain.

"Dear! Please leave him be!" Daisy (Rayken's mom) pleaded.

She grabbed onto Mr. Rays arm and rubbed his chest to calm him down.

"This little shit needs to learn to listen! I asked him to be home after work, not go help a little bitch!" Mr. Ray yelled at Rayken on the floor.

"Don't call her that!" Rayken said angrily standing up.

"Are you fucking talking back to me?!" Mr. Ray said sternly getting into Raykens face.

Rayken stood his ground looking him in the eyes.

Daisy got between them.

"Please, please calm down...both of you!" She said starting to cry.

"Move the fuck outta the way women!" Mr. Ray said shoving her aside.

He quickly punch Rayken in the face knocking him backwards.

Rayken lower lip was busted open and blood was pouring out.

Rayken quickly stood back up and tighten his fists.

"FUCK YOU!" Rayken yelled in Mr. Rays face.

He spit a mouthful of blood out on the ground.

"Either you are going to punch me or go to your room well you still can walk." Mr. Ray said sternly.

Rayken stood there for a moment breathing heavily clutching his fists.

He looked over at his mom.

She shook her head no at him with tears in her eyes.

He took a deep breath and walked to his room and shut the door.

"Good choice kid." Mr. Ray said rudely.

Daisy sat in a chair to collect herself.

"What the fuck are you doing sitting around, get in there and finish making my dinner!" He demanded.

(Present)

"Your father is an asshole!" Katherine said bluntly.

"Yeah he sure was..." Rayken said with a blank stare.

"I can imagine." She said.

Katherine looked at her clock on the wall.

"Our time is up for the day." She said standing up from her chair.

"Is it...?" Rayken asked.

"Yes, it was very interesting hearing a little about your passed. We can continue tomorrow at the same time." She said with a big smile.

"Well...just one thing." He said looking into her eyes.

"*He looks so defeated all the time*" She thought and wondered what more trauma his passed held.

"Yes Mr. Ray." She asked.

"Just give me one kiss..." he said.

"I-" She didn't know what to say.

This will be her first time actually giving him a kiss willingly.

"You're so beautiful...I don't think you know that." He said softly.

She hasn't heard that in a long time.

"*I'm not beautiful*" She thought to herself.

"You're just saying that because you're desperate and I'm a women." She said sincerely.

"I mean it..." he said looking her in the eyes.

"Do you have a husband?" He asked.

"Yes, I think... I mean, I don't want to get into that with you." She said getting kind of annoyed.

"He doesn't seem to appreciate you...like I would." He said bluntly.

"I- I'm not discussing that." She said walking to the door.

"I can just tell..." he said looking away from her.

"Tell what? That my husband doesn't show me affection no more! That for years it's hard for me to accept love from a man now because of him. How can you tell that Rayken? Tell me!" She said getting angry.

"I don't have to...you just did." He said with a small side smile.

She didn't know what to say.

She walked slowly over to him and looked down at him laying on the couch.

"Just one small kiss okay?" She said leaning down to him.

He pushed his head forward to meet her lips and pulled on his chains to attempt to hold her.

She stopped kissing him and looked down at his chained up hands.

"don't stop...kiss me." He said.

She continued to kiss him and put her hand gently on his face.

He started kissing her more passionately.

She pulled away from him and saw he had a huge erection.

"...get on me." He said under his breath

"I can't, It's time for me to go." she said holding herself back.

"FUCK!" He yelled very loudly slamming his head back and pulling at his chains.

Katherine jumped from being startled.

His voice is so deep.

The gaurds rushed in.

"Is everything okay in here?" The guard ask.

"Yes, yes everything is fine. He's just upset our time is up for the day." She said easing the tension.

"Okay we'll bring him to his cell." The gaurd said un-chaining him from the couch.

"Thank you. Be nice to him." She said.

Rayken looked in pain and very upset.

He refused to look at her.

She worried about him.

"*I have to go talk to Dr. Shane!*" She thought and grab her purse and rushed out her office door.

Oh her walk over she began to worry.

"*What if the other nurses get to him, he isn't going to be able resist them in this state of mind.*"

She reached Dr. Shane's office door and knocked on it.

He opened the door.

"Oh hello Mrs. Hudson...how may I help you?"

he asked.

"Uh well, I have some questions I need to ask you regarding Mr. Ray." She said.

"Sure, come on in..." he said inviting her in his office.

He sat down at his desk.

"What seems to be the problem?" He asked her crossing his fingers.

"Oh well you see Rayken informed me that he wasn't being fed very much so I was wondering why?" She asked concerned.

She didn't feel comfortable enough to sit down yet.

"Well I didn't know that...I'll have to go talk to The chief of guards Mr. Paul about that right away. He is in charge of the feeding schedules for the inmates." He said undramatically.

She could tell he didn't care.

This made her more concerned and upset.

"Don't you care about the well being of your patients!? He is over there sleeping on a cold metal table, chained up all night with no food or water! That's torture!" She said demanding.

"It's sounds like you are getting to emotionally involved with him Mrs. Hudson!

Your job is to just evaluate him to see if he deserves to be here or in a regular prison.

It's not caring about what he sleeps on or what he eats.

Thats not in your job description.

That's my job and Mr. Paul's.

Stay in your lane!"

He said raising his voice at her.

"Well it seems like you need to do a better job with him. I can't properly evaluate him if he has lack of sleep and starving to death!" She snapped back.

"It's not meant to be super comfortable here Mrs. Hudson.

This is a type of prison for bad people whom done very bad things.

You're just not used to the way we run things down here yet.

It's not a bed of roses like where you came from." He said sternly fixing his glasses.

"It seems like you can't handle this job if you keep this up. Maybe you should go back to your previous position.

Maybe I was wrong about you?" He added seeming aggravated.

"No...I'm sorry I can handle this job.

It's just I care very deeply about my patients I'm caring for...sorry again, I'll be on my way home. See you tomorrow." She said heading to the door.

"No problem sorry for any misunderstanding, just please stick to what I hired you for." He said has she open to door to leave.

"Yes Doctor." She said leaving.

She went around the corner of his office and looked to make sure no one can see her.

"*I have to go see Mr. Paul myself! It doesn't seem like nothing will be done unless I do something!*" She rush over to see Mr. Paul.

She saw him leaning back relaxing in his chair though his office window.

"Thank goodness he is in his office." she said quietly to herself.

She waved nicely to him, caught his attention and pointing at his office door. He got up and opened the door for her.

"And what do I own this visit too?" He said taking his glasses off looking her up and down smiling.

"Hello Mr. Paul, I just wanted to ask you a few questions regarding patient #445." She said stepping into his office.

"Anything for you sweet cheeks, whats up?" He said leaning on his desk.

"Uh well you see I'm just concerned about his up-keep here..." she said a little nervous.

"What do you mean by that?" he said.

"Well he told him he doesn't hardly get fed and I saw he is chained up all night with out water or able to even use that bathroom...I just feel it is wrong to deprived someone from their simple human needs." She said getting angry.

"Woah hold on there tiger, It's not up to me how each patient is treated, I just follow the rules of what my big bad boss tells me to do." he said putting his hands up.

"What? Dr. Shane told me it's up to you when the patients get fed and such?" She asked confused.

"Yes and no, however he told me specifically how to treat patient #445 so I listened. I give Dr. Shane a hard time sometimes but I listen to his requests haha that's how I keep my job." He said with a smile.

"It's not bugging me none to treat a scum bag like the filth he is anywho." he added.

"Why would he tell you to treat #445 this way?" She asked concerned.

"Well don't tell him I told you but I believe #445 hurt a family member of his so he is taking the treatment of him personally." he said picking his tooth with a toothpick.

"Oh...regardless that's not what a doctor is supposed to do." She said.

"You go tell him haha it's your job on the line." he said shrugging his shoulders.

"I...I can't I need this job." She said quietly.

"*I'm most likely going to have to start supporting myself and daughter on my own for awhile...*" She thought to herself and got sad.

"Hey, ya' okay?" He asked noticing her change in mood.

"Yes I'm okay. I'll best be on my way home. Thanks for answering my questions the best you could." She said leaving.

"Yeah alright then, stop by anytime but next time let it be a better reason." He said with a wink.
