50. Dive

Two days after the Ball, it was the day of the second test. It was funny the first time I opened the golden egg, because I had forgotten that you had to open it under water. It was horrifying, but funny.

The entire Hufflepuff common room had nightmares for two days about it. Anyway, as soon as I remembered the situation, I opened it under the water as it should and the merpeople task and sayings looked the same.

After explaining to my little brother how to open the golden egg, I began to practice spell transformation. The problem is, it was expensive, and it consumed a lot of magic. So I had to appeal, which I find amusing.

Because of how I came to this world, it became even more troublesome, and for a moment, I believed that it wouldn't be possible to do it, but it worked out, so I needed to accumulate a lot of magic for the said test day.

That was easy, for I had Basilisk blood running through my veins, and my heart had a few shards of the philosopher's stone. It was easy to accumulate magic in it. So when I attended classes, I used the excuse that I couldn't use magic.

It was today, and if my intention works, I'll give some people nightmares from hell for a while while more attention comes my way. This is on purpose, so they leave Harry a little bit alone for a while.

"Welcome to the second trial of the Tournament. Something has been taken from our Champions, and now, they have the arduous task of recovering their treasures. I wish each and every one of them the best of luck." Dumbledore delivers his speech, and our beloved caretaker fires the cannon.

Harry drinks a potion and jumps into the water. Fleur and Victor jump too, while pulling out their wands. I stood there, wearing nothing but swimming shorts, on that horribly cold day.

Almost 20 minutes later, I finally jumped into the water, when I finally managed to make all that accumulated magic expand to my entire body. I felt like a chain was being released, and my body hit the water.

POV DUMBLEDORE

I know I was all for that idea, at least as it was, it was a way to make Harry more prepared for his future challenges, but that boy, Evans, was both a blessing and a curse.

First, because he had an arsenal of spells that was incompatible with his age, even though he ended up living in one of the oldest houses in Wizarding Britain. There were many secrets that I admit, I was curious to find out.

But I would need time and finesse, and the boy, I bet, knew that I sometimes read the current memoirs of some students. And that made me more and more curious about the Evans boy.

Now, however, he has been standing still for 20 minutes since the start of the task, and he has not moved or opened his eyes at all. It was then that I felt the magic pulse. It was powerful, very powerful.

Next to me, Maxime noticed it too, and looked at me strangely, but there was nothing I could do, since even I didn't know what was going on.

Finally, the boy went to the water. But something was off. He didn't jump into the water, it's more for him to fall.

The bubbles showed that the air did not stop coming out, it even stopped. And the place where the boy fell had no more movement. I was worried now. This boy's death could make Harry not listen to others, and end up falling into the darkness of hatred and despair.

I was seconds away from asking Moody to get the boy and try to save his life, but then everything changed. A gigantic water tower rises, forming an incredible tornado.

I started weaving protective spells around all the students and visitors in the stands, but it wasn't even necessary, because from within that tornado, a wonderful, powerful and legendary creature emerged.

His howl to the heavens was frightening, powerful, but at the same time, it gave the feeling that he was happy. Its scaly, black skin with a few gold accents, smart eyes and sharp, deadly teeth.

It was one of the most beautiful creatures I've ever seen, and one of the biggest too. 15 meters of pure fearsome destructive power. Then the creature submerges again, leaving only the churning lake behind.

POV MC

Leviathan, that's what I managed to transform. I wanted something powerful, but what a pleasant surprise it came to me. I thought I would become a Sea Wyrm, because of the Basilisk blood I have. But this is so much better.

My body was big and powerful, my speed through the water was exceptional, and my vision was clear as day even in the deep, dark waters of the lake.

I made my way towards my treasure, and I could see in the distance, Harry holding Ginny's arms, and arguing with a merman. He looked distressed, as there were still two people there, without their champions.

Then they felt my approach. A bizarrely large creature, swimming at breakneck speed. The merpeople, quick in their surroundings, just fled, in any direction that wasn't mine, or the direction I was heading.

I just bit the ropes, or rather the vine or whatever the name of the thing they used to tie people up with, very carefully, trapped the two girls in my teeth, and looked at Harry.

I held my fin out to him, and he took it, then urged him closer, being as careful as possible not to slice the boy with my scales. So I advanced, towards the sunlight, far above.

When we reached light and air, I saw the girls wake up, all the while screaming in despair, for, well, I was holding them by the collar of their clothes, and it was no wonder that they were frightened by my appearance.

I left the girls beside Harry as I pushed them towards the tournament platforms. The noise those people made just to see my transformation was deafening.

If they only saw the dwarf captain's Hyōrinmaru, they wouldn't be so excited, after all, they would already be frozen. Anyway.

After helping them onto the platform, I grabbed one of the towels they were going to dry themselves with and dunked it in the water. Just over 2 minutes later, I surfaced, using 'Ascendio' to launch myself back onto the platform.

As soon as I landed, gracefully and gracefully, but losing a lot of points as I had to hold the towel, I was verbally and physically assaulted by a girl who can't control her temper.

"How could you do something as irresponsible and ridiculous as that....." She continued to rant and scold me as I tried my best to grab the towel and dodge a few more heavy blows.

"Hermione, calm down and stop, or I'll end up naked in front of all these people. I don't want to show my treasure to everyone here." I complain, and I see the girl have a strong blush on her cheeks.

But things are never too bad that they can't get any worse. Fleur, in her eagerness to thank Harry and me for bringing her cute little sister back, gave me a hug, throwing herself at me, which almost sent us falling into the cold lake again.

Hermione was now looking at me with a murderous glare, one I can't deny, it was really freaking me out.

"You saved my sister, thank you." She gave me a kiss on each cheek, and left, to do the same to Harry. I know this because I saw it. Soon after, I also saw Harry suffer at Ginny's hands.

I just swallowed hard, tightened the towel around my waist, tightened my grip on it, and waited, like a man, facing death row. Or rather, the Hogwarts reaper.
