Obstacle l

Louisa bolted into the cold, her skirt bunched up inside her hands. Not sparing herself the chance to shiver, she turned leftward and started in that direction. Ignoring the whisperings of the stars, she leaped onto the snaky bend.

"You know? The servants' hall is that way," a macho voice spoke suddenly behind her, causing the hairs on her neckline to raise, "how did you know you would find me on your way to see the horses," the man said.

"I didn't." Louisa relaxed, controlling her reckless breathing. "I just.… guessed," she said, and then twisted a turn.

His outline under the moonlight was glorious. He smiled, thinly and said, "It's so nice to see you again."
