"The housekeeper is not," said she. "And I am not dumb enough as you think. I can figure my way out of here."


"You can?"


"Yes, I can."


"Hm." Rochester travelled his hand up to his lips. Bussing his mouth sensually with his thumb, he felt his lips divide. Hoping it would have the desired effect on the girl, he said, "I am still confused. Why haven't you left here already? Is there perhaps something else you would need me to do for you? Want to warm my bed perhaps?"


"You are disgusting, sir! And I hate you!" Louisa yelled, and in a couple of sprints, she was outside his chamber, shutting the door with a slam.

Louisa continued on her way after hearing all that Simon had to say. Adelaide has been sick for a month? She would not also take her medicine? What sick game was that? Louisa could not fathom why Adelaide would toy with her life like that. Unless she was truly desperate to die. Louisa recalled how coming down with the Flu left her incapacitated and at the mercy of Rochester back in his house. Speaking from experience she knew that what Adelaide was doing to herself was not good for her both in the long run and in the short run. Her heart truly ached for Adelaide in such a state and to think that she was deliberately refusing to get well, all for the sake of being bratty.
