Chapter 31

She saw something in the corner of her eye and turned to her left to see the guard from before. She glanced at him and he just stared at her.

"Was it a nice bath?" Jaysa jumped. She turned to her left again to find Danzel walking towards her. She smiled at the man and spoke.

"It was one of the best baths I've ever had. Plus, there are no perverts." Jaysa grinned. Danzel only smirked back. He stopped in front of Jaysa and reached out to touch her hair. It was still damp, but he was able to see how long it was. He couldn't wait to know what it felt like completely dry.

"Well that's good. I'm glad there were no perverts in the bathing room. As soon as we get married, I'll make sure that no one would bother you." Jaysa slapped Danzel's hand away from her head.

"I was talking about you." She spoke back at him.

"Awe," he gently spoke "that's not something you should call your future husband."

"Whatever." Jaysa spoke as she turned on her heels and walked off.

"Do you even know where you are going? Jaysa stopped. She had no idea, but she wanted to leave the man behind. However, she did not want to get lost in this castle. So instead she turned around and spoke in an innocent voice.

"You're right Sire. I don't want to get lost in the castle. So could you please show me the way?" Her voice went sour. "So I can slam the door on your face." The guard watched the scene in front of him. He was unsure if he should step in or to leave them as they were. The man looked over at the Prince and saw a huge smirk on his face, which puzzled him even more. Danzel walked past the guard toward his future wife. He could hear the two bickering back and forth as they walked away. Danzel couldn't help but chuckle. He was now in a good mood. He thought the announcement he made was the best because he shocked the Priest and pissed his uncle off. However, his uncle made him mad with what the man said about Jaysa earlier. He won't let anyone talk bad about her, or let anyone harm her. In two todays' he will marry her. She would become his wife. She'll be his. He couldn't wait.

Jaysa laid peacefully under the warm sheets. She slept quietly without having anyone bother her. Her dreams were sweet since they were about the past with her mother before all the horrible things happened. Jaysa suddenly felt her body move. She ignored it at first, but the movement became greater every time. Jaysa couldn't take it anymore and opened her eyes. When she did, she saw many women hovering over her. Jaysa freaked out pushing herself backwards up against the bed frame.

"What are you doing here?" Jaysa asked in complete fright.

"Miss, we are very sorry that we scared you, but you have to get ready." One of the maids replied.

"Ready for what?" Jaysa was completely confused.

"My, your wedding my lady." The maid giggled at the young girl's question. "Now please come with me." The women forced Jaysa out of the bed and lead her to the same bathing chambers, except she wasn't in there for a long soak. It was a quick wash and dry. The maids then dress Jaysa in a robe and dragged her to the next room. Jaysa was still confused.

Is today the day? Jaysa thought. The teen girl was forced into another room she had never been in before. She was pulled into a corner of the room that only had a dresser and a three set mirrors. One of the care givers brought out a white dress for Jaysa could see. She was taken aback by its beauty. The women helped Jaysa slip into the dress. It was almost like a ball dress. The sleeves were cut at the shoulders. The women fastened the corset on the back of the dress. There was a sash that was attached to the corset and it covered the laces from the corset. The women tied in the back leaving a huge bow and a long trail of ribbons. In the middle of the breast of the dress was a heart shaped diamond. Two women helped slip on silky white arm length gloves. Her hair was pulled up and curled in different strands; some fell in front of her face. Jaysa was also given a choker that sparkled with crystals and sterling silver. The creamy white pearls wrapped around her neck before the separate crystals fell down in different areas around her neck. The women set a tiara that had a heart shaped diamond along with Sapphire and rubies on Jaysa's head to help her hair stay in place. The women also added some fabric that sat on the tiara which was the Vail. Both pieces were folded back until the time they would need to cover her face.

"My Queen, you look astonishing." One woman spoke while bowing her head down and respect.

Queen? Jaysa thought "No, no, no." Jaysa spoke while waving her hands. "Don't call me that. Just call me Jaysa. I'm just a peasant. I was not born from royalty." Jaysa explained. The women looked at her for a moment. Then one spoke out.

"You will become our Queen. We do not call our Queen by their given name. That is disrespectful." She spoke to Jaysa.

"But Queen, it's weird." Jaysa admitted.

"You will get used to it, ma'am." Jaysa stopped debating with the maids knowing she would not win. So instead she turned to the three mirrors and looked at the different sides of her dress. So much had happened over the week or so, since she had been here. She really wanted to know why he picked her. What made her special? What made her stand out from the other women? He said he was going to make her life a living hell, but then turned around and said it was a joke. A joke huh? She just now realized. Every time she made a comment at him he'd either laugh or grin at her. Was she his entertainment?

Let's see how long it would take to tame her. She could hear his voice in her head. Was that what he thought of her? Because she was the one to slap him, fight against him, was it all for his entertainment? She could feel anger raise insider her. If that was what he had planned, then she would play his game. She would fight back.

"Oh your Majesty." One of the women spoke. Jaysa turned around to see Danzel standing in the doorway. This man will become her husband. She couldn't help but stare him. He was in the three-piece suit. It was made of a black coattail with gray waist coat and black trousers. The shirt he wore was a white winged collar. He wore the outfit well, that Jaysa was actually speechless. She had her eyes glued on him as he made his way towards the young girl. He stopped in front of Jaysa and smirked.

"So a dirty peasant like you can clean up really nice. You look like a normal girl." Danzel spoke jokefully. "You now look like a Queen then a pig that just came out of the mud hole." He spoke the last part quite loud, so everyone could hear him. Jaysa's thoughts were already riled up, but when he said that, it pissed her off. Jaysa pushed Danzel backwards. He didn't see that coming and lost his balance, which made both of them fall on the floor. Jaysa looked up at Danzel and Danzel glanced back to her. He had his arms wrapped around her as if he was protecting her from the fall. Jaysa sat up on Danzel and yelled back.
