Chapter 43

He at first would not let her pass, so Jaysa began to hit the man with the book. Danzel tried to block the hits with his arm, but it still hurt. Jaysa had tears flowing down her eyes. So many emotions were circulating inside her. Anger, pleasure, pain, sadness, and even betrayal. She wasn't sure what emotion was spilling out of her, if not all them. Jaysa was able to circle round the man so she was no longer backed up against the wall. Jaysa's breath was heavy from the beating. She no longer wanted to look at the man and turn on her heals storming out of the room.

Danzel stayed in the same spot. Pain rushed through his arm. He lowered the painful limp to his side hoping the pain would soon go away. He couldn't understand. She was moaning in pleasure and next she was wailing on him with a book she was reading earlier. The question that was really on his mind was what she said to him.

"Those men," he quietly spoke out. "What did she mean by that?" He questioned. Someone touch her? Did someone hurt her? Danzel felt anger build up inside him. His fists turned into a ball. He wasn't mad at her. The beating and yelling he could take. He was mad at the thought of someone besides him touching her. She might think the words he spoke before were a lie, but they were how he really felt. He didn't know if he could say something like that again.

Jaysa stormed down the halls. Her tears have dried long ago. That man was just like the rest of the men. He told her he'd help her save those women, but then he told her he would break his promise. She wanted to wait for him to calm down and maybe try asking again, but he instead felt her up, which she couldn't help but admit that it felt good. Forgetting about what happened, her thoughts were back on saving the girls in the cells. She can no longer depend on him. She was going to find those women and help them if she had to by herself. Jaysa was so far in her thoughts that she ran into a maid without realizing and fell to the floor. The maid noticed her eyes were bloodshot because of her crying so much.

"I'm so sorry." Jaysa spoke as she stood up and help to maid up as well.

"No miss, it was my fault." She spoke back.

"Please don't blame yourself. I was not paying attention. The fault falls upon me." Jaysa spoke in a voice that told the maid not argue with her. A thought jumped in her head. She wanted to see those girls, but not looking like she did. So Jaysa asked the made a question. "Do you know a place where I can go wash my face?" The maid nodded and had Jaysa followed her to the washing room. She cleaned the stain tears from her face. After she finished drying her face, she turned to the maid and asked. "Can you take me to where the dungeon is?" The maid looked at her debating to follow the orders. "Please take me there." The maid finally nodded which made Jaysa smile with joy.

Jaysa, again, followed the maid to the area she was once before. Memories from the past started to flash in her head. She pushed them out. Jaysa couldn't think about stuff like that now. When they were closer to the stairway, the two women were confronted with the guard. He blocked the path, stopping the girls in their tracks. Jaysa stood tall and proud just like her husband and spoke.

"I wish to pass." The man looked at Jaysa replied.

"I don't think so." Jaysa put her hands on her hips and replied.

"I'm the Queen. You will allow me to pass."

"That doesn't mean jack shit to me." The man spat. "If you want to pass, then get your husband to request it. Until then you cannot get by." Jaysa was pissed at the man's response. She turned on her heels and stormed off. The maid followed after her.

"Miss," the young girl called out. "Where are you going?"

"I'm going to see that prick." Jaysa replied. The young maid was unsure to whom she was speaking of. Jaysa stopped, which confused the maid. She turned around and spoke. "Can you please help me find my room?" Jaysa asked. "I'm still not used to this big place. I'm sorry to be so much trouble all the time."

"No it's fine." The maid quickly spoke.

The two women reached two doubled doors that Jaysa recognize. She pushed one of the doors open hoping to find the man she was looking for behind them. Jaysa yelled out.

"Danzel!" Her voice echoed in the empty room. He was not there. She searched the room just in case. Still nothing. Jaysa turned and headed towards the maid and asked. "Where would the King be if he is not in the room?" The maid stopped for moment.

"He could be in the throne room?" The maid spoke back.

"Then can you take me there?" Jaysa asked. The maid nodded. She now knew who Jaysa was speaking about.

The girls entered the throne room. Danzel was sitting on the throne chair and listening to the priest as he spoke about what he needed to do for the future. Jaysa did not care what they're talking about. She wanted her questions answered now.

"Danzel!" She yelled out. Both Danzel and Joseph looked into her direction. She stormed up to her husband whipping past the priest.

"You do not call me by my birth name in public." Danzel hissed. Jaysa was standing by the throne chair and Danzel had jumped up out of his chair when he saw her coming towards him.
