Danzel sat in the throne room with Martin and Joseph by his side. There was an empty chair that now sat next to his Royal one. It was smaller than his, because it was made for the Queen. Danzel was advised by his farther the reason why they remove the chair when his mother passed away. It was a tradition that if the King loses his wife for any reason then they would remove the Queen's chair. The story that passed down was about a man that loved his wife so much that when she passed away during child birth, the King demanded for the Queen's chair to be removed. He exclaimed that it reminded him of his lost love and he couldn't keep going with life with it there. The chair had been removed for several years because of Danzel's mother's passing, and his Uncle taking over the throne for a while, but now it's back. With all the commotion and threats that has stood in their way, his Queen had never properly sat at her rightful spot. Speaking of threats. Danzel was starting at one right in front of him. The man that spoke of his Queen betrayal, then found it to be a lie. That man will pay a punishment for the crime. Danzel sat straight and proud. Harris was shackled in chains that he was forced to wear and also had two guards standing on either side of him just in case the man tried to do anything against his majesty.
"Do you know why you are here?" Danzel questioned the man.
"I do…Sire." Horis quietly responded.
"What was your crime? Please explain." The man stayed quiet. "Speak of your crime." Danzel's voice was louder. The man stayed quiet for a bit longer. He could hear the King growl from irritation.
"My King." The man looked up at Danzel. "I have done nothing wrong!" The man spoke. Danzel stood up from his chair and walked a few steps towards the man.
"You lie to your King again." Danzel hissed.
"She isn't right for you." He tried to stand on his feet but the guards quickly reacted and shoved the man back on the floor.
"I picked her. She is my wife. Do you question your King's choice?" The man shook his head as fast as he could without his nose scratching the floor.
"Our King did not choose wrong. That woman is evil. She will bring this world to chaos. She will-."
"That's enough!" Danzel yelled as he ran down the stairs and over to Horis, lifting his face so that his eyes were staring at him.
"Don't you dare smash her like that? You have no idea who she really is?" He dropped the man's face and stood back. "I will ask you again. What was our crime?" The man was not getting through to his Majesty. He was fighting a war that he knew was going to lose. He hung his head down in defeat.
"I spoke lies about the Queen." He whispered.
"What was that?" Danzel questioned loudly making his voice echo.
"I told lies about the Queen. I spoke ill about the Queen!" The man yelled out. Danzel smirked.
"See now that wasn't so hard." Danzel spoke with a mocking voice. The man could only hang his head. Danzel turned on his heels and made his way towards his throne. He stood in front of it and turned to face Horis. "Horis," Danzel started. "Due to your lies and false accusations. You were about to send an innocent body to their grave. Normally this would just have been a punishment of torture. However, this is not a normal body. It's the Queen. You had said lies about our Majesty and now you will have the greatest punishment of all and that will be dea-."
"Stop!" The doors were opened and Jaysa came stomping inside the room.
"What is the meaning of this?" Martin spoke out. He turned to Danzel. "Control your woman." Danzel gritted his teeth. He watched as Jaysa hurried over to him and stopped by the stairs. She curtsied and then looked at her husband. "Do you truly wish to send this man to his death?"
"Isn't it obvious?" Martin spoke. Jaysa paid no attention to the man.
"Why don't you investigate why he did it? He did say that your Uncle was involved. Why don't you-,"
"How dare you!" Martin walked over to Jaysa.
"You can't come barging in here and then accusing me, especially, of being part of this scheme."
"He said you gave him money." Jaysa spoke.
"Money that does not exist. He said so himself." Martin spoke as he pointed at Horis. Jaysa turned back to her husband.
"Please, before you do anything rash." She begged. Danzel looked at her for a moment. He signed before speaking.
"There is no way to change it. The deed has been done."
"But your Highness." She almost yelled out but kept her voice low so she was not offending the King in public.
"If you plan on defying my decision, then I would kindly ask you to leave."
"But," She spoke out again.
"Now," Danzel said in a stern voice. She knew that no matter how much she begged. He would not change his mind. Jaysa knew that he was doing this for her, but she did not like this type of punishment for the man. She looked into Danzel's eyes searching or looking for another way, but did not see one. Jaysa turned around. She had lost that fight. The young Queen walked over to Horis and bent down.
"I'm sorry." She spoke. "I tried." She stood up and left the room. Horis was in complete confusion.
Why would she say that? She was not right for the King. He thought that to be true. He tried to get her killed, but now he's the one to die, and yet, she tried to save him. Why? He was confused past all odds.
"Your sentence," The man looked up to his King once he heard his voice. "…is death by hanging." Danzel spoke out. The man hung his head as the guards grabbed the man and dragged his limp body out of the room. Danzel heard a chuckle come from behind him. He knew who it was, so the young King did not turn around.
When Jaysa walked out of the room, she was met up with Madison on the other side. The young girl could clearly see that Jaysa was upset. Not saying a word both girls headed towards their place they considered as sacred.
The two girls were reading some books. With the room being so calm and quiet. Jaysa could actually think without having someone yelling at her. Jaysa liked this feeling a lot. She hoped that it would last, but how thing goes, everything must end. One of the maids had come into the library and was calling out for Jaysa.
"Ma'am, are you in here?" Jaysa did not say a word. She hoped that maid would just give up on finding her. However, that luck never came as she was now looking up at the maid. "Ma'am, why did you not answer?"
"Because, I wanted to be alone." She knew she was pouting and not acting like a Queen, but she did not care.
"Your Highness is calling for you. He wants to meet him in the throne room now." She spoke. Jaysa sighed. She got into her feet.
"I'll be right back." Jaysa spoke to Madison as she followed the maid.
