Chapter 371 ( Normality )

Cloud immediately understood the situation, but didn't think much of it. He knew about [Dromi]'s speed, but now that he had expended much of his energy, the beast had ceased to be a danger to his person.

The silver dragon was determined to do one thing, to strike a lethal blow and thus complete his goal.

The desire to devour was growing stronger and stronger as was his desire to return to his former appearance.

Cloud could resist no longer, he let his instinct free as he used his hind claws to land on his prey.

[Dromi] roared fiercely at how slow his reaction time was, only to release what little energy he had left inside him.

Cloud ignored the cold icy aura that was now nothing more than a faint breeze, only to put more force into his footfall.

The poor two-headed crocodile could only roar in fury as it tried to escape its captor's grip, but this time Cloud would not let it escape.

The dragon's strength was relentless and the ice beast could hardly do anything to try to move. The attack of his tail, ended up being useless, the icy aura he had released had no effect on his opponent, his reaction speed had been an effort that had ended in nothing.

[Dromi] could only roar as he felt the weight of the world fall on his body, as if the end was coming slowly.

Cloud smiled at this as he created a small pillar of rock right in the center of his victim's chest.

[Dromi] roared in pain as he felt something penetrate his body, as slowly the forces escaped from within him, as if something was draining what little energy he had left.

"Don't you think it's beautiful?" - [Dromi] said Cloud as he reached out his arm and carefully grabbed a small purple sphere - "I can feel the energy flowing through this small sphere."

[Dromi] slowly looked at the object in Cloud's grasp, only to notice how it was something he recognized immediately - [Give it back].

"Sorry, but the winner gets the prize" - [Dromi] answered Cloud as he returned the sphere without a second thought.

[Dromi] felt his body freeze after losing his connection to his core, only to fall to the ground inert. The king of the frozen tundra had fallen as Cloud roared in victory.

The huge silver dragon quickly began to devour the body of its prey as it felt an enormous power appear within it.

Cloud couldn't contain his laughter when he heard the message showing that he had completed his mission.

New knowledge popped up inside Cloud's head as he felt his heart pounding.

A loud laugh echoed in the surroundings as the huge dragon's body slowly began to shrink at a high speed.

"Ha ha ha ha!" - Cloud's laughter was so powerful that even from a few miles away it could still be heard, only his voice was becoming more and more human with each passing second.

A huge light invaded the area as the dragon disappeared, leaving only a silhouette of one meter ninety centimeters. His blond hair swayed in the wind, his body with swimmer's muscles were visible to all present, after all, he was naked.

The man's eyes were closed, but he slowly opened them, revealing a blue eye with a slit pupil and a red eye with a black pupil in the shape of a cross.

He slowly pulled some clothes out of nowhere and dressed, only to notice the information he had received after completing the mission.

Cloud Strife was back, albeit with slight changes. His physique was less muscular, but much tougher. His muscle mass seemed to have compressed, having less bulk, but being much more powerful.

He checked his body carefully, only to let out a loud laugh before releasing silver wings from his back and taking flight to an unknown destination.

"This is perfect!" - Cloud exclaimed excitedly as he felt the wind on his skin, exactly, skin, not scales.

Cloud quickly flew in the direction where he felt the presence of his subordinate while ignoring the fact that Shio's body had been recovered by Johannes.

"The atmospheric change in [Ashland] is over" - said scientist with surprise after receiving the latest report.

"That is indifferent to me, what I want to know, is the reason and the final result" - answered the current leader of [Fenrir: Central] - "I also want a satellite image".

"Right away, sir" - answered the scientist seriously while typing at high speed, only to frown - "Sir, we have small inconveniences."

". . ." - the leader of [Fenrir] could only frown in response as he waited for him to continue.

"We have no images" - the scientist replied with a strange expression on his face - "In fact, we only have an image of a blurry silver-colored silhouette flying in an unknown direction."

"Just that?" - asked the leader of [Fenrir: Central] with a frown - "So [Calamity] won?"

"That's the thing" - said the scientist - "The size of the silhouette matches [Calamity], in fact, the size of that silhouette is that of a human."

"Really?" - said one of the leaders of [Fenrir] with surprise when he heard this - "Are there any humans that can enter [Ashland] without being in danger?"

"That's what's interesting, the bio-signals don't look quite human" - added the scientist - "We can detect human [DNA], but such it seems that this unknown agent has a strange mutation."

"Is it going through a process of [Aragamification]?" - Asked the leader of [Fenrir: Central] as his expression changed to a serious one.

"We are not sure, but we can say that he or she, is under control" - answered the scientist - "The subject's biosignals are not erratic, in other words, he is not showing symptoms of [Aragamification], but at the same time, it is obvious that his [DNA] has mutated, no, it is better to say that he has adapted to the [DNA] of the [Aragami]"

"A hybrid?" - Asked another of [Fenrir]'s senior commanders as his eyes glowed with great intensity.

"That's the most accurate hypothesis we have" - replied the scientist - "Although we won't be able to discover more unless we make contact with the subject and manage to receive some of his genetic material so we can investigate further."

"I see" - nodded the leader of [Fenrir: Central] seriously, but his expression changed to a curious one as he noticed how the scientist seemed to have something else to say - "Anything else we need to know?"

"Indeed, sir" - replied the scientist with a serious expression on his face - "His biosignals are similar to Cloud Strife's, in fact, the level of compatibility is quite high."

"Are you saying that this unknown subject is none other than Cloud Strife?" - asked the leader of [Fenrir] with surprise - "How sure are you people from the scientific team of [Fenrir: Central]?"

"It's just a hypothesis, sir" - replied the scientist as sweat ran down his face as he noticed the cold and analytical gaze of his current leader - "But at the moment, it's the best analysis we have"

"That doesn't serve me in the least" - said the leader neutrally as he looked at his subordinate - "I need accurate data, data I can see, not fantasies that may end in a dead end."

"I'm sorry for having spoken too much, sir" - said the scientist as he ducked his head.

"For the next time you come with your hypotheses, I want you to at least have a proof to corroborate your words" - replied the leader of [Fenrir: Central] while squinting his eyes - "Is that clear?"

"As crystal, sir" - answered the scientist as he withdrew.

A deep silence pervaded the place as the high commanders looked at each other.

"Well, what do you guys think?" - Asked the leader of [Fenrir: Central] as he looked at the other high commanders of the place.

"Without further information, we can only say that the words of that scientist, are nothing more than unfounded delusions" - replied one of the leaders as the others nodded.
