Chapter 567 [ Orcus - I ]

Two days passed for the group, time that the news spread that they would soon begin their mission to conquer the [7 Great Labyrinths], the first target being the [Great Orcus Labyrinth].

The groups already knew who would be the ones to participate, and even if this bothered Aiko, she had no way of making half of her class reconsider participating in something so dangerous, more so when Kouki was fanning the flames.

Cloud was finishing up with his final preparations, making sure his guns were concealed at all times because he didn't want his classmates to see them, not when he could feel the growing hostility coming from a few of them.

"Hmm, something tells me things are about to take a radical turn" - Rika said, unconcerned about the situation because from what she had heard, there would be no danger for the first few days because the maze was designed to keep the first few levels simple.

"Your words and attitude, they are disparate" - Cloud replied as he gave their guns a final maintenance and checked the magazines, after all, he didn't want things to get out of control because of a mistake of his.

"It's because I have full confidence our skills, even you found a way to be able to make that "useless" skill of yours, the most broken skill of all of us" - snorted Rika calmly as she gave the blond a discreet glance - "Seriously, I don't understand how you pulled this off so fast"

"It's because I've been preparing myself, and you know it" - Cloud replied with a frown - "I may not have had a good childhood, but I've enjoyed it more than enough, even if I can't remember a lot of things."

"I hear you" - nodded Rika as she noticed a group approaching - "I'm going to make some time while you put your weapons away."

"Thanks" - nodded Cloud as he took a last look at his guns and put them away in their holsters that were hidden in his clothes.

When he saw that everything was ready, he left his room and walked to where his companions were.

"I see someone finally came out of his burrow" - Daisuke said disdainfully.

"Do you want me to beat you up again, Hiyama?" - Cloud asked neutrally as he thundered his arms - "Because I can still do it."

"Tch, just wait a few more levels and we'll see if you can say the same" - Daisuke replied angrily as he retreated quietly, though Cloud could tell for sure that his classmate was cursing him in his thoughts.

"I recommend you be careful, he's been acting strange" - Kaori said with concern.

"Relax, I know how to take care of myself" - Cloud replied with a small smile because he could feel Daisuke's growing killer instinct.

No matter how many times he got younger, or lost his memory, there were things he could never forget.

Kaori was about to say something else, when she saw a familiar figure walk in front of them.

"Alright, it's time for us to start our first expedition!" - exclaimed a tall, stocky man who was wearing silver armor - "It is my pleasure as an instructor, to be able to be present during the beginning of your legend!"

"Meld-san I feel as dramatic as ever" - said Kouki as the others let out a laugh at the sight of the embarrassed cavalry captain.

"I ask you to look after my students, Meld-san" - said Aiko as she looked worriedly at the young men who were about to put their lives in danger.

"O-Of course!" - nodded Meld with embarrassment as she looked at the students - "They are my wards, so it is my duty to support them in any way I can."

"Thank you very much" - smiled Aiko as she withdrew.

The surrounding knights, gave Meld a teasing glance as he just averted his gaze.

"Well, it's time, let's go" - ordered Meld as the heroes started their march towards their destination, unaware of the serious changes that would happen during the last hours.

"Ugh, my head hurts" - muttered a woman with long reddish brown hair, combed into a ponytail. She was wearing what appeared to be a Victorian maid's outfit that looked overly erotic in how closely it matched her prominent curves - "Where am I?"

The woman slowly opened her red eyes and looked around as she tried to remember anything, but try as she might, everything remained blank, as if she had just been born - ". . ."

"Hey, are you okay?" - A cute voice asked.

The brown-haired woman looked at the source of the voice, and saw that it was a beautiful young woman with light blue, almost silver hair, blue eyes and a strange outfit that showed much of her skin, but the most important detail, was that she had two long rabbit ears on top of her head.

"Rabbit?" - murmured the brown-haired woman as she looked closely at the girl in front of her because she could feel something familiar.

"What's wrong with it?" - the rabbit girl asked as she frowned, though after a few seconds, she felt a sharp headache as countless visions popped into her mind.

"Are you okay?" - The brown-haired woman asked as she looked worriedly at the rabbit girl.

"Yes, I'm fine" - replied the pale light blue-haired girl before shaking her head - "Anyway, my name is Shea Haulia, it's a pleasure."

"My name is" - muttered the brown-haired woman as she grabbed her head, as if she was trying to make a huge effort in trying to remember her identity - "My name is Belta Lievre"

"Belta-san?" - Shea nodded as she slumped to the ground, tired from overuse of her mana.

"Are you okay?" - Belta asked as she looked at Shea.

"Yeah, just a little tired" - smiled Shea as in her head she was thinking at full speed.

She had the uncanny ability to be able to see the future for short lapses, though this consumed almost all of her mana, leaving her completely vulnerable. The problem was that she had no control over this ability, and it only appeared in critical moments where her life was in danger, or in situations where making small changes could change her life.

Shea was silent as she tried to remember what she had seen, she, along with a small group of women, were accompanying a strange guy who was using some equally strange weapons, but the strangest thing, was that they were trying to stop the woman next to her.

This was strange because Shea couldn't sense any ill intent from this woman, and her vision wasn't showing as if she was a danger.

"Are you okay?" - Belta repeated for the third time.

"Hai!" - Shea nodded with a small smile - "I was just thinking how strange it was to find you in the middle of the woods, unprotected and unconscious."

Belta frowned when she heard this as she started to think, but no matter how hard she tried, she couldn't come up with an answer - "I'm sorry, I don't know what to say."

"Relax, I'm not calling you suspicious, or anything like that" - Shea replied as she moved her hands erratically - "It's just that I find it strange, more so with how pretty you are."

"Thank you" - smiled Belta as she looked familiarly at the girl - "Haven't we met before?"

"No, I haven't seen many humans" - replied Shea as she shook her head - "But I also feel that you are familiar, strange"

"Hmm" - the two women began to think, though after a few seconds they decided to leave the topic for another time.

"Anyway, I don't think it's a good idea for me to leave you alone in the middle of the forest, so I'm going to take you to my village" - Shea smiled because something deep inside her told her that she could trust this stranger.

"Are you sure?" - Belta asked with surprise because she didn't think she would have this kind reception.

"Sure, although if I'm honest, I feel that your stay won't be so good, although it will be better than being in constant danger in the forest" - Shea answered kindly.

"Why do you say that?" - Belta asked with a frown, after all, she didn't think the [Beastman] would treat her badly just because she was a human.

"Oh, it has nothing to do with you being human, it's more of a problem with me" - muttered Shea regretfully - "You see, I have a strange ability and this is why people treat me as a bad omen."

"Bad omen?" - Belta asked with a frown because she couldn't believe her ears.

Shea was the kindest and most tender girl he had ever met, ironically, she was the only girl he could remember meeting, but that didn't mean he didn't understand the young rabbit's kindness.

"You see, I have the ability to see the future when I'm in danger, and people think that I'm the one who attracts all the misfortunes of my clan" - Shea replied regretfully as her ears seemed to deflate - "Everyone thinks I'm a curse."

"Oh" - Belta sighed regretfully as she stroked the young girl's head, as if she were her older sister - "Relax, they don't know what they're missing."

"Really?" - Shea asked as she looked up.

"Sure, and I'm sure someone else will be able to see how wonderful your gift is" - nodded Belta kindly.
