3 - the long way home

She can barely walk, glad she took the replacement bus. It was free since the coach company had one sent. They werent going to ruin a good contract with a school over the failure of thier bus driver. She among many that sat in silence. No one spoke unless it was to request moving out of the way or to exit off at their stop.

"Luna. You going to have to come to our place." Being the exception in a whisper, "You chained the demon."

"And I don't rely in you lot to make this easier." She whispered back, "I will visit but I am not handing it over."

They looked at each other in worry that the chain had already corrupted her. This extra journey time was of some help to get her thoughts together, silence helping with inner thoughts that bubbled many questions and popped with long reflection of the turth. She stays seated past her stop and gets off with them. This is the nice side of this town, big gardens around lovely designer homes. Nothing like where she lives at. She can sort of imagine the insurance and maintenance fee for these places to be expensive. The cars parked around here were new or classic types that been really well loved.

There is no way of her not to ignore which house they were walking to, there was literally a group of demons laughing with beer in hand over a human that was talking about his new electric car. The demons can feel the air change as Luna approaches the barrier of this place. Runic chalk graffiti that was hidden, glows in her presence being this close to the property.

All the other kids crossed over to safety. The low mope tone in passing the guy being all boasting for his car. Luna stayed at this threshold, she didn't feel invited and she certainly wasn't welcomed by the maker of these protective runes. The demons all sort of watched her while the human adult chases the kids in why they were all so upset.

"You should walk in." She lifted her head in surprise to hear Alex. It took her a moment to even convince herself that it was him. But this was Alex, she knew it because he finds her weirdness uncomfortable. For her to stare at him like this, his literally a dead person - she's indeed weird.

"There few reasons why I can't." She steps over to the runic chalk, "This isn't just some charm that wards uninvited anything." She points at it with her left hand, "That's a boundary marker. Meaning this area has eclipsed with a realm of the afterlife." She lowered in looking at the complexity of it, "There is a few families who deals in dark supernatural stuff. Them folks have a reputation across many societies." She tilts in seeing his totally interested in learning from her, "Do you really think that a living person like me should know all this sort of stuff? Seriously man, you should really be asking a lot of questions." She gave pause of thought for a moment, "oh yeah. Your a nyph." She sighed, "You can literally just read the answers you need to know from thin air." He shivered at her bullseye answer, "But don't rely on the information your reading. The things like the internet. You read what you need and take the advice with a degree of questioning it." He nods liking that advice better.

"I didn't know you had two last names." He wondered.

"My biological father doesn't want anything to do with my existence. The moment he does, he will realize that he screwed up. Not only ruining the line of succession for the power that gives them abilities and the parent company giant they control." She stands up and picked up wad of mud, "He is about to face the wrath of all 26 seat elders of the cult society. They are going to make up for lost time in trying to have me converted." She splashed the mud over the boundary marker, ruining it. She wipes her hands on her sides. She sighed just sort of expecting mayhem to befall this place instantly. Sheer panick of demon security and any sort of significance that maybe a few ranked cult members be right here. None of that. Just that the under estimate her for her looks and background. Shabby clothes that overshadowed her resembles.

"Oi, get out of here." One the drinking demons is the only one that came over. She isnt being taken seriously and was being laughed at. Some normal servant was here to brush the mud away and just ignored her.

"She here because of my death. She was invited here by the others." The demons laughed at that and then sort of cleans up act. The demon did so because this was Alex. Alex being dead was news to be reported instantly and there was bewildered expressions of those that this was wrong. Why was his death not recorded and known to the clan the second it happened.

"By the way." She knocked the drink can out the demons hand, "The only worth I see in a demon like you is the ashes I can sale on the market for a few coppers. So take you little wings and get out of my way." She finally makes steps onto the property, "Your nothing more then a garden decoration. Not even good enough for Halloween." In proving a point, she walked through all these demons on purpose. Show that she knows they can't interaction or touch her now. That they are nothing but ghost images on mist. Alex quickly followed her, avoiding the demons on his way past. She makes it to the front door where another runic pattern is. She studies it and considers breaking this one too.

"Who are you?" It seems that wasn't needed if one the cult leaders is right here before her.

"Well I don't know how else to tell you." She crossed arms mirror the rude older lady before her, "That you son is a dead beat idiot that lied or deceives you." She tilts in not caring how rude she is, "That your perfect plan with Alex just left 6 feet under." Posed her hand of showing Alex in spirit form, "Or that his murderer is in my care and you can't convince me to hand over the demon. But don't worry. Lord Wrath will come to collect his dues. It's not like your grandparents sold the family's future or something." She claps and time is at pause, "No actually. Screw you entirely. This cult can be executed by whoever. It's not my problem." She pushed the woman through the door, "I refuse and have said this before. I had renounced my favour in being a tome keeper. Don't come begging to me!" She screams at the whole house. She felt so much better from doing so. Brushed off more dirt and turned away. She walked through the demons again. She gives a rude hand gesture and walks home. She knows her way back to the main market street and from there knows how to get home.

Alex follows her. He for the start of the trip was deep reading and then he was getting confused. Things getting to complicated for him. She can hear him struggling and stops a moment. She unfrozen time. Turns around to him, he glances up and then puts the invisible panel away.

"1st I can't read the invisible glass crystal panel. It is designed to be invisible and untouched to living people. No one can read the information you do from the otherside of it. Nor can you when someone does it to you." She rolled eyes in how he was surprised by that, "2nd thing. My biological father is the living next in line for the cult throne. His father is the current cult church leader. They own the company that has a lot of fingers in shady businesses across the world. All of which are trades between afterlife worlds and this one." She clearly didn't clear up whatever he was really wondering, "3rd. You can't status check me. You're a newbie. You can't even access the guide script for basic protection again sigil creatures." He posed a finger up and then consider not asking, "I know that the demon I chained up is right here." She posed that direction, "I am not going to carry your murderer with my hands. He can continue walking himself. The layers of hell has a literally path for such torture. He just getting a head start with a little practice stretch. Maybe if the court let's me, I can tear his wing off. Can't have him cheating the system." Alex finally pointed a direction to a undertaker. The guy was literally bent double laughing, "I bet that the monarch sent him to spy on me. Undertakers are werid folks after all." This only makes the undertaker laugh harder, "I am sure poor Riddle here will stop choking soon." She returns back to walking onwards home, "The man lost his marbels three Monarchs ago." There was only silence following this. The neat suit is fixed up, "I totally was guessing the nickname by the way. I don't actually know what this guy goes by."

"Its no wonder why sigil marked you as an outsider." The undertaker glares, "You do realize the normal laws don't apply to outsiders. That it's illegal for you to chain a demon. We only excuse some pardon in being grateful of his capture." Alex blocked the undertaker from touching her.

"She is a living person. You can't force things on someone that lives among humans as a true human." Alex isn't wrong either but ignorant of why he can't status check her.

"I will only give this demon to a licensed court hunter. This hunter needs to show me their certification and I need to see that the written court demand. I demand that I am invited to watch the final few hours of the court. I will lawful give any testimony where needed." She had to stop with how he flashed some sort of badge quick at her, "No undertaker. I can't give this demon to a bais standing. Even though you work directly for a king or queen. Your people are also under fire in the enquires. Neutral ground of peace you are meant to represent. There is some among you that are actual cult members in disguise. You may personally be faithful but your organization is compromised." She stares at him, "This has already become a god level stake claim. You all have entered a battlefield that you didn't realize mattered until now." She stomps in how the demon was playing with his chains, "Wrath, you will not be able to escape the nightmare you have cause for all of us. You are part in blame in not just human deaths. You have stupidity to torn holes in many fragile realms and created the utter collapse of several worlds." She lifted a chain, "Don't you realize that? Don't you realize this is a god offense? That gods tend to be sealed into books for this level of danger." The realization does sink and dawn his thoughts. Causing the chains to burden him. She is literally dragging him with her. If this gets any worse, he will be dangling in a gate anchored by her shoulders alone. Thought aside, she sees that the undertaker sighs. He work with someone like her, she was clever and a little to knowledgeable of how things worked. He can only conclude that she was willing to give soul testimony, in that full knowledge that she understood that will do to her.

Alex getting lost with trying to learn, now had the undertaker and Luna helping him. The demon Lord pulls the whole length of this journey, lost in his attempt picture how he managed what she claims. He can't deny that he did something so bad, the sin chains tearing through him are not natural and can't break, regardless of how broken and fragile they appear.

"At least things can't be any worse." Alex muttered and she punched his arm for that.

"You had to say that!" She hissed and only makes her marching home faster. The sin chains are weakling her, her emotional roller coaster of the day and the walled up damn she had blocked her negative energy. All of this time stopping was making a toll of her, she marches the short routes. Sensitive that there was something more to this.
