Chapter 34

"Cain Walter, my child born in darkness." His majesty said, his voice stern yet strangely happy as he looked down at the young Quincy that Haschwalth had brought from Soul Society.

Sternritter B was not sure what exactly was it that his majesty saw in this young man important enough to potentially reveal their presence to the Shinigamis, no matter how low the chances of that were.

True, the young man had defeated a Shinigami captain by himself but rather than this being a feat of power and technique; it was a feat of tricks and wit. Still impressive but not enough for these risks. And definitely not enough to get his majesty's attention.

"I have to admit, I have been caught somewhat unprepared. I would have at least brought a gift or something if I knew I would be meeting you." Cain Walter said with an easygoing smile on his face which almost made Haschwalth reach for his blade so that he could teach this disrespectful brat his place, but before he could do so he noticed something in Cain Walter's eyes.

Fear.

Not quite like the kind of fear that As Nödt would inflict on some poor Soldat in boredom or the usual amount of fear that his majesty would cause in others with his mere presence, yet fear was definitely in his eyes.

This made Haschwalt realize that the young Quincy before him understood exactly who was it that he was standing before, that the man before him could kill him with no effort, yet there was no wavering in his voice or anything else that would make Haschwalth think that he was losing control of himself due to fear. Instead he actually had enough self control to appear laidback.

An impressive self control, far more so than those that were shown by most Sternritters.

"There is no need for that, but I do appreciate the thought." His majesty said with a smile as he leaned forward for a moment before turning to Sternritter B. "Haschwalth, please leave us alone for a moment."

He thought about trying to change his majesty's mind about his order, but not for long. In the end, even at his current sealed state, there was no way that Cain Walter could actually pose a threat to him. Yet as he walked out of the door, his eyes lingered on the form of the young Quincy.

The weird mixture of fear and confidence... Cain Walter knew that there was a reason that he was brought before his majesty other than just being culled down but he also understood the sheer ease his majesty would have killing him, yet he stood in absolute control of himself. There were Sternritters who couldn't control their fear while they were in the same room as his majesty.

Cain Walter... he was a Quincy that Haschwalth would have to keep an eye on.

'Fuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuckfuck...'

That was basically the only thought process happening inside my mind as Jugram Haschwalth walked out of the room after Yhwach sent him out with a smile instead of turning me into a red smear on the wall for the cheeky reply that had escaped my mouth earlier.

By the limbless body of soul king and the name of that monk whose name I wasn't even gonna think, why the hell was this walking mustache of a final villain already making a move! Wasn't he supposed to be keeping to himself until few years later where he would declare a war on Soul Society?!

"Tell me, Cain Walter..." My internal panic attack was interrupted as the mentioned walking mustache started speaking. "...do you think this current world is correct?"

"...correct?" I asked with a frown, not understanding the question.

"The current world we live in is wrong. I am sure that you can instinctively feel it, the wrongness in the very air of the living world. In the very particles of Soul Society and throughout the rest of the creation. It is all wrong!" The king of Quincies yelled the last part as he slammed a fist on the arm of his throne.

This was very worrying. Throughout all of the Bleach, I had never seen the man before me act quite like this other than the time he got defeated. Yet for some reason he felt strongly about this 'wrongness' of the world in a way that definitely wasn't good for one's health, particularly mine. But what made me worry just as much as his act was the way he worded it.

Wrong.

Not unfair, not unjust or any similar terms that one would use in order to describe some corrupt government; which Soul Society definitely was. Instead he worded it in a way similar to a teacher looking at exam paper and trying to teach why the given answer was not correct.

He was talking about facts, not opinions.

"I see that you don't truly understand." Yhwach said with a sigh. "There is no way your instincts have not realized the truth, but your conscious mind seems to haven't reached the truth yet. The problems of the living I guess." His words were worrying but definitely not as much as the fact that he was getting up and walking towards me.

"Let me show you the truth." He said with a smile as he raised his hand, his palm facing my face and started to glow with a dark light. "My son, who is also my brother."

And then I started to scream as the history of thousands of years ran in front of my eyes and I understood what Yhwach meant.

I understood why he thought that the world was wrong.

And I understood... what Yhwach was.
