  My wolf was not impressed, but I was. No person had ever spoken to me like that. And the beast wanted to dominate, but I was the one in charge. "Erina, be reasonable." As much as I liked hearing that my life was hers, I couldn't possibly allow her to disrupt our plan.

  "No, Nic." She stared so deep into my eyes my soul trembled. "I'm being completely serious. I'm not letting you throw your life away."

  I ran a hand through my hair, unable to take my eyes off of her. My heart squeezed with every glance from her. "We don't have another solution. The dragons will overtake us. I won't run." It was pride, but I'd never abandon what I'd claimed as my den, my pack, my mate.

  "Then we'll fight." She said it so simply. Didn't she understand? She pointed to Paxton. "Besides, we have a dragon too."

  Paxton's eyes widened, and he raised his hands up. "Whoa, Beautiful. I'm your eternal servant, but I am not a fighting type of dragon. Dominic was the one that got all that."
