Chapter 51

  Paxton

While Eagon was still reacting to the billowing smoke, I struck. Head winding like a snake, I grabbed the tip of his wing and dug my fangs through the thin flesh. I let go before he could retaliate, raking my back claws down his side.

Eagon bellowed like a bull and taking his own head he pushed me back. He was too big for me to pit my strength against him, so I backed up. But there was one benefit to being smaller, I was far faster than him.

He snapped at my tail, but I curled it away from him, smacking him in the snout with it as I dodged his attack. I gathered my feet beneath me and sprung into the air. I glanced at Erina, making sure she was still okay before turning my attention back to my foe. He hadn't followed me in the air yet, he just followed me with his eyes.

  Perfect.
