Chapter 52

  Nicholas

I was forced to my knees as the pain rippled through my chest. Warren wasn't in much better shape, as he too hit the ground with a thud. Thankfully, we hadn't infiltrated the palace ahead of us yet, but unfortunately we'd been in the middle of a fight with the last of the guard dragons. I dodged to the side of the blade one was about to use, but blood dripped down my arm as it cut into me regardless. The bastards had cut me.Normally, they wouldn't even be able to get within an inch of me.

The dragon walked toward me with a grin splitting his lips. "What? You wolves can't fight after a little cut like that? Pathetic." He took the tip of his blade, pushing it against my neck. "But you're easy enough to handle. No one is going to interfere with my flight." The idiot was spending his time taunting. A rookie mistake, and one that I would make sure would cost him his life.
