  Everything hurt inside. Not just my chest, but believe me, that too hurt. But my entire body throbbed like I'd been lowered in a vat of acid. Every breath made me shake at taking it. "Erina," I mumbled. How much was I putting her through for myself being hurt?

  "Sorry, but that little human of yours has already been taken to Eagon's room, Lord Paxton." A familiar mocking voice reached my ears. My eyes snapped open to meet the brown eyes of the woman from the fight. The woman who'd stabbed me without hesitation.

  "Bitch," I growled. I struggled to sit up but big black bands of steel forced my body to comply. It bit into my skin it's sharp edges unrelenting.

  "Perhaps, but I know my place, and now you know yours. You know the rule is that the victor always gets the spoils. You lost so Lord Eagon is only taking what is his." She chuckled. "I'll enjoy watching her die."
