Chapter 3

"Hey, R." He said with a cute smile on his face.

I couldn't help but smile back. He extended his hand towards me and I stared at it blankly.

  Hand.

Does he want me to kiss it?

  God!

I extended mine and after shaking our hands, I smiled a little awkwardly.

Sarah looked at us and then acted like the most lousy friend: "I need to get going. See you, Rosie!"

  And boom, she was gone.

  Great.

"Well…" he said as soon as she left. I looked at him and he smiled again. "You don't have to go too, do you?"

  "Uh… nah!" I replied.

His smile widened. "C'mon, let's get out of here."

I nodded hesitantly and we went out of the college premises.

We talked for some time. It was not awkward and he wasn't speaking much - but we did talk.

  The day was amazing.

After talking to him - the fifteen minutes I did - my entire day went amazing. That continued the next day and then the next one.

We talked on call, we talked after school and today… he was going to come over to my dorm.

Yes, that's practically illegal - but who cares?

Boys aren't allowed in girls' dorms but he doesn't seem to care about the rules. I still don't know his name.

  Weird, right?

He just wouldn't tell me. Sarah doesn't find it right but I'm too attracted to him to care about that.

It's been over 20 days that I have known him.

Maybe today he'll tell me his name?

  __

I was sitting on the bed in my dorm. My head was running a hundred miles per hour, I didn't know what to think.

  He was coming over!

We grew so close in such a small span of time and this is quite unbelievable.

There was a sudden knock on the door and my breath hitched up.

God, you can do this, Rosie.

"Coming!" I said as I slowly moved towards the door.

After a moment of quick stare at the door knob, I mustered up the courage and turned it. The door opened and I saw his adorable face.

  He smiled.

  "Hey, R."

I smiled hearing his voice and looking at him. "Hey…"

I quickly got aside and gestured to him to come inside. He went inside casually and stood in the middle.

"Uh, sit down, you know," I said as I tried to be a little frank.

He nodded and sat down. I awkwardly went over and sat beside him.

"So…" I tried to make conversation.

"So?" He looked at me and I was suddenly scared because now his attention was on me and I didn't know what to say.

  "Um… well, you know…"

He was looking at me, very attentively and I was stuttering with my words, making me look like a nervous wreck. I didn't know what to say so I looked down and kept my hands on my face.

"I don't know!" I said, in an embarrassed voice.

Maybe it wasn't something to be so embarrassed about - but I hated the fact that I pulled attention and was unable to utilise it, or even make things worse by that.

“Hey, R, it’s alright!” He got up and sat right in front of me, on the floor. I felt it when he removed my hands from my face and then I saw him. “What’s wrong?”

  “Uh…”

He chuckled and got up. “I guess we should go out for a small walk.”

“Maybe, yeah…” I could do anything to get out of that situation at the moment. He nodded and I got up. As I was about moving towards the door. He grabbed my hand. I looked at our hands as my heartbeat rose even higher - maybe more than the last limit it should have been at - and then he looked at me with more attention.

  Damn, look away.

That had to be the first time I thought that. It was definitely because I found myself looking at his lips and just as weird as it was, the weirder part was that his eyes were locked on mine, too.

I didn’t want that to happen.

  No.

  I wanted that to happen.

The next second, he pulled me a little close and my breathing became ragged. He held me by one hand on my waist. My hand landed on his shoulder and I was unable to meet his gaze.

His other hand reached my cheek.

  “R.”

I didn’t look up. It was… not possible.

  “Rosie.”

Him, calling me by my full name for the first time in the last days did something to me and I looked up immediately. As our eyes met, I saw sincerity in his eyes. Those were the most beautiful pair of eyes I had ever seen.

His hand pulled me closer and both of my hands were now on his shoulder - the typical couple pose. He licked his lips as he looked at me and I felt my blush creeping immediately to my full face. I must have been completely red at the moment.

“If you don’t stop me…” He whispered in a rather deep voice. “I am not going to stop.”

His words were out of my understanding for that minute. I didn’t stop him. He didn’t wait and our lips collided for a very sweet, long-awaited and wholehearted kiss.
