Chapter 72 A Person Without a Heart Would Not Feel Hurt

He lifted Wendy's chin and spoke with unconcealed contempt in his voice, "You'll serve me."

Those words made Wendy's hair stand on end.

"He's bent on shaming and crushing me completely.

"Would it do me any good if I were to put up a fight against him?

"Of course not," she concluded inwardly.

"You won't harm my father and brother if I just do as you say?"

Hanson let go of her. "That depends on how you do later on."

After that, he turned around and walked out of the ward without another word.

Wendy closed her eyes. "I guess I'll just have to do as he says.

"I'll just assume that I've somehow lost my heart.

"A person without a heart would not get hurt by anything," she thought.

As soon as they had returned to Yale Mansion, Hanson said to Vincent in an emotionless voice, "Get her the servants' uniform and send her to Tanya's room so that she could attend to Tanya's needs. If Tanya can't bear to make her work, have her clean up Tanya's toilet instead."
