Chapter 65 You Will Die Alone

"I'll talk to her."

These words sounded ridiculous.

But the most absurd thing was thinking he would feel the same way as I did.

To think that he would even care about me.

"Mr. Waller, I haven't gained anything as your wife but have lost everything instead. I have nothing to lose now. So can you please let me go? I beg you."

Phoenix stood a meter away from me with a deep frown.

He stayed silent for a while.

Then, he responded, "I'm tired. Let's talk about it later."

He didn't leave but took out his laptop from his suitcase and began to work in the living room.

On the other hand, I stayed in the master bedroom.

I gazed out the window and recalled how I was never happy as his wife.

That night, I received a call from Matteo.

He asked me to return to Cannonwell Design, but I refused.

It wasn't because Matteo was incompetent, but because he would have more to worry about if I was around.
