Chapter 4

After he dreamt the chasing ugly gorilla, he couldn't sleep again. His cute pimple ballooned that he felt very annoyed whilst touching it. He didn't check to know what the time it was when he woke up.

Well, he never planned to check it anyway.

Chen Ai rubbed his eyes as his sight blurred due to drowsiness. He yawned and got up from the bed. He checked his phone, it was already midnight. No wonder he got so hungry as he didn't ate breakfast, lunch or even dinner because he slept soundly at the very moment he returned home.

As he got up, he walked to the kitchen and rummaged his cupboard, grabbing instant cup noodles and poured it with hot water. He sat up on his chair and waited for the noodles to soften.

The ticks of the clock echoed from his apartment walls, and the peaceful place made him feel bored than ever. He was about to place his head from his crossed arms on the table when his phone rang.

Chen Ai didn't have a mood to pick it up so he simply let his phone rang until it stopped. Chen Ai felt satisfied, but he still got bored. He grabbed his phone and unlocked the phone screen when his left brow raised when he read the name from the said caller.

"CEO" 'What? Did he already fired the incompetent editor that's why he gave me a call? He should have handled it with his assistant. And why the hell did he call this late at night?!'

Chen Ai scoffed and checked the instant noodles he cooked. The noodles were moist and soft so he added the seasonings into the cup. The rich aroma of the cup noodles making the dragons of his stomach rumble, he immediately dig in and stuffed his mouth full.

He was about to put his chopsticks from his mouth when his phone rang again.

"Damn it!" He cursed loudly and picked up the call.

"Yes Sir, how come you called me this late at night?" Chen Ai calmly asked, but deep inside he was about to explode.

"Sorry, did I disturb you?" Shen Xi asked while keeping a smile on his face.

'He's calling this late at night and asked me this question? Is his brain small or he doesn't have brain? He's so damn annoying!'

But he hid his thoughts inside his head and let the 'annoying' CEO being kept in the dark.

"Nothing at all Sir. You can call me anytime." Chen Ai gritted his teeth, clenching his phone in annoyance as he spoke with a sarcastic tone. Shen Xi thought this manager seemed serious unlike the other employees who wanted to hug his thigh all the time. Shen Xi ended up reducing the population of the employees working in the company. But after he witnessed Chen Ai's reliable actions, he may be strict and hot-headed but he love and valued his job a lot. He's a good worker.

Also, one reason is that he wanted to be his secretary.

"Oh, I see Mr. Chen. Honestly, I just wanted to talk something..." He paused, he smirked across the phone and said, "I would like you to offer you a position."

'Huh? Position? What position? What is he up to? Please I just don't want to such suffer dilemma in the middle of the night!'

"What kind of offer is that, Mr. Shen?" Chen Ai asked, he raised his left brow and scooped his noodles with his chopsticks. He shoved it in his mouth.

"About that, let's talk about it tomorrow."

'If you're gonna talk about it tomorrow why do you bother to call me this late? He's a bit annoying, isn't he?'

"Okay Sir. But may I ask a question? Why did you call me this late at night?" Chen Ai asked, after that he heard the person across the phone said, "Well, I just want to hear your voice."

Chen Ai choked.

"What the hell?" He screamed inside his head and his impression towards the CEO dropped to zero.

Is he targeting me? This beautiful creature was targeted by a king kong?!

Thinking about it made him wheeze. Of course, because of his recent dream, he already hated gorillas and especially the CEO whom he treated as a gorilla.

"Sir should I tell you something?" Chen Ai asked. Shen Xi refuted, "What is it?"

"Nothing really, I just wants to say that Mr. Shen has bad sense of humor. Good night, Mr. Shen." After that, he hung up. Shen Xi across the phone was so angry that his pheromones were leaking. However, he thought that Chen Ai was amusing that he wanted to tease him more. Shen Xi laughed bitterly as he plopped on his bed in the room, it was covered with the scent of his pheromones. It was a strong scent of sandalwood mixed with morning dew.

Chen Ai on the other side was so annoyed that he almost throw his phone. Rouye, who just walked inside the kitchen flinched when his royal eunuch screamed. His soft, white fur shook slightly, clearly stated that he was startled at Chen Ai's high-pitched scream.

Rouye: Is he attending a choir? If so, that choir will soon be demolished if they took Chen Ai. His voice hurts my ears!

Rouye decided to sleep on the couch than to bleed his ears.

Chen Ai sighed and proceeded to eat his noodles, he was not in the mood and freaking exhausted to death.

Shen Xi in his room finally calmed down and looked at Chen Ai's phone number. Shen Xi smirked and said slyly, "I have to get you."

Early in the morning and Chen Ai's mood as cold and vast as the Antartic land. He looked at his expression in the mirror and he was not satisfied.

Pimple. Damn pimple. It was so big and red, like a cute version of tomato. Chen Ai fumed in irritance and covered the pimple with a band aid. Gosh, he looked in the mirror and his brows twitched. He looked like a rebellious wolf leader in a street gang. His white long sleeve polo, accompanied by a loose necktie fit the image of a highschool delinquent. Chen Ai fixed his clothes perfectly and wore the black suit, carrying his black suitcase.

Right now, he looked like an employee getting involved in a fight. But the most awaited evaluation of himself is that, he looked like a mafia. Chen Ai sighed and gave his cat Rouye his food. The cat simply ignored him and was fully concentrated on his meal.

As he finished everything, he drove his Lamborghini car to the company. Even though he had a simple apartment, Chen Ai had a fancy car which he bought from his savings a year ago. For him, having a car was his dream.

As he arrived in the company, whispers and hidden praises met Chen Ai once again. Howbeit, what even more interesting is that after the beautiful beta stepped out in the car, they were surprised that Chen Ai's face had a band aid on it.

"Who the hell hurt him?"

"Hell, that man must be a barbarian!"

"Shut it, he's just a beta. He could be beaten up anytime."

"If he hears you, you're dead."

"Bro, why didn't you stop me?!"

"Don't blame me bro, sometimes your mouth speaks louder than your brain so I can only sympathize with you."

"Damn it! The phrase seems a bit wrong!"

"No, I just reversed it."

Chen Ai who heard it: (^_^;) Is that phrase even correct?

He ignored the swarming bees and entered the company. He immediately went into his office. His team members, who talked loudly just now, flinched as they saw the demon in angel's clothing stepped inside the room. The room immediately went silent and no one dared to look at their side. Chen Ai sat on his desk and checked his appointment.

He literally forgot the call last night.

Shen Xi waited anxiously inside his office yet no one named Chen Ai entered. Shen Xi then thought, he must've forgot the call he made last night.

This person, seems difficult than what he thought it would be. So, he took the initiative to call him first.

Chen Ai inside his office checked the documents and edited the manhua since there was editor on his team yet. Chen Ai sighed, he's not beautiful anymore.

And his face seems uglier when his phone rang. He made it clear to the other employees that no one can disturb him at work, yet some certain, annoying gorilla called him again after the ruckus he made last night.

Chen Ai suddenly remembered that he and the CEO will talk about something about an offer today and he totally forgot about it. He sighed and got up from his desk.

Before he left, he ordered Cheng Li to supervise the team until he gets back. And when they behave properly, Chen Ai will throw a dinner party tonight.

Of course, the team had their eyes lit up and worked diligently.

Chen Ai went to Shen Xi's office which is in the 13th floor, the highest floor of the building. He pushed the door towards Shen Xi's office and saw the alpha holding a folder on his hand, reading the contents. As soon as Shen Xi saw the beta arrived in the office, his eyes lit up and smiled. He let Chen Ai sit and they jumped into business.

"So Chen Ai, 25 years old, a young manager in team B. You seemed capable, would you like to be my secretary?"

'Oi choto matte! What kind of offer is this?! I'd rather be a janitor than his secretary! No! Dame dame!'

He pursed his lips and stared at the alpha, he stood up and gritted his teeth, "Sorry Sir, but I cannot accept your offer. Go find someone else."
