Chapter 2

I go out into the hall to look for Daisy to try to talk he to her and find out what’s wrong. I look for her around but don’t seem to anywhere her so I decide to go my dorm ,to get my books to go to the library to get started on my homework and get some studying done. I go into the room and take the books and put them in my bag and I leave . I decide to walk to the library since it’s not a long distance. On my way there I stop at a cute artsy cafe’, I look around and there he is Christian sitting there with a group of people who I assume to be his friends. They all look to be somewhat troublesome and edgy .

He sits among them ,with a girl on his lap, she looks to be a ginger with curly hair who wears a lot of make up .She looks like the girls you would see on Instagram .She is wearing a cute violet bandeau with some white shorts and she has sandals on her feet, she is dressed like she’s going to a party .

I go on to find a seat faraway from where there are a few people, as I’m sitting there I take the little menu placed on the small table .I look at the options I have and decide to go with an iced latte with 2 bran muffins .As I’m sitting there thinking about what I want a waitress comes with a notepad and pencil. ‘Welcome to sunny side café ,is there anything you’d like?” she says in a very high Pitch voice that sounds so annoying . ‘yes please I would like 2 bran muffins and an iced latte thank you.

She leaves and I think back to Christian and his friends ,I try not to look at them but fail miserably as I look to their direction and see Christian and miss ginger curls kissing each other practically sucking each other’s faces off . Eww, I think to myself and look away feeling a bit uncomfortable. I decide to look in their direction one more time and I panic as I realize that everyone at their table looking is looking in my direction with him included.

I feel myself getting hot from embarrassment from being caught staring directly at them. Quickly looking away from them ,I focus on the books I have in front of me.

Casting them another glance I see Christian getting up from his seat with the curly haired ginger girl looking quite displeased .I see him coming this way and decide to take my phone to pretend that I’m doing something. He comes to my table and sits down next to me. The waitress comes back with my food and she sets it down “thank you” I say and she leaves . I start eating and he starts talking . “Hey ,I saw you staring across the room and thought why not invite you to come and sit with us ,cause you seem like you could use some company. And plus with all the staring you were doing I think its obvious you want to sit with us or is it something else. So what do say?” he says this while smirking at me . “Actually I’m fine ,just a bit hungry and doing my homework” I say this to him . “Oh come on, you can’t be fine when you’re sitting alone and doing homework and plus my friends are all really friendly and welcoming . I’ll even pay for your food my treat”.

I ponder on it and actually consider it . “Fine” I finally give in and stand up following him to the table. When we get there he introduces me to his friends and when I look at ginger curly and see her giving me an I want to execute you look. “So everyone this is Kimberly and Kimberly this is Jayson , Zario ,Luca ,Ethan, Connor , Connor’s girlfriend Emily and Rachel.

He says pointing at each of them moving in a clockwise direction . I look at them and smile offer them a kind smile .They all have a beverage in front of them and also kind of have the same aesthetic except for Connor He has light brown curly hair and has jade green eyes and red plump lips . He has a nose ring and is wearing a white t shirt with black jeans and grey sneakers. He flashes me a smile and I swear that it’s the most beautiful one I’ve ever seen, for a second I forget how to use my words. From where I am standing he seems to be flirting with me although his girlfriend doesn’t really take notice of him. The look in his eyes giving me an insight to his thoughts . “Why did you even bring her here Chris, she was obviously fine on her own” the girl I’ve come to know as Rachel says looking every bit of being annoyed and irritated .

“The more the merrier” Connor says trying to make me feel better against Rachel’s statement. “And plus she looked a bit lonely so I thought why not” Christian says . “Here have a seat” Zario says as everyone tries to scooch to make space for me to sit . Zario then pats the space next to him and I sit next to him. “Kim can I call you Kim, what brings you here ?” Christian says . Everyone looks at me awaiting for my reply . “What any normal human being would come to do in a café I guess the need for nourishment” I say and everyone but Rachel erupts in laughter .

“Fair enough I guess” Christian says . “So you guys I saw this trailer for this movie and I really think we should all go see it this Friday what do you think Ethan says with excitement dancing in his eyes .

“ You always want us to go to the movies and it always ends in a tragic way ,remember what happened the last time” they all laugh on queue and I bite into my muffin just to seem less awkward because I don’t know what they are talking about .

“You know what ,let us have a party instead at my house instead or a get together Friday ,then maybe I can find a way to get the movie” Christian says everyone agrees and he says “its settled then”.

“Kim you have to come also” I nod my head in agreement wanting to fit in with all of them.
