She was one of the most powerful vampires in the world—her name alone struck fear into demons and creatures alike.
Yet somehow, he wasn’t afraid of her.
He was infuriating, reckless, and completely human. Everything about him irritated her. And yet—he was the only one who could make her laugh. The only one who could make her blush. The only one who made her dead heart beat.
But she knew it wasn’t love.
It couldn’t be.
Because if he was her mate… she would have to kill him.
"I love you, Myra," he confessed, his voice steady.
She had heard those words a thousand times before.
But when she looked into those lapis-blue eyes, the ones that always held her captive—she almost forgot why she couldn’t say it back.
"I can’t love you."
She had to tell him. Had to remind herself.
But he only cupped her face, his forehead resting against hers as he whispered—
"You will. That’s a promise."
It has a truly unique concept, and I couldn’t stop thinking about what would happen next between Myra and King. The only aspect that could benefit from further development is the world-building, as a more immersive setting would enhance the story even more. However, overall, this is an incredible work of storytelling.
Amazing book by an amazing person, her writing is out of this world
