--Sky's Perspective--
I turned to Dani and Red. "Do you guys know how to make a wheel? We'll need at least one." They both nodded and I smiled, pointing behind them.
"Okay! So we're going to need a wheel, and to build a bucket of some kind. Just focus on the wheel, for now, we're going to use it to haul animals back from the swamp so it's easier to get food. Thank you… what's your name?" I asked the girl.
"It's Lia…" She paused like she wanted to say something else.
"Well, Lia, I want to thank you for your help somehow, is there any way I can do that?" She didn't answer again, but I felt something strange radiating off of her character. I have for a while now, but I didn't want to put her on the spot in front of everybody and make her even more nervous.
She told me that there were more people on this Isle, which baffled me. I had originally thought it was just us, but maybe the idea of more people living here justified the lack of wildlife, besides the fox and rabid deer.
"I'm sorry, I can't think of anything. Helping me is payment enough, I assume." I nodded with a smile, while Red and Dani walked off.
"Hey Domin, could you leave me be with Lia for a moment? I have to ask her some things I'd rather not say out loud." Lia looked nervous after I asked Domin to leave, but he quickly agreed.
"Thanks for the help, Xavier." He saluted again and walked off towards the beach once more to help Ullr with his wounds, and I finally turned back to Lia.
"I sense something off of you. It's not a smell… what is that? It makes me anxious." I asked her. She didn't answer, only showing off another one of her nervous faces. I stood up and scratched my left elbow, unaware that it still hurt me pretty badly.
"No matter, sorry for pestering you. I'll let you heal now." I walked off towards the beach by Xavier.
"How is he?" I pointed to Ullr on the floor next to his two men.
"Richard and Joey say that he needed time to think alone." I nodded, Xavier just told me the two names of those guys hanging around him, but I didn't care enough to remember them.
"Alright, just checking in," I said.
I began to walk away, but Xavier stopped me, "Your nose could use some fixing as well… so I thought, but it seems to be okay right now. I thought it would be broken for sure." I shrugged.
I turned back to help Carl with the house, feeling Lia stare at me the entire time. It was an uncomfortable stare, but I couldn't really help it.
"Well, considering it's getting dark, we should probably get sleep soon. The houses are okay, we have some leaves tied together for a roof, but it's still sort of cold." Carl explained.
"Okay, but tomorrow, we need that cart made for hauling back animals after we hunt them. I'll look into making a bow and arrow tomorrow, and it should be plenty easy. We have something like a life going on here finally!" I yelled out in excitement.
Red and Dani came back from their wheel design, and Domin huddled up in our small, cozy home. Lia decided to join us for the night, to my surprise.
"Ah, she is here. So, let's recollect everything we've learned from today." I called out.
"So, we all know different things and are good at different things. Some of us are strong, some of us are smart, and some of us are in the middle. Based on the current standing of the leadership, it seems like nobody wants Ullr or me to be in that position, but we're smoothly moving along now." I began.
"We found a statue due north in the forest, and it was… empty… and then we moved towards the beach, ate berries, killed a deer, fought with each other, made axes, and homes, and then found Lia. Did I get everything?" I asked. Everybody took time to think before agreeing with me.
"Awesome. We also know now that there's more wildlife due east of here thanks to Lia, so we'll make a cart, and some hunting tools, and take it from there. We need people working on the house, I'd say a minimum of two, while the others go hunting. As long as we get a system going on food, everything will smoothly come together in time. I'd say in about a month or two, we'll have a pretty nice-looking town here." I noticed everybody but Lia was really excited about our upcoming progress, which confused me a little.
"You're more than welcome to stay here with us, Lia. Your friend can stay as well." I pointed to her white dog.
"I-Uh-No… thanks. I should return home, but I appreciate the offer." I shrugged it off, I still wanted to get that map out of her over all things.
"Alright well, any last thoughts before we sleep?" I asked, scanning the room. Everybody seemed content with the information I presented, and with that, I finally laid down, staring up at my respective leaf.
