In that split second I jumped up, ready to thrust my strand sword into Orion, he mimicked my moves.
I remember it all.
Domin. I remember his intelligence, his drive to improve us all... I remember how unfair it was that he had to suffer in the way he did. He had to suffer thanks to Orion's commands to take him down.
For a person my age who was even more capable than me, he got unlucky and lost his life. A life wasted because of a chance wasn't something I could fathom at the time, but knowing that he was gone forever... and that I would never see him again... it struck deep pain in my heart that was instantly turned into contempt and pure hatred towards Orion.
Red. I remember her ingenuity and her wish to find her sister. All of the things she worked for and her attentive mind after Domin died, were something that modeled me. I wish I could talk to her once more and find the right direction to head... but that was long gone now. I would never see her again, and had it not been for Zeal on that beach... she would still be alive. It's my fault, and I want to repay her by killing both Orion and Zeal.
Carl. His optimism, his ideas, he was something special to me that had his life ruined in this war.
Dani was the same way. She suffered major injuries, shouldering the burden of taking out the second strongest member in Orion's ranks. Such a persistent girl with undeniable strength and speed that even trumped me. She was blindingly beautiful and always carried herself with a positive attitude that she must've learned from Carl.
And Ullr. A man I hated with all of my heart from the get-go but learned that not everybody is a terrible person. Ullr, of all people, taught me some things that Carl, Dani, Red, and Domin couldn't teach me. He taught me that hard work can prove anything. Ullr wanted to change to help us all out more, and he did... he was such a big help... but that didn't matter... as Orion couldn't care less.
The man who helped me learn what it means to be a leader was simply killed with a metal pipe and died wanting me to finish this war. Tavian... I wanted to die honoring his wishes... WHY! WHY SHOULD ORION GET TO SMILE AFTER RUINING SO MUCH?!
I could feel time slow down as I thrust my sword toward Orion. I looked at him with total hatred and that veil covered my eyes once more. Our strand swords collided and I was stuck in the air thrusting down toward Orion's strand sword.
The strands reacted once they touched and started wildly bouncing in a range around Orion and I. Cutting up our muscles and faces from the speed, using all of our energy left, Orion and I were at a standstill...
I heard their voices. The voices of the dead, cheering me on. I heard Ullr call me Bossman one more time, and the chills sent newfound strength through all of my muscles. I pushed against Orion's strand sword as much as possible, letting the strands tear me up while I looked down at him.
Their strength... it was supporting my body!
Orion started to lose ground as my sword pierced through his strand sword. We were both stuck in our positions, only depending on our strands to finish this fight. It ripped us apart viciously and even took my right leg off of my body. Since all of the strands were right here, it didn't regenerate either.
With all of my might, I kept pushing, and as Orion looked at me with a nervous gaze... I shouted out one more thing before I killed him.
"THIS... IS FOR ALL OF MY FRIENDS WHO HAVE DIED FOR OUR FUTURE!!!"
The strands burst like balloons and the biggest shockwave I've ever experienced sent Orion and me flying towards the Glassed-Out Isle. We were thrown the remainder of the way to that Isle and I bounced off of the glass floor, taking massive damage until I slowed down and was laid out on the ground.
Orion, on the other hand, had his entire body torn up by broken shards of glass that entered various places all over his body.
I was stuck on the ground, looking up at the sky while panting heavily. I wonder how much I shortened my life right there...
It was completely silent on this new Isle we traveled to. The wind was blowing against the waves, but nothing happened on it regardless. It was so quiet that I could hear Orion's heaving.
I couldn't walk on my own, but I moved my body around until I was looking at Orion from afar. I won... I know I did...
I crawled over next to where he was lying and my muscles gave out again. Orion noticed what I was doing. I was going to finish the job.
I had completely fallen out of my Corrupt Mode and had no energy left. My sword was dented and battered, but my fists still worked just fine. Yet, when I crawled over to him, Orion didn't fight back.
"I'm truly amazed... such a young kid like yourself beat me in a fight... oh how the mighty have fallen," Orion stated. "Hey... I have some requests for you, Sky." He added.
"You think you have any room to suggest any requests to me? After what you've done? You're lucky my sword wouldn't kill you." I told him, but Orion only laughed.
"So much talk about killing... don't you see me right now?" Orion asked. I pushed my body up as much as possible to see two large glass shards that ended up cutting Orion in half right under his ribcage... did that mean...?
"So... will you hear out my requests? Not from White Stone to White Stone... not a friend to foe... but man to man?" Orion asked me.
