My lifespan was being reduced still, but no longer at as fast of a rate as before. It was only 1 hour and 10 minutes, nothing compared to how fast it was increasing before.
Cole slid out of the implant in the steel wall and spit up blood, smiling.
Then, as he pushed his body up, his wounds healed to perfection, and he was no longer panting.
"Sky Asterio... you don't remember my ability, do you?" He asked me. I shook my head while maintaining eye contact.
"Incarnation of Healing? That doesn't sound familiar? You know, the Incarnation to heal back any fatigue or injuries I suffer? Tell me, how do you plan to beat me if I have that?" Cole asked me.
[12:39]
"I'm warning you to leave before you find out. I'm giving you a chance to retreat." I told Cole, and he only laughed.
"Part of my weapon has this really interesting quality to it. When Eirikr made it for me, he put the golden strands in my chain, and called it the "Retriever". Do you know what Retriever does?" Cole asked me again.
He snapped his fingers and just like a worm in the dirt, the chain part of his weapon he called Retriever left the field with the mace head, leaving Cole standing in front of me with no weapons.
Little did he know, that he would suffer great damage now.
I ran at him with vines of ice holding him in place, aiming straight for his neck.
My saber went straight through as he struggled in place... but his neck healed as it passed through.
I cut through his windpipe, his spine, and the rest of his neck... but by the time I fully passed through, it was healed already.
He broke the vine with brute force and swung it at me.
The ice vine wrapped around my saber took it from me, holding it in his own hand and charging at me.
A straight-up saber fight? I've never had one of these before...
I clashed with his blade and grabbed the advantage as soon as we clashed. I was much stronger than Cole in terms of raw strength, but his healing was a huge problem. Cole seemed to grow timider as I pushed against him.
I released some pressure and using a move Orion taught me, fell onto my back while clashing with Cole.
Because I fell onto my back so suddenly, Cole fell on top of me. I placed my foot onto his chest, kicked him upwards so he couldn't move, and extended my saber again with Mom's attack, splitting him in half as I ran forward and repositioned to face him.
His severed body lay on the ground and slowly put itself back together. He probably thought I would give him the chance to heal.
I froze his remnants on the ground and focused on his head after I realized what his body was doing. He can't heal parts of himself that have disintegrated.
His body slowly repaired itself with existing strands in both parts. His bottom half would've reconnected had I left it alone, but because I put such a high concentration of ice over it, he had no choice but to stare at me with a glare of unforgiving intent as I closed the distance to his head.
I slammed the saber into his head, but as soon as I did, his weapon returned, shattering the ice, hitting me off of him... and throwing Faith into me as well.
"It retrieves people! Can you believe that?!" Cole said with his repaired body.
I pushed myself up and covered Faith as best as I could while his mace head flew over to us.
Can I take another hit like this?
I watched as the mace head came toward my face... but I had nothing to worry about, as Faith squirmed out of my cover, and cut it in half without breaking a sweat.
I remembered her ability... and how it could remove any projectile coming for her.
"Dad, it seems that Cole wishes to die. We haven't fought before, but move how you want, I'll play off of you." Faith said.
For the first time since Dani, I saw somebody summon a golden saber with intensified eyes that fixated on her opponent.
"So be it! If there are two of you, then that's twice the amount to heal!" He yelled out.
I ran at him and Faith took a wider turn around Cole's body. I can't worry about her position, but I can't help but understand what she's doing.
A direct clash with Cole from my end, and a sneak attack from hers. Well, maybe not a sneak attack, but she seemed fixated on getting him to forget about her.
I pushed myself toward Cole and stopped the mace head with a pillar of ice. I pushed against his Strand-Chain on his weapon and as soon as I did, Faith slid between both sets of legs, cutting the backs of Cole's knees, and causing him to drop to the floor.
The mace head came close to me and Faith flipped over Cole's body and cut the mace head with ease... and she did something else.
Faith changed the shape of her saber to resemble a boomerang and threw the saber around Cole's position while running behind me.
"Run forward, quickly, please." She asked me.
I closed the distance between Cole and me and I slammed my saber into his shoulder while he was stunned by Faith's performance.
Just like Ullr and my attack on Dante, Faith ran up my back, redirected the boomerang above Cole's head, and split him in half.
Vertically.
She landed on the ground with a slick slide, catching the saber in her right hand, and panting with her glowing eyes.
Simply amazing... Faith had used my past experiences to help me fight here... even using some of the tactics that I came up with.
"Impressive... but, it's not enough to kill me," Cole said, repairing his body. I let him do it that time so I can see how it actually works.
It's nothing special... strands are just repairing his body faster than Faith and I could deal damage...
