The Beginning of Everything

Park City M

"Ah! I'm sorry," said the crasher, looking worriedly at the girl he hit.

There was a strange sting at the sight of that gaze, as the blue and amber met each other in a locked glance.

Yes, just a glance, because then one of them immediately looked away and it was Gretta.

"It's all right," Gretta replied, standing up straight again, then passed the man who turned around and watched her from behind.

That woman…, the man thought curiously.

Back to Gretta, who was currently walking towards a shower and a public toilet not far away. She drank water first, then entered the toilet cubicle there just to fix her unkempt appearance.

In the cubicle, Gretta sat on the closet with her hands over her face, holding back the sobs that almost escaped her lips.

She even took small breaths repeatedly, in order to eliminate the effects of the trauma so that it would not be prolonged.

Really, let alone remembering what happened last night, it occurred to me that her body was shaking again and she didn't want this to continue until she got home. Especially if her grandmother and mother knew about this incident.

But, what if they found out?

"No, don't let them find out," Gretta whispered with a small shake of her head.

After that, she also ended her sad daydreaming, leaving the room when she felt that she was quite better than before.

A moment later…

Gretta finally arrived beside a towering gate. Before going in there, she took the time to take a breath, hoping that her facial expression could return to its usual, flat expression.

Forget it and pretend that last night never happened, Gretta thought to herself.

After that, she walked towards the gate with a guard standing and saw her in shock.

"Miss Gretta!"

The guard hurriedly opened the special small gate on the side, then let the young lady inside. Then Gretta, she stared at the palace-like building in front of her with her heart beating fast.

Oh my God, I hope all is well, Gretta pleaded in her heart.

Slowly she walked along the garden which she looked at last night with a feeling of longing. After that up the stairs with a servant who opened the door.

But, why does the maid's setting look weird, what's this?

"Miss Gretta..." whispered the maid, making Gretta who heard it wince even though it was hidden.

Entering the deeper part of the living room, Gretta made goosebumps with the situation that for some reason became increasingly tense.

Thump! Thump! Thump!

Finally now she arrived at the family room, the room that was usually quiet now saw a woman she knew sitting. However, that wasn't what made her feel bad for a moment, but rather a familiar female voice to her ears.

Her own voice to be exact.

The ocean-colored eyes widened instantly, when they found the woman's face lifted and now stared at her sharply, disappointed.

Gretta's body suddenly stiffened, feeling like her world was collapsing when the cold, flat voice reached her ears, not to mention the sound from her cell phone that she could still hear.

Mom…

Gretta could only call out the name of the woman who was staring at her in the heart, with a deathly pale face as the woman—the mother came over and slapped her hard. Yes, so strong she fell down.

Plaque!

Brugh!

"How could you do this, Gretta!"

The mother—Esmeriana looked at her daughter with mixed feelings. Even though she hated her daughter because that face reminded her of her ex-husband, still as a mother she loved Gretta in silence.

There was no answer, Gretta just kept silent between hearing the voice that was still heard from the cellphone and also her mother who was staring, as if demanding an answer.

"Answer me Gretta!"

Again, Esmeriana couldn't contain her anger and disappointment. She was still waiting when her daughter finally spoke, with a stuttering tone that made her freeze for a moment, staring in disbelief.

"I-I was framed by Starla and Elena, Mom. Then Darren came and took me to the room. He raped me. He abused me harshly and I was powerless against him, Mom. How is Mom? I'm so scared."

Thump!

Like being crushed by thousands of tons, Esmeriana was petrified by the harsh reality of her life. She did not expect that her daughter would get this ordeal, especially when she was framed by her own friends, two girls whom she knew as her own mother's adopted granddaughter, Gretta's grandmother.

"Gretta..."

Esmeriana was only able to call out her daughter's name with a quiver. Especially when she saw her daughter's shoulders shaking more and more, her sobs getting louder and now even kneeling in front of her.

Which mother's heart is not broken to hear that? Even though she hates Gretta, it is only her protection so that her mother doesn't hate Gretta even more because of her stature that is very similar to her ex-husband.

Why did she stay away from her daughter, as if throwing Gretta away and seeming to show hatred instead of love.

In fact, when she and her ex-husband were still together, she felt like a perfect woman as a mother of two twins. But, why is her life like this right now?

Now, only regret remains when witnessing her daughter's destruction. Where the destruction experienced is not just a trivial matter, an honor that will not return even if it asks with tears of blood.

Sob…

Esmeriana gasped when she heard another sob. She quickly knelt down and hugged Gretta's trembling body, with a tight reply from the princess who now drowned herself in her mother's arms.

How long had she not hugged her daughter like this? 5 years? Ah! Countless how many years she had neglected to carry out her duties as a mother.

She has not only failed but is no longer worthy of being called a mother, because she is too alpha with her obligations.

Esmeriana burst into tears when she heard the princess's slashing sobs, which she had always watched from afar. She did not know if it felt suffocating like this when she felt the fragile body in her arms.

Is this daughter not eating properly? So that this body enters completely in one hug without any effort.

Oh my God, why is it like this?

"Mom, how about this, what if Grandma finds out. I'm scared..."

Gretta's voice sounded even more squeaky again, bringing Esmeriana to her senses and bringing Gretta's deathly pale face in front of her.

The tears made her heart sting even more and Esmeriana rubbed it roughly, shaking her head in disapproval of what her daughter had said.

"No, Grandma can't know. I'm going to ask someone to remove the video from the media, don't worry, no one will know about this video. Yes, Gretta," Esmeriana said as reassuringly as possible, looking at her daughter earnestly and Gretta seeing it nodded.

She stared at her daughter's bruised face with regret, when she herself added color to the skin of the face and she was shocked when she was carried back into a tight hug by her daughter.

Oh my God, my daughter.

Grip!

"Sob…, I apologize, Mom. Sorry for all the behavior I did," Gretta muffled after hugging Esmeriana back tightly, who replied no less tightly.

"Shh…, as long as Grandma doesn't know, everything will be fine-

"Gretta!! Where are you?"

Thump!
