CHAPTER SEVEN.

It was Dawn and most people could be seen already preparing for work. It was a Monday and the busiest day too. I was getting bored by sitting indoor with no one to talk to. How long will I keep hostile to others? Why not just mingle for the last moments before leaving? I rubbed my eyes and yawned on my bed, rolling over, I fell from the bed.

"Argh! Everything is so frustrating!" I yelled and jumped up. I was going for the early morning exercise and for my job, to hell with it. I put on my pajamas and came outside. There I found my neighbor Jimmy. Perfect, this means I won't go jogging alone on the street. He had pride written on his face always because the young girls would do anything to be his, certainly because he was handsome and man! He got the body build. I waved to him, but he didn't wave back, rather he was rude or perhaps warning.

"Don't make me stay back late" he said, and I smirked. He was right, I always walk instead of jog because I had a camera which I always used to capture anything fascinating before my eyes, but now I lost that camera.

"Can't you be a gentleman for once?" I barked and walked closer to him.

"But you aren't a gentle lady… you're more like the serious type and hardly smile to guys like me" he replied.

"Snap out of it! Are we going or what?". I asked as he groaned at me. Jimmy didn't reply, but his gestures implied am in. We jogged across the street and I had my headphone on just like Jimmy. This time around, he was dancing across each street we passed, which was wonderful. I was running exhausted because this man didn't seem tired, but I was, and I wouldn't want to prove a weakling, so I strive. He stopped at a place where people gathered and clapping at the rhythm of a song. Jimmy smiled at the being, and I guess it must be his crush or girlfriend. I drew closer and found out it was a man who was playing the guitar with smiles. His voice was captivating, and it made almost everyone smiled except me. I was just waiting behind for Jimmy, since he was my anchor. I imagine I was in the ship and the sail was about to begin when the captain suddenly heard a music note playing on land. The sailor beckoned to him that the passengers were ready, but he raised his palm high.

"Find me that singer" he whispered. I was more like the assistant captain, that's if he would make even make me his ally even in his nearest future because we are just like cat and rat, never agreeing on anything. I warned him we had to sail to avoid the storm that would take place sooner, but he replied with an emotional tone.

"Am in love and until my missing rib is found…we go nowhere"

"What!" I suddenly yelled and the music stopped. Everyone stared at me and I faked a smile. I must have yelled aloud from my thoughts that made everyone in the real-world know. I think it's time I stopped imagining. The man raised his head at me and removed the hat from his head and smiled at me.

"Hello pretty" he waved, and the people gasped with humor. Did I ask them to add tone to this scene? What was wrong with calling me pretty? I didn't reply and looked away so that he wouldn't enchant me, just like he did to Jimmy.

"Awn, maybe she's shy make me yours handsome" a girl exclaimed with blushes and I shook my head. Isn't she meant to be in school? Rather than chasing after guys that would deceive her. Jimmy was by my side, he had a sad face on. Was he jealous that his crush was speaking to me and not him? He was weird, man! Why didn't he tell me he was gay so that I can officially announce it to any girl who walks his way?

"Answer your name!!" They echoed as I narrowed my eyebrows at him. Was he asking me of my name? No way, I'm not getting entangled with anyone since I would leave this damn place. I held Jimmy on his arm and smiled evilly.

"If you don't mind, we have somewhere to go" I beckoned and blinked my eyes at Jimmy who seemed confused, and I dragged him along with him.

"Have you forgotten, you've got work to do today" I reminded, removing my hand off his.

"You don't need to be a reminder… I know" he said bluntly.

"That person was just trying to be nice, you don't need to be rude to him" he furthered. Now I get it, he is defending his heartbeat.

"How was that rude… I don't even know him" I reprimanded.

"Enough of the argument, I just wonder how your boyfriend would cope with you" he mocked while I gave him a daring glare.

"We could practice that now" I suggested, and he laughed. In the next generation to come, it wouldn't be possible.

"Do you care for ice-cream? It seems you're hot inside and need ice to take out the fire" he responded, diverting the topic.

"Since you insist I would"

"I wasn't begging, I was just…"

"Are going to get me the ice-cream or start an argument?" I snapped and he scoffed at me. I smiled to myself as he walked to the ice-cream shop to get me one. Being a boss lady is great, right? I know, what am lacking is an employee, but what job exactly would be good for me? Argh, not again, maybe I wasn't bound to work, perhaps something awaits me that I haven't figured out yet. Being lost in thought, I almost stumbled in someone but thank God he held me from falling.

"Hi" the being gestured, and I groaned silently. Why this musician again. I waved with a Stern look and head down.

"Most times you should smile, that's what makes you stronger" he quoted, and I raised my head to see him clearly, but his hat was covering his face. So annoying, who was this mysterious man I kept bumping into.

"Thanks for the wo…" I haven't even finished my statement before I realized he was gone.

"Here you go." Jimmy chanted, placing the ice-cream plate on my palm which was opened.

"Who's that guy we met earlier playing the guitar?" I asked. Jimmy looked at me in a kind of way that expressed" like seriously?"

"Why do want to know? Are you now interested?"
