Not really a lie

Pulling his self out of his thoughts to focus on his mission on finding out more about this secret relationship Alex has been hiding with the beautiful little human Princess, and how he can entertain her today. He thought maybe he should go ahead get better acquainted with her.

"Princess Alexis what did you have planned for today?"He ask, smiling charmingly.

"I didn't really have anything planned, what is there to do here at Eddington Castle?" She replied , thinking about what Alex had said, he made it perfectly clear that he didn't want them to go outside the castle grounds. So a trail ride was out of the question and she didn't even want to think about that zombie movie again.

In response to her question Jackson started listing activities he thought she would be interested in. He had seen the

pictures of her on the internet competing in different types of sporting events. He already knew some things she might like to do.

" The castle has a pool in the basement, it has a diving board and a slide, we could go for a swim. Also down by the pool is a ping pong table. There is a tennis court in the back, on one side of the court there's a basketball goal, Alex and I used to play a little one-on-one. Sometimes we would just shout a few hoops out there. We could watch a movie,or just take a walk in the garden. Does any of these things sound interesting to you?"

"Let's play tennis. That sounds fun and I could use a little exercise."

"Tennis it is,"he replied enthusiastically,"Let me escort you back to your room so that you can change . I still have a room here in the castle. After I change, I will come back and escort you to the tennis courts ."

"Ok, that sounds good, I really don't know my way around yet. But what I have seen so far it's a beautiful Castle." Lexi replied

Jackson and Lexi head out of the dining room. Prince Jackson Eddington is smart,smooth and diplomatic, with a charming and cheerful personality. One of the finest examples of what a well breed Prince should be .And he is determined to find out how long his damm sneaky brother has been dating the hottest girl in the country with out anyone finding out about it. So he starts his his diplomatic integration .

"Princess Alexis how long have you known Alex?" He nonchalantly ask as they strolled down the hallway.

"Uh .. about two years now." She didn't lie to him, the first time she talked to Alex, he was in a conference call with her father. Her father and Alex were discussing the new laws they had both passed to discourage hate crimes.She didn't know if she should tell Jackson the whole truth , since Alex hasn't told him anything about them.

Jackson glanced over towards her and continued his questions. Her answer just didn't seem to make any sense. He wondered how the hell Alex could hide being romantically involved with this little beauty ,everyone in the whole damm country knows who they are. There's no way they could step outside together with out reporters surrounding them.

"Princess Alexis where did you meet Alex?"

Lexi continued looking forward leisurely strolling down the hallway nonchalantly answering his questions . "At my father's castle."

Her answer seemed reasonable to him,it wasn't uncommon for King's and other diplomats to visit the Castle in another Kingdom. And he knew Alex and King Charles had been working together for a while now on different projects.

Slowing his pace a little he glanced back over at her, sounding a bit sympathetic .

"It must have been hard for you and Alex to date with him living so far away."

"Uh, Alex and I haven't been on many dates like normal couples. I just graduated from college and really didn't have time to go out."

She tried to answer all Jackson's questions as honest as she could. She knows that when they announce their engagement every one will be asking them questions, because she and Alex have never been seen in public together.

She had planned on spending more time with Alex before they announced their engagement. She is attracted to him, no

actually she has had a huge crush on Alex every since she was sixteen years old. She would hug her pillow at night dreaming about what it would feel like to be in his arms.

But they haven't had an opportunity until now to form a romantic relationship. She never dreamed Alex would be accused of kidnapping her on their first date. Now they need to move forward,before the hate groups can form any type of protest .

Alex and her father have already passed laws for Vampires and Humans to legally get married.And the punishment for a hate crime against the couples are very harsh .

Despite the harsh punishments the hate crimes are getting worse. Most humans and Vampires live in harmony with each other. But as it becomes more common for mixed couples to get married. There has been

large protests recently the hate has been spreading through the country like an infectious disease.

Now this is already happening to her and Alex it's hard to believe, Alex a well respected King has been accused of kidnapping her.

She remembers very well how she and Alex started talking about getting married.She was in her father's study when she over heard a conference call between her father and Alex about a mixed couples house that had been burned down and how a riot broke out because some of the people still don't believe in mixing of the species.

She has heard some very narrow minded people talking about the mixed couples, sometimes they would call the couple trashy or say they need to stick to their own kind.

She remembers making a comment that it would be nice if a very popular mixed couple openly got married. So more people would accept the mixing of the species. Mixing of the species isn't new, vampires and humans have been living together as couples for a very long time now. However here recently there has been a rash of hate groups from both sides. Humans spreading propaganda that vampires are trying to overtake the country by creating half blood children with humans, because humans are a more fertile species. The Vampires have also been spreading their own lies, by saying that the humans are trying to weaken their species creating half-blood children that aren't as strong as a full-blooded vampire.

Alex knew what all the reporters said about Lexi . The reporter's have always praised her for all the fundraisers and charity events she is involved in. She is always helping the people in the country, she has ran in marathons, participated in a door to door food drive for orphanages across the country .By actually planning and by going door to door collecting food. She's also sold raffle tickets for the local high school to buy sports equipment. Nothing seems to be beneath her when it comes to helping people.

Everyone says she never views herself better than anyone. The news reporters call her the people's princess. Young humans and vampires followed her on social media .

Every where Lexi went the cameras followed her. Even the trashy tabloids praised her.

Alex has a similar reputation in his kingdom because he is a fair and compassionate ruler .He has worked hard to make his kingdom thrive and make it one of the most desirable places to live. The news reporters have always praise him for his hard work.

And when Lexi made the comment about two popular people getting married that day ,Alex teasingly said they should get married. And after they thought about it for a while ,they decided it might actually work.

She didn't disclose to Jackson that she and Alex had only been talking to each other through video chats and text message .

Jackson was thinking about what she said . He just couldn't believe his brother never brought her to his castle in the two years they had been together.

But as he thought more about it, Alex hasn't been with any other women in the last two years. Actually every since Alex became King twenty years ago he hasn't had a girlfriend. He would dance with some woman old and young alike at the annual balls held at the Castle. Or take one of his mother's friends daughter to the theater when he got lassoed into it.

Jackson wondered if perhaps when Alex said he was out of town on business,he was really going to see the princess . Jackson was happy with himself , he felt like a real Sherlock Holmes and didn't ask Lexi any more questions.
