Dragons and Unicorns

Ethan stood dumbfounded, speechless nodding his head for a few minutes, finally his words came bubbling out none stop asking them one question after the other. " what do you mean, another species?"Like a fairy or something?"

Jackson chuckled, but set calmly with Karmen held close to him, answering every question he threw at them.

" yeah, Something like that, and I would say giving the fact Karmen's not a very big person a fairy might be a good guess, but I never heard of fairies having fangs."

Confused and shocked , Ethan had missed a lot of Jackson's explanation just a few minutes ago ,he shouted out

" fangs?" Which came out of his mouth more as a question.

"Yeah fangs, like I told you she bit me but her's aren't very big, there small similar to my half blood cousins. That's the reason I feel our DNA test was contaminated at the lab." Jackson explained not bothered by the fact Ethan didn't catch everything he had just told him.

This was just unbelievable to Ethan, karmen had never bit anyone not even when she was a toddler, she wasn't aggressive or anything even close to it.

"Wait a minute, your saying she just jumped up and bite you. Like a mad dog "

Ethan ask him dazed and baffled at what he was hearing

Jackson stammered struggling to come up with the right words, how could he explain it to her brother ,she had bitten him when he took her virginity .He certainly couldn't just come out say that.

"No, no, it wasn't anything like that. It was when ,I well .... uh..,it was after I bite her." is the best explanation he could come up with at the moment.

Jackson was glad Ethan moved on past that subject and ask him a different question one he was way more comfortable talking to him about."

"Why don't you just take another DNA test?"

" We will, but I didn't think it would hurt anything to give this book a good look . Giving Karmen's theory combined with the science backing her up."

Ethan glanced over at what Karmen was reading . At the top of the page he seen it was the table of contents , not to far from the top he saw the word Dragon written in bold letters. Reaching over he pulled the book towards him briefly scanning the page with his eyes.

"Why this book ? it's about dragons and unicorns and shit like that." He ask with sincerity , his heart aching for his little sister who was desperately searching through the thick black book earlier for a

answers to her identity.

"Because this book is really old and it lists vampires as being mystical creatures. And what I figured if a different species is living among humans and vampires it could possibly be in this book."

Ethan look down at the long list of creatures in the table of contents . Stumped and puzzled, he ask Jackson "If you have no Idea what your looking for how do you expect to find it?"

Jackson shrugging his shoulder, clueless on what to do our even how to start looking for a different species. Hoping to gather more information he told Ethan "Well, I was hoping you might be able to give us more clues on what we're looking for."

Shaking his head his mouth parted, but his head was a blank, he couldn't think of anything that might be helpful." I will gladly tell you anything you ask , but I don't know of anything that might be useful right off hand."

"Do you remember anything about the day your mother found her."

" Jackson I was just a little boy only four years old. All I can remember was she was little and I wanted to play with her. "

Go on Ethan, just think back to that day.

Jackson encouraged , " Do you remember if it was raining or what you were doing, was you playing. Ethan set silently looking at the table for a few minutes before he spoke.

You know Jackson, I'm not really sure, but I don't think we were even at our mansion. I believe we might have been out in the country on our ranch. And the reason I think this is because father was actually making pancakes. So I know we couldn't have been at the mansion, we have a chef at the mansion."

" That's good go ahead, tell me what else you can remember. Jackson spoke sounding optimistic and reassuring

Ethan put his hand on his forehead, closing his eyes thinking back to that day ,. A smile crossed his lips as he told Jackson the tail about the day his life changed forever , the day he became a big brother .

"Well I remember mother was going to the grocery store , we needed milk and Juice for breakfast. I think, no I know ,I was going to go with her. But when we tried to open the door something was in front of it.

Mother reached around and pulled it to her

It was one those little carrying things they use for babies, and Karmen was inside of it.

Mother reached down and picked her up, but she wasn't crying or anything. Mother told me to run fast and get father. And the next thing I remember was Karmen setting in that little carrying thing in mother's bedroom. I wanted to play with her but Mother told me she was to little to play. I waited until mother left the room and pulled her out of that little carrying thing and Karmen crawled underneath mother's bed and she wouldn't come out.

I remember mother accused me of putting her under the bed. And when mother crawled under the bed karmen crawled out the other side . Mother grabbed Karmen and ran through the house screaming . She was shocked that karmen could crawl because she still had an umbilical cord attached to her belly."

Jackson eyes went wide, when he told him about that day. This could be another clue, vampire babies can't crawl when there newborn and nether can human babies.

"So , Karmen isn't just advanced academically, it's her motor skills to." Jackson ask him curiously.

"You know I didn't think about it much when we were little kids. But yeah ,now that you mentioned it ,she could always do what ever she wanted to do. But haven't you noticed she's kinda of a sissy. Me and Lexi would be playing sports and she didn't want to get her hands dirty."
