Intelligent and resourceful

Jackson still wasn't sure what species they were looking for but karmen definitely wasn't half vampire. Vampire babies did crawl and walk a little faster then human babies. But only by about half the time it took for human babies. And a half blood vampire baby takes almost the same amount of time as a human baby to crawl and walk. "Ethan you may not think you know anything that can help. But your story put us one step closer to what we're looking for . I'm pretty sure now Karmen is a different species." Jackson said this in such composed and tranquil manner. As if he were telling them what was going to be served for dinner .

However Karmen wasn't as cool and collected as he was. Tears rolled down her cheeks she sobbed and mumbled into his chest. " What if I'm something hideous and evil, what if that's the reason my real mother didn't want me." She held on to his arm and her chest heaved uncontrollably.

What she said made his heart skip , He still wasn't sure what they were looking for, but one thing is certain this unknown species, is probably going to be in that book and the description is most likely not going to be the most accurate. It's a real possibility it will be among the most notable and cunning creatures in the book,depicted as devious and evil maybe.

Something Karmen's not like at all, but for a whole species to be undetected for years they had to be smart and clever. After all they blended in with humans and vampires alike for no telling how long maybe even since the dawn of time.

He felt like he needed to warn her about what she might see written in that book ,before she discovered it on her own and believed everything she reads. " Babe I'm going to tell you the truth, don't be surprised when we find out what you truly are that is exactly what it might say. Because people are afraid of what they don't understand. And don't forget my grandmother was mixed with the same species you are . And that same blood runs through mine and Alex's veins to."

Lexi and Ethan also tried to ease her mind, and make her feel better about everything she was going through, " Karmen , Jackson's right the only thing you really know for sure is the species your mixed with is an intelligent one." Ethan told her as she clung onto Jackson's arm .

Lexi also spoke trying to reassure her the species she's mixed with isn't evil. "Alex speaks highly of his grandmother she loved him and took care of him when he was little. Does that sound like someone who was evil."

Their comforting and optimistic words put her heart and mind at ease . Jackson could feel her grip on his arms relax a little, and she wasn't digging her finger nails into his skin as hard as she was before.

Jackson reached for the big black book that was now sitting in front of Ethan ,he pulled it over to him, " Babe tell me what you and Lexi have been doing?"he said to her pecking her lips and wiping her tears away with his thumbs.

More relaxed now her heart beat steadily. Taking some comfort from knowing Jackson and Alex don't seem to mind or even care if they are mixed with an unknown species.

Pointing at the page with the table of contents written on it, she took a deep breath, explaining the process she and Lexi had been using.

"I have been scanning the table of contents telling Lexi names of creatures I definitely couldn't be so that she could write them down on that note pad to eliminate those pages in the book,"

"Let me take a look at the ones you have eliminated and I'll take a look at the book.

Maybe I can help you eliminate more."

His eyes scanned the page, he glanced over at the notes she had been taking. She had only eliminated the most obvious ones from the book. He pointed to the ink pen telling her " Babe write these down they don't have fangs, witches page 63, fairies page 93 you can also write down , Brownies page 103 and Banshees page 189. Babe

with what I know now we can eliminate creatures who only survived on brut strength alone, we know the species were looking for is intelligent , shrewd and resourceful given the fact you could crawl as a newborn baby, we are probably looking for a species that is precocial , or maybe one that was never born in the first place a created species and perhaps when they mixed with a human or a vampire it set their mobility back a little."
