Lunch with mother

A door man in a black coat and black trousers stood in front of the luxurious penthouse apartment building watching children play in the immaculate park across the street when the well recognizable limousine pulled up. He snapped to attention as the driver walked around and opened the door from the two Royal couples.

Alex got out immediately putting his hand out for Lexi. Jackson did the same only briefly glancing back over his shoulder. There mother's penthouse is heavily guarded from all entrances and Alex had already sent some of Rich's men to patrol the streets. He felt comfortable enough to not even survive the surroundings before Lexi stepped out of the car.

When they stepped closer to the entrance the door man bowed with a pleasant greeting. "Good morning your Majesty, is Queen Sophia expecting you?"

" Yes Henry, I called her last night she even cooked lunch for us. I'm sure she is already pacing the floor wondering where we are."

" I have been told your mother is an excellent cook, I'm sure you will have a delightful visit." He said opening the door and stepping to the side for the two Royal couples to enter.

They walked over to the elevator ,a man in the same type of black coat and trousers bowed greeting them. " Good morning Your Majesty, allow me" he pushed the elevator button for the door to Open, Alex assured him, they would be fine.

"William no need for you to accompany us."

" yes, Your Majesty as you wish."

Alex pushed the button to take them to the top floor ,the door opened up into a luxurious entry way with another door man standing in front of a pair of stately frosted glass doors with golden handles.

The door man tugged at the bottom of his coat straightening himself, then bowed deeply greeting Alex , "good morning Your Majesty. Queen Sophia told me you were stopping by for a visit, she also said to tell you ,to go on inside. I do believe she said something about baking a cake."

" Thank you Jason"

The door man held the door open and the two couples stepped inside the extravagant posh penthouse apartment. Just to find no one in the receiving room . They walked further into the penthouse, all the way into the dining room and called out to make their presence known. " mother, where are you?"

" Alexander, I'm in the kitchen, go ahead and make everyone a drink and take a seat at the table, I'll be done in a minute."

Karmen nugged Jackson, she pulled on his shoulder for him to lean towards her whispering " ask your mother if she needs help."

Jackson shouted out loudly " Hay Mother do you need any help, Karmen knows how to cook."

Mother Sophia rushed from the kitchen wearing a pink apron shaking a wooden spoon scolding her children" Jackson Wyatt don't be so loud, I have neighbors you know, and if what I seen on the news this morning is true everyone of you are in trouble for not telling me first."

" But mother Sophia we didn't do anything this time,"Lexi pleaded

" Alex chuckled, calmly asking "mother what did you hear."

"Something so exciting I almost peed my pants. So who wants to tell me the truth."

All four of them was stumped ,finally Jackson took out his phone scrolling through it. Pulling his head up, he pointed at Lexi giving her the good news.

" your pregnant " he chuckled reading the rest of the tabloid news article " Listen to this shit"

"Now we all know why King Alexander and Princess Alexis Whitley are having a rushed wedding. Our sources say king Alexander and Princess Alexis was spotted today coming out of renowned OBGYN Dr. Burnheart's office today after Princess Alexis's ultrasound on the Royal bundle of joy. Her best friend Karmen Boyett and her future brother-in-law Prince Jackson Eddington tagged along for moral support."

Alex chuckled, "mother it's just some more lies , but we did go to Dr. Burnheart's office today, and so did Karmen and Jackson. Lexi and Karmen established as a new patient. Dr Burnheart gave them a new vitamin he has developed it will help them conceive but Dr. Burnheart said it could still take two years for me and Lexi to have a baby."

" That's wonderful news, patting Alex on the shoulder she sighed " I'm glad to hear the four of you are trying. But I just got so excited. I was hoping for once the news reporters were right." Looking as if someone let all the air out of her balloon, she turned to walk back into the kitchen scolding her younger son and welcoming the rest of her children.

" Jackson Wyatt watched your mouth. Alexander make everyone a drink and come set at the table, I will only be a few more minutes."

Alex and Jackson walked over to the wet bar , Alex made himself a martini and got Lexi a cola , Jackson poured his mother a glass of wine and made himself an old fashioned ,he took them to the table and sauntered off into the kitchen to pour Karmen some milk.

Walking over to the island he nibbled on a couple of hors d'oeuvres searching the counter for nuts and dried fruit. Just to get scolded again by his mother.

" stop nibbling your going to spoil your lunch."

" mother I really don't think a couple of crackers and a few fish eggs are going to fill me up."

" Be a doll for mother and take that tray to the buffet table."

" mother is all this ready to be taken to the table."

" yes , dear "

"Mother go set down, you have enough food for a army here ."

"I'm just putting the glaze on my cake."

Grabbing the large silver tray with several different appetizers on it he heads back into the dining room and recruits a little help.

" Everyone come help bring all this food to the table , I believe mother has cooked enough for a football team."

After a few minutes they had took all the food into the dining room. Jackson finally convinced his mother to come out of the kitchen and join the family in the dining room. All the food was set out on the buffet table for everyone to serve their selves.

Mother Sophia had truly out done herself, she had made several appetizers a colorful salad, yummy mushroom barley soup , and delicious prime rib dinner with herded mashed potatoes, spice roasted carrots, mushroom garlic green beans ,creamed spinach. She also made some dreamy desserts, little ramekins full of cream brûlée, a fruit filled cream tart and Alex's favorite butter bourbon cake. Everyone filled their plates and set down at the table.

Alex complemented his mother, for her hard work." Mother this is quite the lunch, you must have cooked all morning."

" I do hope you like it , I called your Aunt Charlotte to get some recipes for human dishes. She gave me several of your Uncle John's favorites."

Jackson chuckled and cracked a joke.

"I didn't think uncle John ever ate anything except for rum and cola."

" Mother Lexi and karmen will be staying with you this afternoon for a few hours."

"You mean alone with out you or Jackson?" Mother Sophia ask a little stunned

"Yes, mother Jackson and I are going down into the rough part of the city today. They will be safer with you,I have already put some of Rich's men out on the streets to patrol the neighborhood."

Mother Sophia peered around the table at her daughter-in-laws, just to notice her younger son feeding his wife. Asking

" Karmen darling have you hurt your hand?"

" No Mother, I have begged him to stop feeding me like a baby, but he refuses to listen to me."

" Mother, Dr. Burnheart said she needs to gain weight before you will get a grandchild, He put her on the same vitamin he put Lexi on but he said it would be a miracle if Karmen got pregnant because she's so damm skinny."

" Jackson Wyatt watch your mouth, mother Sophia snapped out, pausing a moment to collect herself. Offering some motherly advice

" Have you tried ginger, a nice glass of ginger ale before you eat it will stimulate the appetite or perhaps some ginger tea."

" If it will stop him from feeding me, I'll drink anything "

Shoving another bite in to her mouth, Jackson grumbled " shut up and eat." Turning his attention to over to his brother.

"Alex we need to go by my house, I need to change shirts and we can take my other car down town, your just going to attract a bunch of attention in a limousine."

"Like your car won't attract attention?" Alex ask sounding amused.
