I just can’t believe it

Alex snaked his arm around Lexi's waist quickly guiding her on down the hallway towards their bedroom before the two girls could start bickering. They stepped inside their bedroom and closed the door behind them.

Lexi excitedly walked over to the closet and pulled out a beautiful short black sleeveless dress embellished with rhinestones. Bringing it back into the bedroom. However before she walked into the bathroom to shower Alex stopped her.

"Sweetheart you will need to take that dress with you to change at Jackson's house and you need to wear a more casual dress for dinner at Gabby's it's an old tavern with a more casual atmosphere."He explained

Turning back around to face him she dropped the beautiful black dress on the bed with her brows tugged tightly together and her shoulders slouched down."Uh...Like what? Come help me find something" she groaned

Stepping closer to her he grinned"Come sweetheart I will help you" They stepped back into her closet together as Alex ran his hands across all the elegant designer dresses hanging inside the closet searching for a causal dress to suit the relaxed atmosphere of the historic old tavern. Lexi set in the floor looking at her shoe rack pulling out a pair of black stilettos with crisscross rhinestone straps to match the stunning black mimi dress she had picked earlier.

After a few minutes Alex pulled out a lovely light blue summer mini dress with three quarter length bell sleeves with a tasteful dogwood blossom print on it.

"Here sweetheart wear this one" he said as he handed the blue dress towards her.

Looking up from where she set in front of the shoe rack, and smiled " Now find my jewelry please and just lay that dress on the bed."

"Sweetheart do you need me to call Julie to help you."

"No ,but I'm in the floor and you're already standing in front of the jewelry box. Now just open the top door and take out that pearl necklace with the gold heart charm on it ." She instructed pointing towards the top of the jewelry box.

Alex opened the little door at the top of the jewelry box bending his head slightly to the side so that he could see all the necklaces clearly. Reaching his hand in he pulled out the pearl necklace with the little golden hart charm on it . He held it up in front of him and ask her " this one"

" Yes now look in the drawer underneath it and get the bracelet that matches it out." She explained turning her attention back to the shoe rack to pick a pair of tan wedge heels with ankle straps.

She stood up with the two pair of heels she had picked in her hand and peaked over Alex's shoulder to make sure he picked the right bracelet .

" Hand me that dress and open the safe underneath the jewelry box and get the diamond earrings and choker necklace you gave me the night I met your mother."She instructed as she reached over his arm to pick a few gold bangle bracelets out of the jewelry box to wear with the casual blue dress. With the shoes and dresses in one hand and the gold bracelets in the other she

walked out of the closet.

Alex turned and shouted over his shoulder

"Sweetheart wait for me and we can shower together."

A few minutes later Alex walked back into the bedroom and laid all the jewelry on the bed. He then walked to his closet and picked a vintage black suit and a white shirt with french cuffs to wear later that night. He also looked in the jewelry box in his closet picking out a pair of diamond cuff links and a diamond vintage Rolex watch. He grabbed a pair of dark blue slacks and a light blue button up shirt and headed into the bathroom to join Lexi in the shower.

In the younger couples bedroom Jackson and Karmen had just got out of the shower.

Karmen wrapped a towel around her wet hair and pulled the big white bath robe over her body tying it at the waist. She stepped on over to the vanity where Jackson was already standing drying his short black hair with a towel. Reaching down she pulled the top drawer open to pull her makeup out.

However when she pulled the drawer open a note laid on top of her makeup. Picking up the little note she realized who it was from. She turned to her left and stared right into the culprits eyes.

"What? Go do it now."

With out saying a word she rolled her eyes reaching back inside the drawer and retrieved the little box that was laying underneath the note. She headed straight behind the petitioned wall to take another pregnancy test. After she preformed the test according to the directions on the box

she took the little white stick over to the vanity and laid it on the white marble counter top in front of him.

Leaning forward he kissed the top of her head "I know you think it's silly to take another test this soon but I thought it might be a good idea since we're going to a bar tonight and not just for that reason it's a celebration and I'm sure there's going to be champagne " He reasoned as he picked his phone up and set the timer so that they wouldn't get to involved in their normal conversations and forget about the test again.

" Uh, I know" she said disappointedly

Turning around so that he faced her he leaned against the countertop crossing his legs at his ankles as he spoke to her in a low soft voice ."Don't be mad I just thought if we got a clear result this time you could have a drink or two at the club with the rest of us tonight. You know it makes me feel somewhat like a control freak always telling you what to eat and drink. And I really don't want to be like that. It's just that you aren't very good when it comes to taking care of yourself."

"I know" she mumbled while putting her makeup on, not paying much attention to what he was saying until the timer on his phone went off and they both looked down at the little white stick laying on the countertop at the same time.

Reaching behind him he picked it up bringing it close to his chest. His eyes traveled down to the little white stick then back up to her's . With a big grin on his face two unbelievable words came out of his mouth."Your pregnant"

"No way!" She almost shouted reaching for the little white stick that he had picked up off the countertop to get a closer look at.

" Yes you are, look" he said pointing to a tiny word inside a small circle on the little white stick. " This is a different type of test it's better then the ones we have been using. I stopped at the drugstore on the way back from the golf course today and picked it up."

" okay, ok just let me hold it." she squealed with her hand stretched out towards him and her heart pounding wildly in her chest.

" Okay, but calm down you're going to have a heart attack." He grinned handing the little white stick over to her.

With a trembling hand she took the little with stick from his hand glaring down at the small word written in the middle of the circle. After a few seconds she closed her eyes and a lone tear fell on her cheek. She held the little white stick close to her chest as she began to slide down towards the floor.

With vampire speed Jackson caught her and pulled her into his arms setting her on the countertop. Placing both his hands on the side of her cheeks he titled her head up to look at him. " Babe are you okay" he asked worriedly.

" I just can't believe it." She breathed

" Call Doctor Burnheart's office tomorrow and make an appointment just as soon as you can." He grinned leaning forward he put a little kiss on her lips. Pulling back he ask

" What time does he close his office. You might be able to do it now."

"Uh...six I think." She stuttered, turning her head towards his phone that laid on the marble countertop beside them." Hand me your phone"

"Let me do it, I don't think you can right now." He chuckled, reaching his hand over to grab his phone still not moving from in front of her in fear that she would fall from the countertop onto the hard marble floor.
