Nothing will change

After making the three mile trip into the city the carriage finally came to a stop in front of the public records office. Lexi peered out the window at the huge crowd of people standing on the street waiting for her and Alex to exit the carriage. Both her and Alex excited and pleased with how the people accepted their relationship.

Some people held flags in their hands cheering and waving as the carriage passed by . And most of them had their cameras ready to snap pictures or take videos of the Royal couple. She turned towards Alex and gave him a beautiful smile.

"Our people seem really happy for us. I hope there's no trouble today." She stated

" Security is tight today sweetheart, I don't believe we will have anything to worry about."Alex reassured her as her giving her hand a gentle squeeze

After the carriage stopped the coachman came around to open the door for them to step out . Lexi untied the lace around her neck letting the white silk cape that covered her dress fall on the seat behind her .After receiving the all clear messages from the the security check points that Rich put in place. Alex exited the carriage first visually scanning the surrounding area before holding his hand out for Lexi to take. She put on her most dazzling smile and stepped down from the carriage.

Cameras immediately started flashing from every angle and the crowd hummed with excited mummers . After exiting the carriage Lexi looped her arm through Alex's as they walked down the red carpet together towards the podium in front of the public records office .At the end of the red carpet the Kingdom chancery stood behind the podium waiting for them to sign their marriage license . Upon arriving at the podium they stepped beside the chancery and Alex reached inside his jacket pocket and handing the chancery his and Lexi's driver's license and their birth certificate as prof of age and identification.

The chancery glanced down at the four documents in his hand briefly handing them back to Alex before stepping away from the podium with a deep bow. Bringing his head back up he spoke to Lexi and Alex in an official tone " Your Majesty if you and Princess Alexis will please step forward and sign your name underneath your typed name before these witnesses." He gestured with his hand behind them towards Jackson and Karmen before speaking again " and the Country of Elgin." He nodded at the crowd who stood silently watching as the chancery finished speaking. " After signing You may proceed with your marriage and mail the license back to the public records office after Father Daniel signs on the space provided for him after the ceremony." He concluded his small explanation handing Alex a quill pen and stepping further away from the podium.

Alex took the pen and dipped it into the ink well signing his name elegantly on the space provided just as he had done with thousands of legal documents through out his reign as King. Then he handed Lexi the pen to do the same as thousands of cameras flashed from the crowd and immediately after Lexi laid the quill pen down. Cheers and whistles erupted from the crowd shaking the windows in all the buildings along Main Street.

After giving everyone a few minutes to express themselves Alex held his hand up for everyone to settle down before speaking into the microphone at the top of the podium.

" Princess Alexis and I would like to thank each and every one of you for coming out today not just to watch as we join together as husband and wife but as we unite our country together as a whole. As everyone knows already I have worked with King Charles for over a decade on different projects to make sure that both our kingdoms have updated schools and hospitals with other resources available to each and every person in our country. Let me assure you nothing is going to change in the North or the South part of our country with mine and Princess Alexis marriage. King Charles and I will still be working together as usual making changes wherever we see a problem. The same way we have been doing for the last ten years." Alex announced ending his speech with "And again I would like to thank everyone for coming out today."

The crowd erupted into cheers, claps and whistles again rattling the windows up and down Main Street as Lexi and Alex walked back down the red carpet to bored the carriage. Both Alex and Lexi waved at the crowd as the carriage passed through town as they held hands inside the carriage.

When the wedding caravan arrived at the mansion the only car that pulled into the gate was the first limousines and the carriage. Lexi and Alex quickly got into the limousines and the carriage was loaded back into the trailer to head straight to the castle.

At the Castle everyone in the wedding party set in a luxurious setting room waiting as the guest stared arriving. Harper was behind the large wooden wall playing an elegant piece of music on the historic old pipe organ as King Evander leaned against the wall not very far away from her with his hands in his pockets watching as her fingers glided across the keyboard effortlessly. And even though Ethan was in the wedding party he was no where to be found among the rest of the family. He made his way through the crowd to find Rylee hoping to sneak in a little action before the wedding starts.

As he combed through the crowd at the entrance he spotted her standing next to her mother beside a white column in the center of the room. He quickly made his way over to where she stood."Rylee," He called "aren't you going to introduce me to your mother."

Rylee snapped her head around at the sound of Ethan's voice placing her hand on her chest as if she was startled. She glanced over seeing he was standing extremely close to her. She took a step back from him as she introduced him to her mother. " Mom, this is Jackson's new brother in law Ethan." Ethan's enchanting smile falter for a few seconds at the wishy-washy introduction. Slightly upset that she didn't even address him as a friend.

However he gathered his composure as Rylee finished introducing him to her mother " Ethan this is my mom Roxy Chapmen." Roxy held her hand out for Ethan to shake. Ethan gently took her hand in his bringing it up to his lips to place a respectable kiss on the back of her palm. Bringing his head back up he spoke in a polite elegantly tone " Nice to meet you Miss. Chapmen." He turned to Rylee, and questioned " Rylee dear, have you ask your mother if it's okay for you to accompany me to Jackson's wedding?"

Rylee's eyes widened as she stammered " Uh...uh not exactly"

A little miffed with Rylee's half-ass introduction and the fact that she didn't even bother telling her mother that he invited her to Jackson and Karmen's wedding Ethan had no problem with letting Roxy know about their plans for the weekend. " I hope it won't be a problem Miss Chapmen. You see I'm not from around here. My sister and I grew up with Princess Alexis and I don't really know very many people from here. But Rylee was kind enough to be my date for the wedding."

Roxy glanced over at Rylee she smiled "How kind of you Rylee." Roxy said in a mock tone. Knowing Rylee was trying to hide something from her. She decided to get to the bottom of what ever Rylee was hiding. She turned to the one spilling his guts openly. " Ethan I'm delighted that you ask my Rylee to accompany you to Jackson's wedding. Will the two of you be traveling with the rest of your family?"

"Well yes we will Miss Chapmem, We will be heading out with the rest of the family shortly after the wedding reception. I do hope Rylee isn't prone to sea sickness. Jackson has a few activities planned for everyone before we land on the island. It should be quite a fun trip." Ethan explained

"Sea sickness?" Roxy questioned

"Yes ma'am didn't Rylee tell you? We will all be traveling to the island on Jackson's yacht. We plan to stop along the way a couple of times to fish and go scuba diving but please don't worry. I won't let Rylee out of my sight and she will be perfectly safe." Ethan informed Roxy as he stepped closer to Rylee putting his arm around her waist letting Roxy know Rylee will be his date not just someone to accompany him to the wedding.

"I'm very pleased to know that my Rylee will be in the company of such a responsible young man such as yourself." Roxy praised "As you can tell Rylee never shares her plans with me."

" Not only me Miss Chapmen,Rylee Will be looked after by my whole family."

"Ethan you seem quite close to your family I hope some of your family values rub off on Rylee." She sighed as she shook her head as she proved for more information " As you see Rylee never shares anything with me for example last night she never came home and I had no idea where she was at or if she was safe."

" Shame on you Rylee, making your mother worry like that." Ethan scolded her adding "My apologies Miss Chapmen if I had known last night I would have made Rylee call you so that you would know she was safe."

" I see, so Rylee was with you last night?" Roxy questioned

" Yes ma'am she was, but not only with me we went dancing with Lexi, Alex, Jackson and my sister. You see Lexi and my sister love to dance they can dance all night. And after we left the club it was late so we crashed at Jackson's."

Rylee's was impressed by how effortlessly Ethan could spine a web of half truths making a lustful night of wild sex sound like a church picnic. She leaned closer to Ethan and smiled brightly, hoping her mother would think she was behaving like a proper young lady.

Ethan leaned over and placed a quick kiss on her cheek. Before he excused himself to head back to the room where the wedding party was waiting.
