Start of the Sports Festival.

{POV Ryuu.}

The next morning was rather normal. There was no major news story as it seemed as if the incident from the two days prior never existed. But I did seem to notice that some of the other school kids were looking in my direction more than normal.

I just ignored them as I walked Mei to the Support Department and gave her a tame kiss before heading to my class. But when I entered it seemed as if Ida was in an enthusiastic mood as he stood in front of the class. I just said hello as he nodded his head before I found my seat.

But as I sat down I felt multiple sets of eyes train themselves on me.

Bakugou, Tsuyu, Eijiro, Mezo, and even Fumikage all looked at me as if they saw a hero walk into the room. I just smiled and nodded in each of their directions, as they did the same.

"All right, listen! It's time for this morning's home room! Take your seats!" Ida screamed out loud which made most of the class look at him with wonder. Hanta even commented that we were in our seat while Ida wasn't, making some of the class laugh.

Then the door opened and walked in a mummified Aizawa, making everyone surprised. While shouting out loud that he's a 'pro'.

I was rather impressed more than surprised as it showed Aizawas will, determination, and focus.

But the moment he started walking to the podium his body continually shook, showing that he was still recovering. Which made my respect for Aizawa increase as a smile formed on my face.

"Don't worry yourselves over me, after all. The battle hasn't really ended for you yet." Aizawa said as the class all had a different reaction. "The U.A. Sports festival is approaching boys and girls!"

The whole class bursted with enthusiasm when they heard what Aizawa said.

I on the other hand was rather confused, as I had no idea what in Ancient he was talking about. I mean I heard of the festival, but I never paid any real attention to it as I had other important things to worry about.

"A sports festival!"

"I keep forgetting this is an actual school!!"

"Wait, hold up! This sounds like something villains would try and infiltrate, right? Will everyone be ok?"

Many voiced their concerns as they were valid, and I agreed with them. Since the villain alliance were able to infiltrate once they should be able to do it again. But it seemed as if Aizawa was prepared for the questions and concerns.

"Quite the contrary, since we're going ahead with the festival it means that the school is confident and has all its ducks in a row when it comes to crisis control. Plus the police presence will be five times bigger than normal." Aizawa said in a firm but muffled voice.

I was rather impressed by how much of an effort that the school was taking in order to keep something like this festival going. But I frowned a little when Aizawa mentioned how much police presence was going to be used.

"But what you should be thinking about is, what a huge chance that this festival presents for all of you. This isn't some event that'll be stopped by the likes of villains. Our sports festival is one of Japan's biggest events, it even replaced the olympics." Aizawa finished with a tired voice.

"The country's top heroes are all going to be watching us! So they'll be scouting us!" Momo said with a smile on her face which started a small discussion between others.

I even heard Denki say that he wanted to go the sidekick route but was quickly shot down by Kyoka saying that it was the kind of dumbass Denki was.

I laughed slightly as it sounded funny, and the look on Denki's face looked like he was suffering from emotional damage.

"Naturally, entering the squad of a famous hero will get you higher status and more experience. But remember, time is limited. If you get noticed by a pro, then that gives you the standing for a brighter future than otherwise." Aizawa said with a firm and confident tone. "This is the chance you'll only get once a year, so if your aim is to be a hero, then this is an event you can't overlook!"

The whole class went silent as everyone had different looks on their faces. Some had looks of determination, drive, confidence, and much more.

I just smiled as I never planned on becoming a hero as I thought it was a child's fantasy. This world doesn't need another hero, it needs a leader to bring balance to this world.

When lunch finally arrived everyone started to gather in groups while sharing their excitement for the upcoming festival. I didn't join them as I had more important things to consider. But as I started to pull out my lunch I noticed that Bakugou, Tsuyu, Eijiro, Mezo, and Fumikage started to form a group around me.

"Hey guys, what's up." I said with a smile on my face as everyone did the same.

"You were right that day Ryuu," Bakugou said as he sat down while looking me in the eyes. "So what do you have planned for the upcoming festival?" Bakugou said with a hint of a challenge in his eyes.

"Just training like normal really, but with more intensity. I noticed how weak I was when I hardly did anything to that nomu." I said with a slight smile on my lips.

"I agree. I felt the same when that villain trapped all of us," Mezo said in a low tone

"Wait you fought that thing!? That's incredibly manly, weren't you afraid though." Eijiro asked with a hint of interest in his voice.

I didn't answer as Tsuyu spoke up with a hint of concern in her voice. "Yes he did, but it didn't seem like he was afraid though. Rather you seemed excited, ribbit."

I only nodded my head as Tsuyu was right. But when everyone else saw that I nodded my head, looks of amazement started to spread. I just silently shook my head as even though I was excited, it was mostly the effect of my ability.

"Honestly yes I was excited, but I was also still scared. My ability has a very violent effect if I don't control it. Sure I may be strong because of it but it's still a double edged sword." I spoke truthfully as everyone else became quiet, until Fumikage spoke up.

"I can understand that type of effect, my dark shadow is the same as if I'm not able to control it, it gets violent also." Fumikage said with understanding in his voice as I smiled and nodded my head.

We all continued to talk while having our lunch. It was a very enjoyable experience, it seemed as if I was making friends a lot easier in this world than I did in my previous plane. I even invited all of them to train at my house until the sports festival happened so we could help polish each other's abilities.

But as the day officially ended, I noticed a mass group of people seemed to be standing outside of the class. I even said something out loud which made Bakugou smile slightly.

"They're scoping out the competition it seems. That and they wanna see the gang who came through the villain ambush." Bakugou spoke as if a challenge had been ignited under him as he started to head out the door.

"It's pointless to try anyway, so why don't you all just fuck off, ya goddamn mob." Bakugou said in an arrogant tone as he challenged the mob.

I started to laugh slightly but stopped as a voice spoke up from within the mob that had a hint of disdain.

He had messy indigo hair that flared out in large tufts around his head. Purple eyes with white pupils that were thin and somewhat triangular in shape and pointing downward. His eyes were half closed and had very dark eye bags underneath them.

"I came to see what you kids are made of, true, but I didn't think you'd be this arrogant. I wonder if all the kids enrolled in the department of heroics are this way? I'm a bit disillusioned so that's it, huh. Plus there's lots of us who wind up in the general education department or other departments because they failed the heroic one…"

I was impressed with his attitude as it seemed as if he had a slight hatred for us that were in the hero department. But I also felt that he also had a deep passion for those who were heroes. I mean he even said that this whole scouting mission was a declaration of war which made me smile further.

Then another voice roared over the mob bringing the attention of everyone. He had long messy gray hair that seemed as if it never changed shape, black eyes which were tilted dramatically inwards. With a thick jagged tan-colored substance which I believe to be his eyelashes? And very sharp teeth.

"Hey, you!! I'm from class 1-B! I heard you knocked around some villains or whatever so I came to hear it directly! But I don't wanna hear from some snot nosed punk brat!! Don't embarrass us during the main event, ya hear me!"

I just started to laugh as I found the whole situation to be entertaining. Bakugou started to do the same which made some of the others in the class shocked.

I presumed they thought Bakugou was going to kill someone as I saw the looks of horror on some of them. I even clapped Bakugou on his shoulder and started to head out of the class.

But we both stopped as Eijiro spoke up about how Bakugou handled the whole situation.

"Wait a second, man what did you just do? Now we're gonna get haters all up in our grill!"

"It doesn't matter, none of that matters once you're at the top." Bakugou said with confidence and pride. Stunning the others, which made me smile.

"Come on guys, we have a short period of time to enhance our abilities before the festival starts. And if there is anything I learned, it is that time waits for no man." I said with a smile as I left the class as Bakugou and the rest of the group followed behind.
