Chance Encounter

Dana's words were like a bolt of lightning that struck the man on the head, making his face pale.

Looking at the man who instantly lost his spirit, Susan started to feel sorry for him. She explained to Diana, "I'm sorry, my friend is a little straightforward. I hope you don't take her words to heart."

The man shook his head and suppressed the pain in his voice. His voice was slightly trembling as he said, "You don't have to be sorry. This is a matter of mutual consent. She has the right to reject me."

What the man said made Diana feel a little bad for what she had done.

She rubbed her nose and looked at Susan. Then, she quietly went to the counter and helped the man pay his bill.

After walking out of the coffee shop, Diana heaved a sigh of relief. She looked like she had just survived a disaster.
