Taking A Stance

Keller shook his head. The expression on his face was like a mask that prevented Susan from reading his true emotions.

"Do you think Aren is a good-for-nothing who can be threatened at will? If any woman can grasp his secret and threaten him into marriage, Aren won't be where he is today. South Side won't allow such a leader."

What Keller said made Susan's face change. She realized what a stupid thing she had just said. She looked embarrassed and even ashamed.

Keller, who used to be a gentleman and was polite, didn't give off the warmth that belonged to him at this moment. Instead, he was like a wind blade in the winter, and his gaze was so sharp that Susan didn't dare to look at him.

"And Aren has asked me to organize a party for him. He will introduce his fiancée to all his friends at the party. Nothing you worry about will happen."

Aren wanted to introduce Jocelyn to his friends, which meant that her guess was wrong.
