It had been 2 weeks after they married, it was a time filled with contentment. They started a family. Both were willing, loving and accepted the unexpected.

But, no one knew a storm was coming.

'It' was planning something.

A few days later,

Yu Xin was talking with his two new friends – Xiao Qi and Xiao Ting when he heard a scream. He and his friends ran toward the sound and saw a sub-beast lying on the ground. The sub-beast was covered in blood and his leg had a huge injury and his face was covered in dust, his eyes were teary.

Yu Xin and his friends gasped in shock. They ran toward the injured sub-beast and tried to help him.

"Help me.", the sub-beast pleaded.

Yu Xin rushed forward and tried to stop the bleeding. But, the blood kept flowing. Yu Xin's hands quivered as he and his friends tried their best. Yu Xin asked Xiao Qi, "Xiao Qi, please bring someone to help."

Xiao Qi nodded and hurried to get help.

"What's happened to you?", Yu Xin asked after sending Xiao Qi for help.

The injured sub-beast sobbed and said, "A beast attacked me. Please call my brother for me."

Yu Xin comforted the injured sub-beast and reassured him, "Who is your brother? Please tell us his name, we'll bring him here."

"My brother is the current king here, his name is Feng Li."

Yu Xin was startled. He knew Feng Li had a brother, but he had married to wolf beast and Feng Li's brother lived in the wolf clan. Yu Xin was stunned and Xiao Ting was shocked. They had seen Feng Li's brother, it was said that he was a great beauty, but looking at the pitiful look of the sub-beast, no words came out of their mouth.

Yu Xin's mind came to senses and he said, "Don't worry, we will get help and your brother will come soon. Just hold on."

The injured sub-beast didn't answer. His eyes rolled and his breathing became shallow.

"No, no, no. Don't die. Please don't die. We will save you. Help will come soon." Yu Xin said in a hectic as he and his friends tried their best to treat the wound and stop the bleeding.

Suddenly, a group of beasts came together with Xiao Qi. The group of beasts were carrying medicine boxes. A handsome beast followed behind them. The handsome man kneeled beside Yu Xin pushed the sub-beast from his side and took over from him.

"Sir, the bleeding won't stop. He has a bad leg.", said a beast.

Yu Xin gasped.

The man didn't answer but his eyebrows knitted, and his mouth became thin. He ordered the others, "The beast had a heavy wound, how could it be an accident? Treat him, and let's wait for Majesty to arrive here."

All the people gave their affirmative answer. Yu Xin got up and waited. But Xiao Ting held his arm, he looked scared and said in a small voice, "Yu Xin, is Feng Ming going to live or will he...".

Yu Xin and his friends felt their knees go weak and couldn't muster any words.

While they stood, a few beasts got up and one of them reported, "Sir, His Majesty has arrived."

Both of them raised their head and saw Feng Li walk in, his eyebrows furrowed and his voice harsh, "How's Feng Ming? Tell me! Where's the healer?"

Feng Li saw Yu Xin and went to his side. Xiao Qi and Xiao Ting stepped back. They had never seen Feng Li from close up. He was handsome and his imposing aura made their legs weak and trembling.

"Feng...Feng Li", Yu Xin hesitated before saying Feng Li's name. He took Feng Li's hand and the cold voice had vanished. He could only see gentleness and love in his eyes when Feng Li gazed upon him.

Feng Li seemed to regain his senses. The ice around him had disappeared. And he spoke in a low and loving voice, "Where's Feng Ming? Is he all right?".

Yu Xin hesitated again and spoke up, "Feng Li, the bleeding couldn't be stopped, even the herbs used to stop it don't work on him. I'm afraid he'll..."

"I'll bring him with the doctors and I will find the killer. Go back first and take a rest. You will have the treatment by tomorrow morning. Rest well, all of you. Go."

After saying this, he spoke to Yu Xin once again, "Yu Xin, do not go back to our cave, stay with your friends for the night."

Yu Xin wanted to question why he needed to stay over but decided not to. When Feng Li saw Yu Xin's curious expression, he pulled Yu Xin to him, embraced him, and kissed his forehead before kissing his plump lips. Yu Xin flushed and turned bright red.

"I will see you tomorrow."

Yu Xin slightly touched the spot on his forehead before replying, "Yes, have a good rest."

Yu Xin smiled back, nodded his head, and turned around. Feng Li stared at Yu Xin's disappearing silhouette.

A sub-beast called out to him, "Majesty, Feng Ming wants to see you."

Feng Li went to the spot where the healer was trying to stop Feng Ming's wound. It was so severe that the white bones could be seen and his pulse was very weak. The veins on Feng Li's forehead protruded as his expression turned dangerous.

"How are you?", he questioned Feng Ming and asked how was he hurt.

"Brother, help me."

Feng Ming looked pitiful and his hair was scattered and wet because of the loss of blood. His green eyes were glittering like emeralds, his facial features had the family resemblance.

"Someone fatally wounded your brother. What shall we do, Your Majesty?", the healer asked. Feng Li sighed. Feng Ming looked like he was pleading.

"Is the bleeding still not stopped?", he questioned.

"It'll stop, just hold on, don't be scared."

After the healer assured him, his eyes moved from the healer's face towards his brother.

"Feng Ming, can you tell me the details."

"What happened to you? Why did you come here alone? Where is brother-in-law?", Feng Li asked worriedly.

Feng Ming hesitated and whispered, "I...I...he...he died."

Tears poured out from Feng Ming's eyes. Whenever he closed his eyes, he saw his mate dying to save him. Feng Ming couldn't bear to look at him. His heart ached.

Feng Li's lips trembled a little, and he questioned, "Tell me what happened to you both."

"We were on the way to the Snake clan. I wanted to surprise you. I, also, wanted to see my sister-in-law. So, I told my husband, about the surprise visit. We made sure we did not face any problems during the travel. But when we were only a mile away from the Snake clan, two unknown people attacked us. Both, me and my husband were shocked. It was the first time that something like this happened to us. Because we always came from the same route to the Snake clan. I wanted to scream to get help but, my throat was silenced. I don't know how this happened but both me and my husband were unable to scream."

"They attacked us, but my husband tried to save me and to save me, he attacked both people but he was unable to stop them. They...They..."
