Lila Torvus

Patrolling the grounds of the Torvus family home was a plethora of highly trained Torvus family guard warriors.

They were cultivators that came from the branch families or were employed for their strength to guard the Torvus family.

They were all-powerful warriors in their own right, if it was anywhere else in the land they'd be strong enough to lead their own forces and become warriors famous throughout the land but when compared to the natural power of the Torvus main family they were nothing but ants in comparison.

Many of them decided to serve the Torvus family after experiencing a member's strength but there were others who decided to join given the opportunities and cultivation resources provided which were beyond generous.

The Torvus family stood firmly for thousands of years and they knew the importance of keeping not only their subjects happy but also their warriors.

They wore black robes with silver accents along with the cuffs and always had a weapon at hand. Most warriors of the family were trained in Sword techniques but there were a few that had different specialties.

One of the responsibilities of the guards was knowing all the aura signatures of the Cultivators allowed within the family compound.

Every Cultivator has a unique aura that is unique and one of a kind, it is essentially a Cultivators fingerprint.

One guard was leisurely completing his patrol when out of nowhere he felt someone's energy, energy he has never felt before.

Believing it to be an intruder he swiftly ran in the direction of the possible intruder.

Having reached the destination he saw a shocking sight.

He saw somebody sitting by a lone tree right by the edge of a cliff. Realizing the clothes belonged to the 3rd young master of the Torvus family the guard had to shake his head a couple of times in disbelief.

The boy everyone believed to be a vegetable for the rest of his life was currently cultivating right in front of his eyes.

"B-but he was never meant to be able to live a normal mortal life let alone become a cultivator…"

If he didn't see it with his own eyes he would have scoffed at whoever told him of this event in disbelief.

After a moment the guard shook himself out of shock and decided to grab his masters as he was certain if he didn't tell them as soon as possible of this miraculous event.

=========

Messor was too shocked to react, although even if that wasn't the case he was certain he still wouldn't have been able to react to the monstrous speed of the mystery woman.

'Who is this?' Messor's question was rhetorical but it didn't stop the system from answering

[How would I know? I know the same information about others you do…]

Messor felt irritated by the system but decided to not say anything and instead focus on the situation in front of him.

"Oh, my dear baby!"

"I am so happy!"

The woman was beyond ecstatic and Messor could tell but this didn't lower his guard or weariness at the slightest, however, after seeing the woman close the distance between them in an instant he knew that he couldn't hold a candle to her and if she wanted to kill him he wouldn't even know it.

'I still have a long way to go…'

[What? Of course, you have a long way to go, what sort of stupid things are you thinking?]

'...' Messor decided not to comment.

"Let me look at you" The Woman extended her arms moving Messor away from her embrace so she could look at his face.

A smile beamed on her face as she noticed Messor didn't have a blank face as he always had but instead he had the look of visible confusion.

The woman squealed from excitement and happiness like a teenage girl and grabbed Messor tightly once again.

"Aww, my little baby looks to be confused, I'm so happy"

"I have no clue how you can Cultivate or what happened but this doesn't matter right now" She began talking rapidly as she shook Messor left and right in her tight hug.

"My name is Lila Torvus, you are Messor Torvus, my 3rd child, I'm your mom" She smiled and looked at Messor as she spoke these words in a kind and gentle tone

"My mom?" Messor asked sheepishly but to his shock instead of a response, the mouths of everyone present dropped open.

"W-what did you just say?" Iris asked as she was certain she misheard.

She turned around to ask the maids she had with her if she heard correctly

"D-did he just speak?" Lila questioned the maids who were nodding their heads in confirmation but the shock was still clearly visible on their normally expressionless faces.

"Messor, can you please do that again? Please call out to your mother" Lila pleaded with puppy eyes

'What should I say?' Messor decided to ask the system as he has never interacted with his mother or anyone else for that matter so he isn't sure how he should act.

[Just say whatever, I'm certain she will be happy]

"M-mom…" Messor wanted to say more but before he had a chance to his mom grabbed him tightly once again.

'So this is how I die' Messor thought to himself.

They stayed this way for quite some time before Lila decided to have some maids take Messor to clean up and rest in his room as it was getting quite late.

Lila wanted to stay with Messor longer and even wanted to throw the celebratory party at once but she was quickly convinced by her personal maid that for a grand event such as this ample time to prepare was needed.

Lila wanted to protest that they could just throw money at the problem but luckily for the family's budget, the maid reminded Lila that Messor must be tired after the events of the day and needed time to rest either way.

========

Messor was taken to his quarters which surprisingly were spotless, a pair of maids prepared a bath for him and were insisting on helping him wash up but he declined.

After the bath, he dried himself and went to sit down on his bed.

'Status' he thought to himself before a screen appeared before his face.

[Status Screen]

[Name: Messor Torvus]

[Age: 15]

[Cultivation: 1st Stage QI Gathering]

[Techniques: Divine Reaper Cultivation Technique]

[Body Physique: N/A]

[System Level: 1]

[Talent Points: 5]

Messor glanced at his status screen noticing 2 major changes.

His Cultivation was no longer that of a Mortal but that of 1st Stage of QI Gathering. While it was the bottom of the barrel he was still overjoyed for a reason unknown to him.

Looking further down he saw a new tab titled [Talent Points] with a [5] next to it.

'System, what is this "Talent Points" part about?'

[Ah, I was wondering when you'd ask me]

'Does that mean you wouldn't have told me if I didn't check and ask?'

[...]

'...'

[Aaanyway, you gain Talent Points from Cultivators you manage to kill, the more talented the more you gain]

'Well, I probably could have figured that out on my own… What do I use them for?'

[You're really not polite are you? You use it in the store]

'Store? What Store?'

[It works like you status screen, you just need to think shop or store and it will pop up]

Messor proceeded to do as the system said before a new screen showed up before his eyes.

He was in awe, plenty of different screens could be seen filled with Divine weapons, techniques, and plenty of other breathtaking treasures.

However, the excitement was short-lived when Messor noticed the cost of everything.

'Why is everything so expensive?'

[Expensive? I guess it might seem that way, you were looking at treasures that are mythical in this world but trust me when I say the price is fair]

'But how am I supposed to purchase anything?' the items in the store were so expensive that the 5 points Messor had might as well be a drop of water in the ocean of points needed to purchase the cheapest item Messor had seen.

[Look at the Mortal grade weapons and techniques if this is too expensive for you, even they will be a cut above the rest]

Messor proceeded to look through the shop and looked into combat techniques, while he could easily get techniques from his family he was still unaware of this fact, and with the system being a firm believer in the superiority of its techniques decided not to tell Messor of anything.

After quite some time Messor settled on a Mortal Grade Technique called Void Veil spending his entire 5 points fortune.

It was only a Mortal grade technique and despite Messor's lack of experience and knowledge when it came to Cultivation he could tell it was a profound technique and he doubts its power could be rivaled by any technique in the same grade.

It allowed the user to cover their fingertips with void QI making anything touched by it disappear as if it never existed.

Unknown to Messor this was an ancient technique lost to the sands of time.

It was primarily an assassination technique due to the large, almost monstrous amount of QI needed to keep it up and operational. Just due to this fact it was a technique not suited for combat and eventually it disappeared from history.

While currently, Messor had no chance of keeping the ability up indefinitely he was certain one day it would be very useful.

[You look quite happy] The system commented

'I am, I'm excited to learn this technique'

[Hahaha] The system laughed

[Yes that's the attitude you should have, just make sure to learn the Cultivation Technique I've given you otherwise you're just wasting our time]

Messsor froze in place having forgotten all about the technique he got as a quest reward, he promptly summoned a book from within his mind and started studying and trying to comprehend this Divine Cultivation Technique throughout the night.
