Odin

One week later

Messor has spent the past week adjusting to his life.

Most of the time he spent in his room alone learning and mastering his Divine Reaper Cultivation Technique and the Void Veil combat technique.

Finally, Messor has understood and truly comprehended the two techniques.

Unfortunately despite learning two techniques one of which should be able to help save his life, Messor was quite unhappy.

'It's been a week and I haven't progressed anywhere in my cultivation'

[Are you sure you actually understood your cultivation technique?]

Messor thought for a second before replying

'Right, I completely forgot, I need to kill people and steal their talents in order to cultivate further'

Messor shook his head disappointed in himself

[Yes, you need to kill people… and it seems like this is the perfect place to do it]

'What do you mean?'

[Well think about it, you can only gather QI from beings you personally slain]

Messor sat and sighed, patiently listening to the system

[And currently, you belong to some high-ranking family. I'm sure you have plenty of prisoners here]

[So just kill them all and gather QI from them]

[I'm sure some of them are cultivators too so you should be able to jump a fair bit in power]

'But how would I even go about doing that? If I kill them without reason I'll be thought of as an evil tyrant'

[And? What's wrong with that? Just kill anyone who disagrees with you!]

'But right now I lack the power, so I can't just do that at this point'

[Hmm you're right… Then explain to your mother how you need the experience]

'Experience?'

[Yes, tell her about the assassination attempt. Explain how you tried to save him but he would have most likely killed you if you managed]

[Tell her that you need to learn how to kill so you won't hesitate in the future]

[If you don't learn, next time you might not be as lucky and never return home with your eyes open]

[Ask her to execute some death-row inmate, although be sure to first ask her if your family keeps any inmates before starting your whole speech]

Messor sat there for a while contemplating wherever he should do it or now.

Eventually, he arrived at the conclusion that he should just do it, if someone is going to kill them then it might as well be him, in addition to this if he doesn't kill someone he won't get stronger and will get stuck in limbo again.

'Alright, I think you are right System. I'll go and ask my mother about it tomorrow morning'

'Oh, actually I have a question for you'

[Hmm?] The system was intrigued about what Messor had to say

'What should I call you? I've been calling you system but do you have an actual name?'

[Well, my master had once called me Odin while he was in the process of creating me]

'Odin? That sounds like a nice name!' Messor thought as he fell asleep exhausted from his hard work.

When he wasn't trying to learn his techniques, he spent the rest of the time with his mother and they tried together to catch up on lost time.

While this was meant to be a time for rest and relaxation, Messor found it to be extremely exhausting however he couldn't for some reason say no to his mother.

—-----------

The next morning Messor woke up and as always refused the help of the temporary servants his mother had arranged for him.

Messor bathed and dressed before eating a quick breakfast that was brought in for him.

'Hopefully my request will be understood'

[Not accepted?]

'Accepted would be the best-case scenario, however we need it to be understood otherwise our only support will be gone'

[That's true, I'm happy to see you aren't a fool]

Messor chose to ignore this and went to visit his mother who currently resided in her own residence.

Messor walked through the front door and before he could even make his presence known he heard someone call out his name.

"Messor!" Lila Shrieked

"Mo…" Before Messor could even finish saying one word Lila had tackled him and grabbed him as always

"To what do I owe this pleasant surprise visit from my sweet baby?" Lila asked while a huge smile was firmly displayed on her face

"Ehm, can you let me go first?" Messor asked wearily while being smushed by Lila

"Oh, yes of course but only for a moment" Lila pouted while loosening her grip on Messor

"I'm not sure how I should ask this but…"

Messor proceeded in asking his mom about wherever the Torvus family had prisoners and if any of them were on death row.

After confirming that there are in fact death row inmates imprisoned by the family, Messor went on to explain what he wants to do

His mother remained expressionless throughout the whole thing saving her questions till the end.

She could see how serious Messor was and decided to treat the situation as seriously as he seemed to be treating it.

After Messor had finished speaking he waited patiently for his mother's reaction but she didn't react as he'd expected.

"I think that is a wonderful idea!"

"Huh?" Messor couldn't believe what he just heard

"I said that I think that it's a wonderful idea" Lila smiled

"Like you said if you hesitate in the future your life will be over and seeing how they are going to die anyway…" Lila trailed off smiling into the distance before shaking her head and continuing as nothing had happened.

"Then they might as well die doing something useful. Don't you think so too my child?" She smiled once again before grabbing Messor into another hug.

Messor smiled and went along with his mother's whims in case she threatens to change her mind about his idea to kill some death row inmates.

—---------

Sometime later Messor was being led by a guard down a spiraling staircase within a dungeon on the edge of the family's territory.

It was a secret location within the main prison reserved for the worst of the worst. If by some chance the prison was going to fall, it was designed for the lower levels to be buried so everyone there will die.

The guard who was leading Messor was extremely curious at the boy who his superiors told him to treat with the highest respect possible.

On top of this, he was told his mission was to watch over the boy as he executed three separate death row inmates.

He didn't understand this mission in the slightest and found it ridiculous however he knew better than to question his orders so he decided to ignore it.

He led the boy to a specifically designated room for him to perform his execution in.

"This way Young Master" The guard politely gestured the young boy inside. He decided to treat him with respect as if his life depended on it.

Not many people knew the face of the 3rd son of the Torvus family so Messor was quite shocked at this treatment but figured they were warned by their superiors in advance.

Messor stepped into a big rectangular room, it looked to be made of pure stone with 3 men chained to the wall opposite the entrance.

They were all on their knees with their hands bound behind their back and chained to the wall, they were forced to lean forwards to rest as a form of torture resulting in the chains pulling on their wrists and injuring them severely.

Messor frowned slightly before firming his resolve 'They most likely did something deserving of this place'

[Heh, good thinking, now kill them, I'd prefer slowly and painfully but you can do it however you like]

Messor felt like the system was teasing him slightly but decided to gloss over it.

"Can you leave the room?" Messor asked the guard

"I shouldn't, these are dangerous criminals and if anything happened the fault would be with me"

"Does that mean if they're no longer here you will leave the room?" Messor asked again

"Hmm, I guess if they are taken back to their cells then I believe it should be okay as long as I can stay outside"

Messor smirked "Not exactly what I wanted to know but should be good enough"

He walked towards the first person and lifted his hand towards him, the man was awake and looking at Messor but due to a paralytic drug he couldn't say or do anything but watch and wait for his death to come at the hands of a 15-year-old boy.

Messor lifted his hand and pointed his index finger forwards at the inmate's head right between the eyes.

His finger suddenly became coated in energy that resembled the night sky, it flickered around the finger like a flame.

To the guard, it looked like Messor had instantly ended the man's life with a poke of his finger, however to Messor and the inmate it was a very slow end. Messor felt like it went in slow motion and the inmate too felt unimaginable pain almost as if time had stopped as a portion of his head was disintegrated from existence.

[Like a hot knife through butter eh?] Odin Joked as Messor glanced at his hand in disbelief at the frightening power he had before preparing to execute the remaining two inmates.

The Chapter is a bit shorter than I wanted it to be but I'm just exhausted! Make sure to add this to your library if you want to find out how the other 2 inmates meet their end! We are 2 collections from 10 in total and I did promise an extra chapter when that happens!
