A transient youth with an unusual name, Hoku, stumbles upon a hidden message in his late uncle's library. Provoked by a profound fascination, he encounters a distorted timeframe that reincarnates him into "The Sequel," a perilous alternate universe plagued by mysteries and fallen civilizations. Stripped of his memories and identity, Hoku must navigate this treacherous realm by forging alliances with strangers who appear to share his misfortune. To return to his own world, he must unravel the parties that purposed him to become the ‘Navigator of the timestream’. His quest pits him against the apprentices of a formidable deity known as "The Abundant Creator," forcing him to recover the past and confront the enigmatic truths that upended his grasp of his own existence.
ive been procrastinating this for so long but since someone else did it i finally have a basis to yap about it!!! it’s a really cool story and the concept is absolute peak; but based off feedback from people i know, the hardest thing to understand is the timestream? so based off of my own inferences, ive made an ‘explanation’? ive also made a summary of what might happen..???? i really like this story, so i’ve been trying to recommend it to as many people as possible; please correct me if i made any wrong points / should add spoilers so basically between every time period(epoch) there is an infinite space, and there are many forms of these spaces, but first one hoku encounters is a barrier; an interconnected space of past+pres, the [tampering of the future (which is also the past which altered)] can cause a place[the original past/future(inferred)] to lack a “future”, so the present can only repeat again and again, and what is left of the neglected past will only turn into time’s “cavity”, -causing the present to become the past(inferred), falling down the cavity to earlier and earlier epochs until they return to the beginning, and thus, causing the end of the world [due to a lack of a remaining past or future(inferred)] as for the timestream/sequels, they are a sequel to that ending of the world, which was the future that wasn’t able to continue due to it’s end, and since another future is unable to take sequence, it is turned into a time loop(refer to the first paragraph; the story is hard to explain due to it’s paradoxical nature). for this case, the story revolves around a man with a peculiar name, hoku, and has no memories of his past. he finds a note addressed to him, which leads him to this distorted timeframe, the sequel. from there, he finds friends, goes against ‘The Abundant creator’, gains the title of ‘Navigator of the timestream’, and more, forcing him to face the past he has avoided for years. (based off the official summary of this webn) i really hope more people can read it; it’s incredibly fun to read and very enjoyable !! also late happy 104K views 🎉
I started The Covenant of Timeless Mysteries thinking l'd just read a few chapters, and suddenly, i was finishing the most recent one. From the start it pulls you into a world with so many mysteries, and every answer just makes more questions, and stopping feels impossible. The pacing is perfect!! It stars a little slow, letting the tension build, and before you know it, the action ramps up, and gets intense and almost gross at times but I love the detail sm. The worldbuilding is intricate, and the character dynamics are strong from the start They just work, and make every interaction feel important. And watching the protagonist navigate this universe from so early on is half the intrigue This isn't just a story you read it's one that completely takes over, and once you're in, you gotta see it through. But yeah I just had to leave a review because im already obsessed
From the Content Editor of TCOTM— It’s amazing to see more people discovering this novel! This isn’t so much a review as it is a heartfelt thank-you. The core idea originally came from hjkoiro, who shared it with me, and from there, we both built on it, making tons of changes to move beyond the usual “time travel” and “reincarnation/sci-fi” tropes. After four years of planning and mapping everything out—plus two more months of revisions—we’re still just getting started! Your support means the world to us. Thanks for keeping us motivated! —Juuni
