Chapter 8

Joshua takes a deep breath before opening his eyes. Currently, he has just finished meditating and learned something about his first power. He cannot activate it. When he tries it, he gets feedback from his power.

It was like this power was in sleep mode. It was like how his authority disabled after combining all of his rings together. He only needs to wait before his first power awakens and is ready to be used once again.

"Huuuu. I wonder how long I need to wait for it to activate once again?"

Joshua snaps from his thoughts when he hears his phone ringing and sees an unknown number calling him. He picks up his phone and says.

"Hello?"

"Joshua?"

"Yes. That's me. Who is this?"

"This is me, Laudia. I got your number from the Indonesia Hunting Guild. Can you get to our usual training chamber?"

"Sure. Can I ask why?"

"I will explain it when you arrive."

"Give me fifteen minutes."

Joshua put on his armor, took his weapon, and took the car key from the table. He is ready to go to meet with Laudia.

~Fifteen minutes later~

When he arrives at the usual training spot, he can see his mentor talking with a young beautiful young woman. He did not know who she was, but he knew that she was close to Laudia. As he gets closer, Laudia and her friend notice him.

"Joshua, come here!"

When he arrives in front of Laudia and her friend, he gives them both a handshake.

"Laudia, what is it you want to say?"

"First thing first, let me introduce you to my teammate and best friend, Rachel. Rachel, this is Joshua, my student."

Joshua smiles at Rachel and says.

"Joshua Hamil, it is a pleasure to meet you."

"Rachel Sugistina. The pleasure is mine."

Joshua then looks at Laudia before asking her the question he has.

"So, what is the business you want to talk about?"

"The reason why we call you here is to ask you if you want to join our party."

"Party? Are you sure? I'm a new C-rank, you know?"

"Not a problem. Our target is to beat the Kobold Chief on the tenth floor. We already gathered enough to re-summon the Kobold Chief. Both of us can defeat the Floor Boss, but it will take a long time and be too expensive as we need a lot of mana potion. The profit is too little to be worth the risk. Before you ask, there is no one strong enough for us to invite because of the expedition."

"Ah, yeah, that. Very well. Will you accept me as your party member?"

"Heh. Welcome to the Wild Hunt party, Joshua."

~Three hours later~

It takes them one hour to prepare all the necessary items for the hunt. Not only that, but they also need ten minutes to register Joshua as the party member of the Wild Hunt. They bought from the guild a Health Potion, Mana Potion, and Return Stone. Not only that, Joshua decided to purchase new armor and weapons.

It takes them another two hours to fight their way to the ninth floor. Because of Joshua's previous actions, the ninth floor is relatively quiet. There are only a hundred or so Kobolds that just spawned.

Because of this, Joshua and his party can safely walk to the boss's room. After a few minutes of walking, they arrive in front of a massive steel gate. The gate has a carving of four Kobold's heads. Laudia slowly put the four tokens inside Kobold's mouth, and a second after she put all of the tokens, the gate glowed a little before it slowly opened up.

Joshua can see what is behind the massive gate. It was a throne room, and he even could see a throne at the end of the room. Joshua can see a silhouette of a massive Infernal Beast sitting on the throne.

"Here we are. The boss room. Before we enter, you say that we need to drink a cold resistance potion?"

"Ah, yeah. Please drink them. Everything will be explained later when we get inside the boss room. It involves my power."

Laudia and Rachel shrug their shoulders and drink the potion. After drinking the potion, they walk inside the room. When all of them get inside the room, he can see the gate behind him is closed on its own.

When the gate closed, the silhouette in the distance standing up before suddenly roared loudly. A second later, a hundred or so Kobolds knights appear out of thin air and also roaring loudly.

"Joshua. Start doing whatever you need to do to activate your power."

"Understood."

Joshua takes a deep breath and starts to chant.

"Witness my greatness! Come! Come to me, my crown! The crown of the underworld! Your Prince calls on your power!"

Like before, the area around Joshua starts to freeze up, and a snowstorm is happening inside the boss area. Even the Kobold Chief looked around in confusion.

"This is the reason why I want you two to get that Cold resistance potion. This snowstorm will slow down everyone who does not have high cold resistance."

"I see."

"Anyway, should we start the plan?"

"Yes. We shall."

Rachel and Joshua nod their head and prepare their role in this fight. Rachel starts to chant while Laudia runs toward the Kobold Knight before shouting.

"RAGH!"

As she roars loudly, a pitch-black chain appears from her body and connects her body to all the Kobold Knight around her. The chain was not connected to the Kobold Chief, who decided to sit on his throne again as he was too far away from her.

After Laudia activates her power, Rachel finishes her chant, and suddenly Laudia and Joshua's bodies glow in green color. Joshua looks at his body for a second as he can feel his power increase.

"Joshua, let's test if you are more of a damage dealer than a tank! Attack them!"

"Gladly."

With a wave of his hand, fifty swords made of ice appear out of thin air and rain upon the Kobold Knight. More than thirty Kobold Knights died from a single attack in a few seconds. After killing that many Kobold, Joshua gives a small smirk at Laudia and says.

"Is that good enough?"
