Chapter 9

Joshua blocks an incoming attack with his shield and creates five swords out of thin air before stabbing the Kobold Magician with it. Joshua looks around and sees only a few more kobolds are running around.

The strategy Laudia told home about is that they need to kill all the Kobolds in the area, before they fight the Kobolds Chief. The reason? Kobold Chief has a special power called Chieftain Never Die. This power lets him regenerate health at high speed if there are Kobolds in the boss room.

This is Joshua's job. He needs to search the boss' room for any Kobolds that hide behind the pillar while Laudia gets the Boss' attention. Joshua decides to run around the boss's room once more and decide that there are no more Kobolds other than the group of Kobold Knights near the boss.

"We are clear!"

Joshua shouted and ran toward Laudia to continue the second stage. Killing the boss.

"Good! Joshua, go and kill the minions!"

"Roger!"

Joshua uses his first orb and kills one Kobold Knight in an instant before creating another wave of sword rain to kill the rest of the Kobold Knights. The attack did not kill all of them, but Joshua and Laudia finished the job.

With all the smaller Kobold dead, the boss's body starts to glow red. This is the second form of the boss. He is currently in Frenzy mode. This mode doubles his overall power until he is killed. This usually becomes a problem for other parties but not this one.

Rachel's body glows for a moment before suddenly, a one-meter tall humanoid figure appears next to her. This figure has bright green hair, green eyes, pointy ears, and a butterfly wing behind its back.

This is Rachel's fairy she named Fluffy.

"Fluffy! Debuff mode!"

This is what makes Rachel an important supportive Blessed One. Her fairy has three modes: Buff Mode, Debuff Mode, and Healing Mode. Buff mode lets her increase her ally's overall power, and Healing mode is where Fluffy heals the other and creates a barrier that can take a small to medium damage.

However, the Debuff mode is the most important. Debuff mode lets Fluffy erase all buff effects the boss has. Not only that, but Fluffy also can reduce the overall power her opponent has. This mode is the perfect mode for their current situation.

"Fluffy! Erase, now!"

"Kyu~!"

The fairy shouted, and suddenly the red glow around the boss' body disappeared.

With the get out of the Frenzy Mode, both Laudia and Joshua charges toward the boss. With the boss only attacking Laudia, Joshua is able to do a huge amount of damage. The Kobold Chief body is not sprouting a large amount of ice spike from Joshua's power. However, the boss is resilient enough that he did not immediately die from this attack.

He continues to attack Laudia with his massive butcher sword and ignores Joshua, who attacks his body from the side.

"Take this!"

Joshua creates a massive ice spike using his fourth orb. It takes him a few minutes to create a massive ice spike, but the gigantic ice falls on the boss' head and kills him when it is done.

Rachel shouts and quickly runs toward the loot drop. Laudia releases a deep breath before putting away her weapon. Joshua followed the example of his captain and put away his weapon.

"Laudia, how much do you think we get in this hunt?"

"Hmmm? If we sell them all? Around.... Two hundred million rupiahs? Yeah, around that."

It takes them six hours to hunt all four Kobolds Chieftains. Their actions gather the attention of other Blessed One. Some of them even Livestream it, and it gathers even more attention. The Wild Hunt party became a small celebrity from their achievement.

Their fame grew even more when they sold three Kobold Butcher Swords to the Indonesia Hunting Guild. The Kobold Butcher Sword is a rare item and has a small chance of being dropped.

"Cheers!"

Joshua, Laudia, and Rachel are currently inside a bar celebrating their successful hunt.

"This is the most successful hunt we have. Cheer for Joshua!"

"Cheers!"

Laudia gives a toast to their new member and drinks her beers. Joshua smiles a little and also drinks the beer in his hand. It's been a while since he drank with a friend like this. The last time he did something like this was in his previous life.

He looked out the window and smiled. He wants it to stay like this. A peaceful night and surrounded by his friends.
