Chapter 15

Joshua walks around the park with an ice cream in his hand. Following behind him is a group of people. There are seven people following him from when he gets out of the guild building. They are the people that Rio, Kesha's brother, is sending.

However, they did not know that Joshua already knew about their presence. He decides to walk around the city to make sure that he is their target. After confirming that he is their target, Joshua walks toward the dense part of the park where there are no people around.

With no witnesses around, Joshua turns around and says,

"You guys can get out now. You guys are either a newbie, or you guys just suck. I have known about your presence since the beginning."

After hearing his word, his stalker gets out from behind the tree. Joshua can see five men and two women following him. They all are a Blessed One. They are an E-rank blessed one.

"So, what are you guys doing following me?"

"We are hired to follow you, and right now, our boss wants to talk with you."

The woman standing in the middle of the group takes out a tablet from her bag. A second later, he can see a man appear on the tablet. This man has brown spiky hair and brown eyes.

"Ah, you must be the one that Kesha is talking about, huh?"

"Kesha? Ah, the little girl that was bothering my little sister yesterday."

"Bothering? You are the one who decided to hurt my precious little sister."

"What? I think we have a misunderstanding here. I never and will not touch your sister. She is annoying, but she is not annoying enough for me to raise my hand."

"Hmph. Your words will not dissuade me. Beat him up, boys. Lisa, could you hold the tablet for me? I want to watch him scream."

"Of course, boss."

Joshua sighed and took a battle stance. When he sees them coming at him, Joshua dodges the incoming attack and does an uppercut shattering the jaw of the first man. Joshua has a sheepish expression when he sees the bleeding man underneath him.

"Oops! I don't mean that! I thought he was more durable than that."

"You bastard!"

Joshua can see the incoming attack as if it was a slow-motion movement. He already used fighting against the high-speed monster in the Tower. The Kobolds are ten times faster than them.

Joshua easily dodges and does a counterattack against them. They knock down immediately with a single hit to the head. They are so slow to him that he can predict where they are going. The only one that gives him a little bit of a challenge is the one that has the power to increase speed. Even then, the user did not go creative with it and let him predict his movement.

After taking care of the mob, Joshua looks at Lisa, the woman who is holding the tablet, and says.

"So, do you wanna go? These guys are not even worth a warmup."

Seeing she did not move, Joshua looks at the men behind the monitor and says,

"Let me give you a little advice. Don't take information at face value. Do your own research. I did not touch your precious little sister. She is the one who is making trouble. I will let this one slide because I will do the same if my little sister tells me that she is getting hurt, but next time, I will get serious, and I will make you regret it."

Without wasting any more time, Joshua walked past the pale woman who was standing without saying any word.

Rio massaged his forehead as a headache started to appear. He decides to investigate what his sister said and finds out that she is lying to him. She decided to lie to him and almost get himself killed.

Joshua Hamil, A C-rank Blessed One. The one who set a record of killing the most Kobolds and Slime in the country solo.

A very powerful C-rank who will soon be promoted to B-rank in a month if his contact words are right.

*Knock* *Knock*

"Brother? It's me."

Rio snaps from his thoughts and says,

"Come in"

Rio got up from his chair and decided to sit on the couch in front of the desk. When he sees his sister get inside his office, he says,

"Please take a seat."

Kesha looks at her brother for his weird behavior but decides to obey his word and sit down on the opposite side of her brother.

"Kesha, you said that you are injured from your friend's brother attacking you, right?"

"Yes! He is such a bully! He dared to raise his hand to me and hit me."

"Hmmm."

Kesha becomes even more uneasy at the sound her brother makes.

"Is that so? Can you show me the location where he hit you?"

"Here!"

Kesha points at her right shoulder. Rio looks at her shoulder and notices there are no bruises on her skin or even any injury. It looks like his investigation is correct.

"I see. I want to tell you about the man who hit you."

"Really?! What happened to him?! Are you going to beat him up?! Or have you done that?"

Instead of answering her, Rio gets up from the couch and slaps his sister, a twelve years old sister. A sister that did not have any power.

"Do you have any idea who he is?! Do you know how much trouble you put me under?! You almost killed our entire family!"

Kesha snaps from her shock and looks at her brother with teary eyes.

"A nobody! He is nothing but a thief who stole his car! A thief who stole expensive clothes!"

"Y-You… Argh!"

Rio looked at his sister in disbelief before punching the table in front of him, destroying it. For the first time in her life, Kesha realizes that she is fucked up after feeling his brother's aura.

"He is not a nobody! He is a C-rank Blessed One! He will be promoted to the B-rank Blessed One! He will be the fastest person in this country to reach that stage! If he is a nobody, then what am I? A shit?! I'm a D-rank Blessed One! I still have a long way to reach the C-rank, and he will reach the B-rank in a month."

Now Kesha really knows about her blunder. She always thought that Tiara and her family would not be blessed with power because of their status as poor people. She always thought that only people that have already been blessed with wealth could only get power.

"B-But he can't do anything, right?! Killing is illegal!"

"In here, yes! In the Tower?! It was free for all! Once I get inside the Tower, I will be a free target! Our family cannot do anything about it. Our family has also become a target. Yes, killing is illegal, but it can still happen without the law seeing."

He knows this because he has already seen it happen. His former party member died from a curse after offending a B-rank blessed one by calling her a whore. A week later, his family died because of their ribs coming out of their flesh while they were in the guild cell for protection.

The Tower is a lawless place where the strong survive, and right now, Joshua is stronger than him. While he can use his money to hire a killer for hire, he knows that a powerful assassin is very expensive. He can only hire a B-rank assassin, and even then, he needs to use many favors to contact them.

He did not want to lose that favor because his sister lied to him about something that did not happen.

"You will be back to Medan and stay with mother and father. I did not want my career over because of your oversized ego."

After saying that, Rio got out of his office and looked at his guard before saying.

"Take her to her room and make sure she can't go out. Lock the window and the door to make sure she cannot get out. Also, get someone here to clean my office."
