Chapter 25

Joshua thrust his sword forward and stabbed the snake coming at him. He can see Laudia also stabbing the other head of the snake with her sword. Joshua, Laudia, and Rachel are ready to hunt in this tower after buying a shield spell from the guild and buying an Emerald Snake's antidote in bulk before the price skyrockets by the appearance of a tower with an Emerald Snake inside it.

Currently, they are already hunting thirty-two Emerald Snakes and fifteen Bicorn on their way to the second floor. They use different attack tactics for each Infernal Beast that comes toward them. When they are facing a Bicorn, Laudia will attract its attention by wearing a flashlight around her neck, and when the Bicorn almost reaches her, Joshua will conjure an ice spear from the ground to impale the Bicorn, and lastly, Rachel will finish the Bicorn if is not dead yet.

When they fight against the Emerald Snake, Joshua will stab it before it can leap toward him and his party while Laudia takes care of the other snake that separates itself from its main body.

It is a rather risky tactic as a single mistake can become fatal, but it was the most effective. Not only that, as long as Rachel is not injured, they can heal any injury they get, and every venom they get will be purged from their body with the help of an antidote that they bought at a relatively low price.

After another one hour of fighting, they arrive in front of a teleportation device that will take them to the second floor. They look at each other and nod their head before touching the device. A second later, they arrive on the second floor of the tower.

If the first floor is a dense forest, the second floor is grassland, but the grass in this place is not short or small. The grass is very tall and thick. It is also very dry. Single fire and the entire floor will be set ablaze.

"This is bad."

"Why?" Joshua asked while looking at the grassland in front of him. "This should not be too different from the forest, right?"

"No. This is much worse. The grass will fully cover all the Infernal Beast's body, unlike in the forest. Not only that, but this grass is also very dry, and a single fire will set this entire floor ablaze."

"... I see. I understand now. If the entire floor catches on fire, the friendly force will also catch on fire."

"Aye. Not only that, we will be forced to fight against a united Infernal Beast. We needed to get to the third floor so we could teleport to that floor from the teleportation device in the entrance. We need to do this fast before the others get here. I don't want to experience the chaos."

"Good." Laudia looks at Rachel and says."We need a shield to protect ourselves from the snake attack. Prepare the antidote as well. We need to go fast."

Rachel nods her head and says.

"On it."

Rachel then starts to chant, and after a minute of continuous chanting, a golden barrier appears around Joshua, Laudia, and Rachel's bodies. The barrier around them can block any incoming attack twenty times. However, it can only block three attacks if it hits a high-level attack.

Lucky for them, Emerald Snake is not very strong physically and what makes them a B-rank Infernal Beast is their venom. The only thing that they need to watch out for is the Bicorn that can pierce through their shield like a spear piercing a wet tissue.

"Alright, come on. We need to get out of here, fast."

After saying that, the Wild Hunt party starts to run through the field of tall grass. While they are walking at a fast pace, they are also very careful about it. They watch if there is a weird movement on the ground or hear something coming at them.

Joshua swings his sword and creates a wall of ice to block any incoming attack while Rachel and Laudia finish the Infernal Beast. Each of them works together like a well-oiled machine. Each of their moves is followed by the other to cover the other opening or finish the job of killing the Infernal Beast.

They continue to fight their way through the sea of tall grass before a massive explosion in the distance breaks their concentration. Joshua, Laudia, and Rachel look at the source of the explosion for a second before Laudia curses.

"We need to search for the teleportation device! Fast! Go! Go! Go!"

Without wasting any more time, the Wild Hunt party starts to run toward where they thought the device should be. Without them knowing, the grassland behind them starts to catch on fire, and what makes matters worse, each tall grass that catches on fire creates a small explosion.

The calm but dangerous floor becomes a floor that is filled with explosions and fire. Joshua decides to act when he hears the explosion start to get near them.

"Get together! We cannot outrun the explosion!"

"Tch! Joshua! Ice Wall! Rachel! Support!"

After hearing that, Joshua creates an Ice Dome around them, and Rachel points her staff at the dome while chanting. A second later, the dome glows in green color. This spell makes any item indestructible for five minutes for a small object and ten seconds for a huge object. This spell can only last for ten-second when applied to the ice dome, but it was good enough as the explosion came faster than anticipated.

*BOOM* *BOOM*

Explosion after explosion is happening on the second floor of the Kalimantan B-rank tower. The one who caused the explosion is already dead from the explosion, and her corpse is burned beyond recognition.

Joshua looks around and sees that they are the only humans left on the second floor. The only one standing is a dome made of ice that almost melted from the fire. The only one left on this floor is the infernal beast who is looking at them from all directions.

When Laudia sees the Infernal Beast looking at them, she clicks her tongue and says.

"This is what I am afraid of. Prepare to fight!"
