Chapter 28

Joshua shakes his head and sees George look at him from a distance. He can see the Saint looking at him in confusion before frowning. While George is thinking really hard about the reason why Joshua is not dead, Joshua looks at his power and smiles.

He should be feeling the side effect of using his fifth orb, but it looks like it was reset to its full power when he is dead.

"I can use this."

Joshua got up from the ground and took a deep breath.

"Witness my greatness! Come! Come to me, my crown! The crown of the underworld! Your Prince calls on your power!"

After activating his authority once again, the fifth orbs move in front of him and let him take it. When George sees Joshua summon his authority back, he starts to charge toward Joshua, intending to kill him again.

Joshua looked at the orb for a second before crushing it. A second later, a massive magic circle appears in front of him, and the light coming from the magic circle stops George, who is preparing to take any trap head-on.

Lucky for him, it was not a trap. Unfortunately for him, it was worse than a trap. Coming from the magic circle is a horrible creature. It was a creature that resembled a dog, but instead of a normal dog, this creature was the size of a three-floor building.

Not only that, its entire body is filled with a blood-red flame that is so hot it can melt steel in a few seconds. However, what makes this creature well known is the three heads it has. It was an iconic creature, after all.

A dog from hell who has three heads. The guardian dog of the underworld. The pet of Hades. This creature has many titles, but it only has one name: Cerberus.

After summoning Cerberus, Joshua points his finger at George and says.

"Attack him"

Cerberus leaped at the Saint with a loud roar, who was preparing his sword to block the massive beast. Bayard dodges the incoming paw attack while its master swings his sword to attack Cerberus' paw. While it does damage to the Cerberus, it did not do enough damage to stop the massive beast.

He needed to look out for Cerberus' attack, but Joshua also decided to join the battle. While his overall authority's power is decreasing by half, he can still use it. With a wave of his hand, twenty ice spikes appear underneath Bayard.

If he cannot damage the knight, he only damages the mount, and the knight will fall alongside its mount.

While the ice spikes did not do much damage, they still did some damage, and it was enough for Joshua.

Cerberus continues to attack George wildly and releases a hellfire from its mouth. This fire is strong enough to penetrate the defensive ability of Bayard, and slowly but surely, George gets damaged.

The same with Bayard. Joshua's continued attack starts to take effect on its body, and it slows down its movement. With its movement slowed down, the Cerberus easily hits Bayard and George.

Seeing his situation, George decides to activate one of his authorities.

"O, Lord! I ask for your guidance! Help your lamb fight against the darkness!"

After finishing his short chant, a figure appeared from the sky. This figure has a humanoid shape, but its face is anything but human. Its face is filled with nothing but eyes. There are eyes in the middle of its face, and smaller eyes surround it.

Not only that but the wings on this humanoid figure are also filled with eyes that shine with a kaleidoscope color.

This authority is coming from the Legend of Saint George praying to God, and God answers his prayer by sending the angel Michael to give him the power to endure the torture and the power to kill the one who tortures him.

The angel opened its wings and let it shine. A second later, George's body also shines. This authority boosted his defensive and offensive power by a hundred times for a certain amount of time. Not only that, if George is on top of Bayard, the authorities also give it wings to let it fly.

George charges at the Cerberus with newfound power and attacks it with his sword. If the previous attack only did a small amount of damage, now it does the opposite. A single attack creates a gash on Cerberus's flesh.

Seeing the new situation, Joshua decides to help Cerberus in defending against George's attack. However, the Ice Block Joshua created to block George's attack is not enough to block the attack. Each attack still hit true, and slowly but surely, the Cerberus started to slow down its attack and started defending and retreating with Joshua on top of it.

With Joshua's help, the Cerberus was able to dodge and block most of the incoming attack. His goal is to take the fight as long as he can so he can learn any weakness George has. Without him knowing, he made the correct decision.

After five minutes of chasing Joshua and his Cerberus around, the blessing that he got from the angel is gone. Now George cannot do the same amount of damage as before, and Joshua notices it.

With a mental command, he orders Cerberus to go all out attacking George. Cerberus releases another loud roar before leaping at George and pins him down with its paw before releasing a fire breath from its three heads.

The only reason George did not immediately die is because of Bayard and the unknown passive authority coming from his sword. George did not want to use his sword authority, but he would be dead eventually if the situation continued like this.

After ordering Bayard to retreat with its full speed and get a good distance, George put his sword in front of him and started to chant to activate his strongest authority that made up his entire legend.

"Hark and take heed. I bring with me the path of Salvation, for Thou shalt fear neither enemy nor serpent. Come now! The Blade By Which Evil Force is Slain! Ascalon!"
