"I love winter" Chloe thought to herself.
The cold fresh air streamed through her fur as she ran through the forest.
She was practically flying at this point as she dodged tree after tree, bush after bush. The feeling of complete and utter freedom and exhilaration, was something that she could never find elsewhere.
It came to her so naturally, testing her reflexes with every stride, one wrong move and she would be sprawled on the forest floor, but she didn't trip. She never did.
She caught scent of a pheasant, and with a wolfy grin she changed direction and so the hunt began. Pheasants were always a treat to find due to how incredibly stupid they were. She could walk up right behind one and they wouldn't even know she was there till her teeth were in it's neck.
She caught up to the animal fairly fast, and if she'd been in her human form she would've laughed. Of course it was trying to cross the road, such a typical pheasant move.
She just stood there watching from the shadows, more amused then anything, as it struggled to cross. It finally decided to go for it and Chloe, not wanting to lose it, ran out into the road after it, only to get hit by a car. Flying through the air, Chloe could've sworn the pheasant was watching her from the other side of the road, laughing at her. She knew there was a reason they waited till the car got close enough to touch before crossing, the evil little things.
At the back of her head she heard the car screech to a sudden stop.
The driver got out and rushed over to her, close enough to touch her, to help her. Neither happened, instead she lay there as the driver conversed over the phone with someone. She overheard little snippets "It looks quite bad." and, "It came out of nowhere."
It was then that Chloe started to lose consciousness.
