Mayami attends to Jewel

The princess was surprised the way the monsters behaved when they saw Rex instead of attacking him. A lot of questions came running through her mind,Who is this young man? Where is he from? What is he doing in the forest at this time and why didnt the beasts attack him? These were the questions going through her mind when the beasts left.

"May be he is a spirit "she murmured to herself.

"Well who ever he is i dont care,the most important thing is that he came on time to save me from those strange creatures" she said to herself as she cared less, at least so she thought.

"Awwwchi my leg!!!" she screamed immediately she tried to move her right leg.

Her shouting made Rex to come out of his shock from what just happened between him and the beasts. "Are you ok young lady ?" he asked as he turned and walked closer to the princess. The princess was scared to reply

because she felt he could be a ghost.

"Were you hurt by those beasts?" Rex asked again, but the princess still didn't answer him. She managed to move back as Rex tried coming closer to her again despite the pain she is feeling all over her body. She then felt a sharp pain at the back of her head, she raised her right hand to touch that particular place, she could feel something on her hands which she knew was nothing but blood.

" I'm bleeding ,yes this is blood" she murdered to herself as she tried to smell her hand to be sure it was actually blood. The night is far goon and there was no light so she had to smell her hand to confirm it was blood.

"Princess Jewel you seriously need help,the night is far goon and this is the only person around here to help you so accept his help human or spirit, she said to herself"

Rex who has being observing her knew she was scared of him though she is in serious pain and needs help. He didn't want to waist anymore time after he saw blood on Jewel's hand.

"She is badly injured " he murmured to himself.

"Young lady you must be taken out of this forest now,you must be attended to fast because you are badly injured. My name is Rex ,I came here to hunt but let the hunting wait for another day. Permit me to take you to a safe place for treatment", he said as he stretched out his right hand to princess Jewel.

Jewel though still scared stretched out her hand but her hand dropped immediately .

"Hmmm she is becoming weak,God help us" Rex murmured to himself as he wasted not time in carrying the princess on his back.

"Please tell me why are you here by this time and what exactly happened to you?" Rex asked the princess as he walked down a lonely path with the princess on his back. Jewel was really becoming weak but she managed to answer his questions.

"I was kidnapped but the kidnappers pushed me out of their car to distract the monsters when the monsters were chasing their car" she replied with a weak voice.

"Oh I see, what a pity" said Rex.

After they walked for a little while in silence he decided to initiate another conversation

"So tell me what is your name?" Rex asked again.

"My name is is ...", she said with a faint voice, her voice turning into a whisper as she couldn't complete the statement.

"I'm listening" said Rex, but the princess didn't answer again. "Young lady, young lady" Rex called on her but there was no response from the princess. He immediately stopped walking, put princess Jewel on the ground to observe her. "She is unconscious" he said.

" I must take her home to mother fast, she needs urgent care" He carried her on his back again and tried to walk faster.

"It is 9:50 pm and my son is not home yet, he normally does not exceed 9:30pm before he gets home" said worried Mayami Rex's mother.

"I just hope all is well" she added looking at Obed her husband and their younger son Prime who was sitting beside his father.

"Did he say he will go somewhere else apart from checking his trap in the bush?" Obed asked.

"No he didn't" replied his Mayami.

"Well I don't think there is a problem,something must have delayed him" said Obed.

"God almighty will protect him and bring him back to us,Amen" he added.

"Let me go and wait for him at the gate" said Mayami but before she even stood up to move the gate opened and Rex entered with the princess on his back.

"Welcome my son" said Mayami with all smiles on her face. She stood up to go to him but noticed he was carrying someone on his back.

"Ahh son who are you carrying like that? What happened son?" She asked as she moved closer to her son worried on what must have happened.

Obed also stood up with their younger son Prime to see who Rex brought home on his back.

"It's a long story " said Rex.

"All I can say now is that this young lady needs our help,we most attend to her now because she is losing blood. I will tell you all that happened when she is stable" Rex said as he put pincess Jewel on the mat at the front of their house.

"Mother, I hand her over to you" said Rex as he positioned her well on the mat.

Mayami is talented in using herbs to treat sickness,including bone setting and wound treatments. So she quickly took position after hearing what Red said and examined jewel properly from head to toe.

"She sustained multiple injuries and she is bleeding from the back of her head" she said out to the hearing of others then rushed inside the house, brought a pot, put some herds inside it ..."Prime take this pot,add some water and put it on fire while i attend to the bleeding wound on her head" she instructed her younger son.

She put tepid water in a bowel and added salt to it, using a white flannel she deeped into the tepid salt water and cleaned the surface of the wound on princess Jewels head. She put back the flannel which is now socked with blood into the salt water and rinsed it,then used it to clean the wound the second time.

"The wound is not deep as l thought" she said to her husband and two sons as she took a closer look on the bleeding wound on Jewel's head.

"Ok that God for that" said Rex. "Mother, blood is coming out again! Rex notified his mum who went to check the boiling herbs on fire.

"Ok, I'm coming" said His mother. She came back, cleaned the wound again and applied a firm bandage on Jewel's head. "This bleeding will stop in few minutes" she said to Rex who was the only one by her side at that time.

"The herds i'm boiling will be used to dress her wounds to heal fast. Now stay with her let me go and get one of my clothes to change her, her dress is so dirty and soaked with blood" she said as she went inside her room to get some clothes for Jewel. In few minutes she was back.

"Ok son i'm back, you can now go and take your bath, then eat your dinner afterwards. Please tell your father and brother that am dressing her up so none of you should come close until i'm done. She needs privacy even though she is unconscious".

"Ok mother I will do just that" said Rex as he left.

Mayami undressed princess Jewel and cleaned her up with warm water from head to toe. She cleaned other wounds on other parts of her body with salt water,dried her body with a dry flannel and then changed her cloth.
