Rex narrates his story

Rex rushed his bath and hurried his food as well. He couldn't wait to stay by the princess side while his mother treats her.

"I'm done mother" Rex said as he stood at the door. "Please can i come now or are you still changing her?" he asked still from a distance. Earlier before he went to take his bath he had helped his mother to carry the princess into one of their rooms where she would be staying.

"You can come son, i have made something for her to take, she should be able to take this...here i made pap for her so I need you to help me put her in sitting position, hold her back and head so that i can feed her. May be after taking the pap and sugar,she will wake because it is possible she has not eaten for long. Please tell your dad and brother to come too. We want you to tell us what happened and who she is" said Mayami.

Rex went and called his dad and brother, then came and held princess Jewel up while his mother fed her. Princess Jewel was given few spoons of pap that was mixed with lots of sugar, a spoon of herbal pain killer and few spoons of water.

"Mother, why are you feeding her slowly " Prime Rex's younger brother asked.

"It is because she is not fully conscious,I don't want her to choke or aspirate" Mayami replied.

"But why those few spoons mother?" Prime asked again, "give her more he added".

"No son the few spoons are enough to make her wake up if she fainted as a result of not eating for a long time".

"Ok mother but ....."no more questions for now prime", Mayami interrupted him.

"Rex dear tell us how you met this young lady and what happened to her"

"I went to check my traps and set new ones as usual, just when i finished setting traps and was about to start checking the traps i set in the morning, a loud cry for help came not too far from where i was, i ran towards the direction of the cry, because I knew it was a cry for help.When I reached the place the cry was coming from, it was very close to a road. I saw this girl sitting on the ground crying for help and was surrounded by four strange creatures that looks like monsters. I wasn't scared at all but was ready to fight the monsters and save the poor girl. I expected the monsters to rush and fight me but to my greatest surprise,when i came closer to them they moved some steps backwards, fell on their knees with their face to the ground. I was confused because i didn't understand what was going on" Rex narrated to them.

Obed and his wife exchanged glances with each other after hearing the story.

"What is it mother.....father is there any problem with what i just said" Rex asked because he noticed them exchange glances as he was talking.

"Notting my son, we are surprise at what you are saying" Obed quickly replied.

"Please continue we are listening" Mayami said. They pretended they dont know any thing but they knew some thing they are yet to tell their son.

"The monsters trembled in fear as they were on the ground" continued Rex, "so l decided to take advantage of the situation. But before I could say a word,one of the monsters started apologizing to me for them trying to hurt her, "please forgive us,we are sorry for trying to hurt her" this was what I heard.

"I will pardon you because you did not harm her, now get up and disappear from here before i unleash my anger on you",I yelled with loud voice. I just managed to find some words to reply and not to show that i was shocked.

They got up immediately and ran as fast as their legs could carry them. I was confused all through that period and to be frank even up till now am still confused but that doesn't matter as long as she is fine.

The lady i brought home could not tell me everything that happened before she fainted. She just said she was kidnapped and when the monsters came attacking the kidnappers, they pushed her out of the car to distract the monsters. Then they drove away leaving her with the monsters.

"Oh poor girl" said Mayami. "Did she not tell you her name and where she came from before passing out?"

"No mother, she was about saying it but couldn't before she passed out,"Rex replied.

"Hmmm it is well,thank God both of you were saved" said Mayami.

"Exactly "said Obed. It would have been a different story by now.

"Rex my son you did well by helping her,i'm proud of you my son" said Obed as he patted Red on the shoulder.

"Thank you father, i just did what you and mother has always thought me, to always help people whenever i can" replied Rex.

"Ok everyone the night is far gone, let's go and sleep" Mayami Said reminding everyone it was time for bed.

"Rex you need to get some rest now, your mother will stay with the girl, let's hope that she wakes up before day break so she can tell us who she is" Obed instructed.

"Wait everyone,did you people notice that she moved her legs now?" asked Mayami as she noticed Jewel move.

They all turned to observe the girl,then she moved her right hand.

"she is waking up",said Obed.

Before Obed finished what he wanted saying, princess Jewel shouted "help me i dont want to die!!!", then turned her face towards her left and opened her eyes.

"Thank goodness she is finally awake", said Rex as he went to hold her and told her to relax that she not in that bush any more.

"Where am i?" Jewel asked as she glanced through the room and then looked back at Rex , she recognized him immediately.

" I brought you home to my mother to help treat your injuries with herds because she is very good at that," replied Rex.

"Oh thanks for that and thanks for saving me from those monsters too,I'm greatful" said Jewel. She held her head with her two hands, looked round the room again, it was then she saw Rex parents and younger brother.

"Thank you sir and ma, please am sorry for troubling you with my problems, I didn't mean to do that" she said.

"You are welcome but its not a problem to us" Rex parents both chorused together.

"Why are you holding your head like that"?. Mayami asked. "Headache, terrible headache"answered Jewel.

"Don't worry you will feel much better in the morning ok" Mayami reassured her. By tomorrow morning when you are stronger you will introduce yourself to us".

Obed and Prime said good night to them and entered to sleep.

"Please I need some water" Jewel told Rex. Water was brought by Rex.. here is the water you requested.

"Thanks, really you are a good man, I appreciate everything, I could have been killed you know if not for your quick intervention." Said Jewel

"It's ok,you are welcome " said Rex.

While they spoke, Mayami who had gone to put some things in other came back. She had gone to lock their entrance gate as well as their doors.

Jewel was already on the bed when she entered the bedroom. She sat on the chair,looked at her son Rex who was standing beside Jewel and told him to go and sleep.

"it's time to sleep,and like I said you will be much better in the morning"

"Ok ma thanks a lot, replied Jewel.

"Ok Son you can go to your room now, you have tried for the day,so go and sleep" she said".

"Ok mother", he held Jewel's hand and said good night to her then turned to his mother and also said good night before leaving the room.

"Good night too" replied Jewel and Mayami. Rex left the room and his mother locked the door.
