You owe me

Lucy excused herself when his guest were ready to leave, she went out to the pool staring into space thinking about the deal she just made with the people only Daniel knew.

For the first time, someone other than children and Daniel praises her talent in cooking. She felt really excited and at the same time anxious about the event in three days. Meeting and working with Daniel really made good changes in her life. Would her life now become worth living?

Then the thought of cooking in that event made her heart pound. That place isn't just a place, it is a place where the riches gather.

What if she cooks the dishes wrong? What if she makes a mistake? Or her bad luck follows her there?

The thought of that made shiver travel down her spine caused she imagined the look of disappointed client yelling at her for making the dishes wrong and regretting they hired her.

She opened her eyes and touch her forehead that was creasing. Why doesn't she think of positive event happening? What if other people finds her dishes so delicious that they hire her and then she might be the one declining because the order were too much. The thought of that made her smile.

She sighed and stared at the pool that shows the reflection of the gloomy sky.

"Boom"

She gasped and turned around to see who startled her and of course it was Daniel. She was actually waiting for him so she could head back home soon. She eyed him and turned back to the pool.

"I wasn't startled" she lied. He stood next to her with his hands crossed behind him.

"I know" he replied simply, he knows she doesn't admit things easily so he just played along

They became silence for a while

"Seems you complimenting my dish all the time was true" she said.

"You never believed me?" He asked gazing at her but she didn't, she only glanced at him when she wanted to.

"I did but sometimes I think it's an exaggeration"

He stared at her and feeling his eyes on her, she glanced at him. "So now that a friend of mine came telling you that you felt it isn't an exaggeration"

She kept mute not knowing what to say. She couldn't say Yes because it sounded like she didn't appreciate his comments and couldn't say no, that would be a lie. After hearing he's kind of a womanizer, she felt everything he says was just to flatter her but now she realized not all he says.

When she didn't reply for a while. "So who taught you to cook such delicious meals?" He asked, averting his gaze from her.

"No one in particular, when I was a child. I watch my Dad cook because he cooks not my Mom. I really don't know how sure that was because I was young then but before he left me, I learnt some recipes from him and so I guess I got my cooking talent from him." She said sounding as if remembering some memories.

"You owe me you know, I don't really tell people about myself or this opened to people except my friend" she glanced at him to see the expression on his face.

She sighed fighting the urge to cry, she misses her father even if he had been gone for a long time.

Daniel saw her true emotions this time, she didn't hide it or maybe couldn't hide it. "Sorry" was the only word that came out of his mouth.

She had her lips pressed into a thin line when she glanced at him. "It's nothing besides it has been such a long time" she said.

She had her hair in front of her face so he lifted his hand and tucked her hair behind her ear. She offered a fake smile and turned to look at the pool. She let out a deep sigh... "I guess it's time for me to head home" she mentioned.

"And I guess it's good night Miss Lucy Hunt" he said, she turned to him and chuckled before turning around and she turned back to him again, he was waiting for her to leave his sight.

"Good night.... Sir" she laughed and waved at him, he waved back and she left.

Just when she left the gate, a car drove past her but she wasn't focused on the car instead on the road and then another car.

The two men met themselves at the entrance to Daniel's house. They greeted each other and followed the maid to where Daniel was. He was still standing by the pool but now with a glass of red wine. He looked like he was in a deep thought when the men found him. They were dressed formally, in suits but in different colors.

"We are here bro.... I mean Mr Fiver Daniel" Michael the youngest out of the three of them and the only one beard spoke bringing the man's attention to them. Daniel was the oldest while Eric was just a little older than Michael.

When Daniel turned around the three stared at each other for a while before bursting into laughter.

"That was weird" Daniel spoke, while Michael said something to a maid close to him before going forward with Eric to Daniel.

"Totally weird" Michael agreed. "I mean it felt like time stopped and the universe stopped moving" he said and the maid from earlier brought him a glass of red wine, he took it.

"There you go again with your stupid assumptions" Eric uttered standing beside Michael.

Michael eyed him and sighed. "Oh Daniel, after coming back from that long trip, I haven't been having fun, that's how busy I am these days and I'm dying to go get myself a hot lady" Michael said, speaking to Daniel in particular because Eric wasn't involved.

Daniel turned back to the pool and as if telling Michael to join him. Michael stood by his left while Eric left to answer a call. He excused himself.

"I've also not been having fun" Daniel sounded disappointed.

"There must be a reason" Michael requested for a reason.

Daniel glanced at him. "Well, after meeting this girl things have been changing about me" he said thoughtfully.

Michael stared at him with squinted eyes. "Have you perhaps fallen in love my friend? 'Cause that's love bro" he stated, nodding his head when Daniel looked his way. With Daniel's gaze on him he took a sip of his drink.

Daniel scoffed. "That's crazy. I'm just craving to have her in my hands but she's taking too long to come to me. She's totally different, she's fearless and doesn't feel flattered by me at all but today I saw a different part of her" he said before taking a sip of his own drink.

Michael stared at him as if not listening to him. "Look Mr Fiver, all I can say is that you are already in love...." Daniel stared at him regretting he told him about Lucy. "So I suggest we have sometime for ourselves, this Friday" he suggested.

Daniel nodded in agreement.

"How are you celebrating your birthday?" Michael asked after some seconds of silence.

"I don't know yet but I think it's the usual way. Inviting my business friends, partner and friends from other countries. I doubt my parents will even be coming" he replied.

Michael touched his shoulder. "sorry baby boy" he teased.

Daniel turned to him looking mad and glared at him. Michael laughed, he knew the man couldn't do anything to him even if he gave him a killer glare.

"Stop laughing, you sound so annoying" Daniel almost yelled. Just then Eric came walking in with his own glass. He blew out a sigh and gulped down a little of his wine.

"Being a CEO is more hard than I thought" he sounded so tired.

"It isn't that easy but bro, you'd get used to it" Daniel patted his shoulder before Eric offered an appreciative gaze. Of course Michael didn't know about being a CEO because he was still on the mission of being the CEO. The three are the only sons of their family, so they were the heir.

"So what did I miss?" Eric asked, drinking again.

"A lot. I think Daniel is in love" Michael uttered receiving a glare from Daniel, not that he didn't want Eric to know about Lucy but Michael was misinterpreting his statement. So he gave Michael a warning stare but he waved it off. "He has a girl"

Eric looked stunned and slowly his lips curved into a smile and turned his gaze to Daniel. "Oh friend, I'm happy for you.... I mean after so many trials"

"You crazy, trials? I was never after love and definitely isn't in love" he countered.

"Lies, tell us who she is" Michael insisted getting on Daniel's nerve.

"Well, I hired her to be my cook even when I didn't need one but she needed a job so I had to offer her one"

"But now she's change you" Michael said.

Daniel got tired of him and didn't reply.

"So what's her name?" Eric asked, about to gulped in his drink...

"Lucy" Daniel replied.
