It's just cooking

"Lucy" Daniel said. "She's pretty and got such a beautiful body and can't wait to have her. I know she wants me too but let's see who'd lose the game of playing hard to get" Daniel explained.

Eric was listening but was in wonders. Could the Lucy he's talking about be the Lucy he met a month ago. The tough fearless Lucy? He knew she could give herself to Daniel but with the way he was talking, it seems she hasn't offer her body yet. Why?

Well, he hated that idea but how is she doing? Has she treated herself? He shouldn't bother so much, she had told him not to meddle so he shouldn't but deep down he wanted to see her again.

"So she works as your cook?" Eric asked.

"Where were you when he said that?" Michael asked, replying instead and making Eric annoyed.

Eric only gave a stern look before drinking his wine slowly looking into space and listening to the naughty conversation Daniel and Michael were having.

Lucy got home, hang her bag and lay on her bed. She stared at the ceiling in deep thought, on her way back she saw a newlyweds couple passing by and she felt disheartened by that.

She thought of herself, she wasn't married yet and not only that, she has a terrible sickness she hasn't treated yet.

Now she wondered where she's going. She was just like a vagabond, with no destination. Why and what was she living for?

Ever since she was used by her aunt to make money, she wasn't interested in what people call LOVE. The word 'I love you' sounds so pleasing but it's heartbreaking. They say 'I love you' and then act opposite.

Those were the words her parents said to her everyday but they left saying they loved her. Why would they leave when they love her? Why would her dad just give up after saying he loves her? Why did her Mom left her with her aunt and went to marry another Man after saying the word 'I love you' that sounds more like a vow meaning you'd never leave that person but.... They left her all alone. She blames her parents for her life being like it has no destination. She had her tears streaming down her eyes to her ear when she fell into slumber. 'I want to be happy' she wished in her heart.

The day to the event arrived and she was reminded by her client. She felt anxious after hanging up the call and had strange feeling in her stomach. She couldn't swallow. Her heart was losing some beats and thumping faster.

Daniel had been watching her from behind as she stood beside the pool. She loved standing there not knowing the reason but she finds herself their when she got nothing to do. She sensed someone watching her but didn't turn to see who it was, it would either be one of the workers around or Daniel. She then close her eyes and like everyone else, she imagined the next day, seeing good things happening, she smiled but when it was erased with bad events she opened her eyes and rebuked bad prospection. She shook it off her head and turned to see who's watching her. As expected, it was Daniel. He walked close to her, she faked a smile when he stood next to her.

"Are you okay?" He asked when she turned back to the pool. She flashed a smile at him.

"I'm fine.... What's up"

He shrugged and they became silent.

"It's my first time being called for an event..... I don't really know how things go" she spoke.

"Don't worry about it, you'd blend it easily tomorrow and you know there's a first time for everything. All you need to do is cook and the others will serve. Very easy" he sounded as if assuring her it's going to be okay.

"I hope so" she said almost in disbelief.

"Are you... Kind of nervous about tomorrow?" He asked.

She frowned at him. "Of course not"

He shrugged. "Just say it out... You are nervous, I can hear your heart beating and pounding so fast behind your skin" he teased her.

She frowned more and looked away. "That's not my heart, I don't know if it's yours and I've told you... I'm not nervous" she said in confidence but she knew deep down she is.

"If you say so" he whispered to her. She turned to him with a frown and then back to the pool.

The next evening arrived at last. Lucy found herself in the garden with a white big shirt and black trouser and with a chef's hat on. It was the first time she did something like this. She was going to cook and coordinate the cooking. She rubbed her sweaty hands together, pacing back and forth. Being nervous wasn't her at all and it caused her head to throb, her heart racing. She placed her hand on her forehead and the other on her waist taking a deep breath.

It's just to cook, it's cooking.... Just mixing ingredients and all. I can do this. Yes... I can. She told herself and took another deep breath because the more her heart race the more she find it difficult to breathe.

She turned to the direction to the kitchen and blew out a sigh. It's cooking, she told herself and walked quietly to the kitchen when a man bumped into her with the fragrance of perfume she knew. He was on call and didn't turned to look at her only to gesture he's sorry but she saw his face before he left her sight.

Her lips parted, it was Eric! Ohh! What if his family are at the party? She should have known parties like this calls the riches. She needed to avoid bumping into any of them.

Without another thought, she left for the kitchen and when her thought keeps disturbing her, she took her earphone and played her favorite song which wasn't too loud and wasn't to low. She could hear from the background and also from her earphone.

Eventually the food were prepared and all dishes were out for serving. Lucy ended up in the same garden again and sat on the grass resting on her hands that was placed on the grass behind her back, still listening to music.

Out in the event was a party held for a millionaire's daughter who was celebrating her birthday and also was her engagement. The event was going fine and when the dishes were tasted, many wanted to see the cook and requested for her presence but when some waiter went to get her, she wasn't seen by anyone.

Daniel, Eric and Michael was seated on a table with two ladies, they weren't focusing on the event going on. Daniel and Michael were flirting with the ladies while Eric excused himself, he passed by the garden earlier and felt it was a cool place to stay.

When he got there, he was shocked.

It was Lucy in pain and it felt like a deja Vu but this time she helped herself up out of the garden sluggishly, holding her stomach and couldn't stand straight.

Lucy watched the stars in the not so dark sky because the moon was full bringing a little light to the whole area. Suddenly she felt a sharp pain in her stomach that she immediately held unto it. It felt like something tightening in her belly and at the same time expanding, she felt something piercing into all her system like a needle. Why always at a party? She grimaced her face and stood up gently because it hurts so much. She dragged her feet out of there to find her way home.

Luckily for her, she found her way out of the building and stood by the road side looking for a cab but none seems to pass by and her bag was still inside the kitchen, where would she get the money to pay the cab driver even if she finds one. She dragged her feet to find a bus station and beg another passenger to pay her fee.

In deep miserable pain, still holding her belly, couldn't stand straight, dragging her foot, enduring the pain, crying and all she needed to do was endure, lie on her bed and soon fall asleep but she needed to get home first, that's when a black motorcycle parked in front of her. She halt and stared at him with tears in her eyes and pain written all over her face, she watched the man take off his helmet to see, Edward.

How did he know she was in a place like this? She wanted to ask but got no strength to speak.
