Fearless lady

It's a Sunday again but this time she didn't go to the orphanage but received a visitor. It's Eric and he brought breakfast for the both of them. She remembered the conversation she had with Tory recently, she should try to open up her heart. Maybe not opening it but being nice might lead her slowly.

"Good morning Lucy.... Bright and shine" he greeted with a smile on his face and Immediately brought out his cellphone and took pictures of her.

"What's that?" She asked after he took pictures.

"Won't you invite me in?"

She left the door entrance and he walked in with pride, he dropped the bag on the table before sitting on the plastic chair. She closed the door and turned to him. "How are you doing?" He asked, she went to him and shrugged.

"I'm good" she said and sat on the chair by the head of the short table. "What about you?" She asked which wasn't what he expected. He smiled.

"I'm good if you are" he said and then their gazes locked.

"What?" She asked because he was staring at her.

"You are looking really pretty. Love your new look" he said.

She stared at his sparkling grey eyes and she was mesmerized and then she smiled in a blushing way. "Thank you" she whispered.

Wait....wait.... wait! Did he just made her blush by his words, he made her face flushed. He smiled and began to open the bag. "Are you hungry?" He asked. She shook her head.

"Can you just eat a little?" He asked again, she looked at him.

"I'd try" she said. "I'd got get plates" she stood up and went in to the kitchen, she dropped the plates and went back to get glasses for water.

"Lucy" Eric uttered when they began to eat. She wasn't eating much, she was playing with her food. "What happens to you if you eat too much?"

She kept mute for a while or maybe she was chewing something, Eric didn't expect any response. "I get stomach churning that it causes me to vomit." She said and he recalled very well, that it happened in the hotel then. "Sometimes, I get sick" she said. "That's because I force myself to eat" she added.

Eric wanted to bring the topic of her treating herself but he knew how much she hated that topic. He pressed his lips because he was speechless, he took the big jug and poured her a glass of water. "If you don't feel like eating... Have a glass of water" he handed her the glass and with an assuring smile from him, she collected the glass and gulped down the water.

"Aren't you going to the orphanage today?" He asked while he eats.

"No, not today"

"Should I ask why?"

"Just taking a break"

"Alright"

Silence overcame after and as he eats, he thought of what they could do the whole day.

"Wanna go to the park?" He asked and she averted her gaze to him as if waiting for him to say something.

She laughed. "Those places are for kids Eric. I'm not..."

"It's for everyone, no one said it's particularly for kids" he cuts in. "Wanna go?" He asked again.

"Okay" she replied, he smiled and lifted his hand, he gently placed it on her head and stroked it.

"It would be fun" he said.

Lucy was surprised by his actions towards her, he dropped his hand and she stared at his beautiful grey eyes. "You still wanna be my friend?" she asked.

Eric had his mouth filled up when he heard that question. He swallowed. "Yes" he nodded.

"You are doing you best. Keep it up"

He laughed. "You sound like my Mom" his laugh wasn't sounding like a laugh, it sounded sad.

"Ohh" she uttered, she wanted to ask where his mom is but didn't. He lifted the spoon his hand and then in front of her lips. She looked at the rice and then his face. He nodded for her to take it and she opened her mouth slowly and accepted the food.

"Taste good right?"

She nodded and swallowed. "Wish you could eat some more" he said in a low soft tone.

'I wish too' she said internally.

Soon, they left for the park and when they arrived, the place was crowded with people and not just kids, couples their age, three female besties, young couple, teenagers on a date and families. He was right after all, the park isn't for Children alone. She had only been to a park once, when her parents were still with her.

"So which one should we try first?" He asked looking around. She turned to him and shrugged.

"You should choose" she replied.

He took her to the swing, at first she refused to sit but eventually he made her.

When he said it was fun, he meant it, he stood behind her pushing the swing and she had a sweet smile on her face. They had so much fun, they acted like a child and he bought cotton candy, played a game and got a teddy bear almost as big as a human.

Walking around to check what else to do, he saw the thrill ride and suggested they have a ride. She agreed and they get on, buckled up. The ride started and when it became faster, she lost her breath and her heart began to thump faster it was like it was going to escape from her breastbones. She held on tight to Eric who was used to and was enjoying the ride. She screamed at the top of her lungs as she widened her eyes and when it became more thrilling, she became frightened and shut her eyes closed and opened her mouth so wide screaming as she held onto Eric. He was surprised she acted that way, she's always a fearless lady and now she was frightened and terrified by this ride. Oh no! He's going to get it from her.

When the ride was over, she staggered as she tried to climb out but thanks to Eric, she was able to. She had hiccups and was coughing at the same time. She held his hands so tight like she was still on the ride. She looked at him in horror and he swallowed hard.

"You(hiccup) told me it was going to be...!" She wanted to yell but she had hiccups and coughed. Well, she wasn't the only one terrified by the thrilling ride! She couldn't talk much yet because she was still trying to catch her breath. Eric took her to a shop and bought water for her. He opened the bottle and handed it to her. She slowly drank it but when it was almost finished she gulped it down fast. She smashed the bottle on his steel like chest.

"Lucy..." He looked at her furious looking eyes.

She was still shaking from the fright the ride offered her.

"Next time, I wouldn't listen to you" she said.

"Sorry, I never knew you weren't used to that ride. You are always daring and fearless so I thought..."

She glared at him causing him to pause. She walked away and he followed her.

"Lucy!"

"Don't call me, I'm going home!" She yelled at him

"I won't bring you here again.. I promise" he said and then noticed he was still holding the squashed bottle and then he tossed it away.

"Lucy!" He ran to reach for her and when she turned around he pulled her to him because a horse was walking towards her way.

She fell on him causing her to kiss his cheek. It happened so fast that she couldn't process what happened in her head. She stared at him recovering before standing up on her feet to see people watching and murmuring. Gosh! She slapped her hair and helped him up because he had his hands outstretched.

She let go of his hand and walked away. Eric went to get himself cleaned up before going to his car.

Surprisingly, he saw her leaning against his car and with an excited face he went to her.

When she noticed his presence. "I was waiting to get my bag" she said.

"Lucy, I'd take you home" he concluded.

"No"

"Why?"

"I don't know! Maybe because I'm still recovering from the...that stupid ride!" She screamed. Everyone passing by had to turn to see who it was.

"I'm sorry... really sorry, I didn't know okay. Next time, I wouldn't bring you here." He said. "Now get in I'd take you home" he said and went to the other side of his car to get in. He knew she'd declined again if he waited for her answer so he went away.

"Get in" he gestured for her to. She looked away.
